TheDevourer Posted March 21, 2012 Share Posted March 21, 2012 I've got my hands on 10 Nightlord models (Heresy Armor off of forgeworld). But I think building a full fw-based army is going to be a bit too expensive. However, I just love the Nightlord Fluff and since I'm renegade to the Imperium, they are my favourite Founding Legion ;). At the moment I'm waiting for the new edition before I start up any new projects. If I end up building some Marines, I'll probably end up posting them on this site to boost my morale. I'm not one of the people who enjoy painting ^^. Maybe some battle reports aswell. But for now my money is going toward other projects aside from warhammer B) And no embarassment caused Isiah. The ten marines you are building, which squad are they gonna be? the 10th? Or the other Assault squad? It'll be great to do an assault squad with no jump packs - the look brutal! Would it not look too much like a Black Templar :lol: 7th and 8th Squads added to previous post ;) The 10 in progress marines will be: 3 to complete the standard guys for the 10th Squad 7 where going to be used to start a new 1st Squad which would free up the current ones in robes to be converted into Honour Guard/veterans. I just bought 10 sets of legs so I can use some spare torsos from my bits box to make up another 10 figures. I have another box of 5 Assault marines in the queue so I might combine these with the left over figures to form another 10 man squad So at the moment - for clarity: 10 figures base coated 10 figures in bits 5 Assault marines in box 10 old style badly painted marines soaking in Meths. not sure how many will be saved But I only need 3 of these to complete the 4th Company!!! :lol: In boxes or on order: 1 x Storm Raven 3 x Dreadnoughts 3 x Vindicators 1 x LR Crusader 5 x Death Company (cheap - could not resist) Sammi 10 x Pre heresy marines Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Won't be complete by Sat for the LPC but getting there :) I will upload photos tomorrow showing the state of play so far. Capt S. I am not convinced with doing the whole Storm Raven in black after all even though Raven appears in the name it is not used for transporting the Ravenwing so I would not know how to justify it fluff wise. If your objection is fluff, you can say that the vechicle is RW but it transports non-RW marines. It's a fast attack piece of gear as opposed to the super-heavy Thunderhawk so it sort of makes sense... sort of... :) Think of it like a green LR transporting DW. This is non-existent in fluff at the moment. IF the Storm Raven makes an appearence in the Codex everything will be explained I'm sure. Your risk is, that it will only be Greenwing and you'd have a black one OR it could be RW and you'd have a green one. Or vice versa. or anything in between. There where some minor bubbles which I did not notice till it was too late but I think I hid them well. Overall I was impressed with the detail and quality. It's a seamless conversion and the energy on the sword is very well executed. I really like his heraldry on the shoulder pads too. It gives him a lot of character.
