Now - the more eagle eyed amongst you may be able to spot at least 2 non-Sammael parts - answer on a postcard to......

http://i814.photobucket.com/albums/zz66/jonbrooks_photo/Dark%20Angels/CIMG1789.jpg

I believe both parts are visible in this pic.

One... the Crux clasp on his left shoulder is one of those from the DA veteran/accessory sprue, not the starburst clasp that comes with Sammael.

Two... definitely the stone icon behind his head, that isn't the one that comes with Sammael (which doesn't have a scythe).

Both of the Sammael parts are visible in the pic below...

http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p27/holybolter/Other%20work/sammael1.jpg

You also don't seem to have used his holstered pistol.

So how'd I do? What do I win?

Gents - we have a winner :woot:

Due to an unfortunate accident while cleaning off the resin I was able to wave a tearful farewell to them as they spun down the plug hole :cuss

MadDoc you win the chance to dive for them in the sewer system - if found you get to keep them :D

I tried to use the normal holster you get with the Marine sprue but it was too big to fit.

I think the scythe icon looks better now.

Yay! :woot:

Boo! :cuss I feel your pain.

MadDoc you win the chance to dive for them in the sewer system - if found you get to keep them :D

Um, Yay... :woot:

Ah, that explains it.

I think the scythe icon looks better now.

Tough call, I think both look good, but I think I still prefer the normal icon.

I have a metal Sammael sitting here waiting to be assembled, but I need new bits for my pin vice (my current bits can now barely drill plastic...) before I can do that, as he will definitely need to be pinned.

I have scrapped the previous photos of Sammael, Master of the Ravenwing as they where poor :)

Here are the new, improved photos

It might be an idea to invest in a sink strainer to catch the pieces before they are washed away.

Heartbreaking - just lucky that the bitz box had what I needed.

Thanks Stobz - praise indeed from you.

We have plugs here too but you really should check that you have all the bits before you pull it out!

If they where metal I might have a chance of them being left in the u-bend but there was no chance with resin - too light :D

Stink one about the bits(I was only teasing with my quip), fortunately for Sammy your skill has more than saved the day.

My old metal Sammy could quite easily be added to a Dreadsock for some extra weight and spikes so I didn't have that issue ;)

I think these are excellent Elmo! Really like the interior there! I also like the measured weathering. My favorite configuration has to be 4th squad razor! TL heavy bolters - nothing cooler! :P

Thanks Brothers :)

The lighting was provided by 2 desk lamps directed at either side of the model and 1 extra directly overhead.

All three have halogen daylight bulbs.

Just to make you feel even happier Capt. S. the other Razorback has the Las Cannons magnetised on so they can BOTH have twin Heavy Bolters :)

Thanks SG

It was all done by drybrushing - no fancy FW stuff here :D

Heavy drybrush of Scortched Brown

Normal drybrush of Bestial Brown

Devlan mud wash

Light drybrush of Graveyard Earth

Elmo, the entire company looks awesome! My only nit-picky detail is that the Sgt for Squad 2 looks a little bug-eyed in the pic, mostly looks like his irises/pupils are too large (from the photo), might be a trick of the light.

Everything looks very awesome! I'm jealous of your new Vindicators. I've only managed to acquire one right now. Your vehicles look great and very well done on the weathering.

Sammy looks great, as Stobz said, look at it as personalization, not loss, besides, the parts you added do look very good on there, are subtle and just add to the Dark Angel-ness, not detract! I really like the freehand you did for his shoulder pad heraldry and the book, awesome work!

All in all, while I'm not a fan of the red weapons, they look awesome, man, amazing Dark Angels 4th Company (and in such a short time too)!

Thanks Bryan

If that is the only nit pick then I can breath again :teehee:

The 2nd Squad was one of my first units completed and there are a couple of other things I want to tidy up as well as the Sgt's squint.

He also is using a Chaos Plasma Pistol :)

That will be why he usually fails his "gets hot" rolls ;)

The Vindies are on a back burner for now while the Raven is in progress. The plan is to put the DA wings/sword across the top of all 3 Vindies. I think it would be a little large for the siegeshields but I will have to think about it more later.

More updates on the Raven this weekend.

Agreed. All awesome sauce. New vehicle photos do the vehicles more justice. I like the attention to detail on the Storm Raven: the 'ground' end of the closed rear ramp has been muddied. Cool beans :tu:.

Here is my secret weapon....

A Ravenwing Landspeeder Storm with Ravenwing PA crew and 5 Scouts from 2nd Squad, 10th Company.

This will be my last non-codex project for a while - I promise :D

I have done a few conversions:

The pilot and gunner use 2 sets of biker legs. The pilots left arm has had the hand turned 90° to grip the joystick and the gunners arms are from a vehicle crewman.

I had to play around with the positioning of the scouts in the rear compartment as with this conversion I had to fit 5 in the back instead of the 4 it was designed for.

Magnets have been drilled into the scouts feet/LS chassis and the bases to allow them to dismount and be used as normal scouts.

Using the PA figures freed up the driver who now has a shotgun in the picture so I get 6 scouts instead of the normal 5 :)

The pictures with the scouts in the LS remind me of the Keystone Kops but dismounted on the bases look like part of the Ministry of Silly Walks!!!

Excuse some of the photos as the camera is playing up at the moment.

For normal games I will be using it as a "counts as" LS Typhoon (missiles under the chin) and the scouts will join in with the rest of 2nd Squad.

I will now be starting the Landraider for my Deathwing ;)

I am working on the 4th Company photos at the minute - stick with it :D

The whole force looks great :P very cleanly and accurately painted. I particularly like your DW as the individual models are able to show more character in the form of personal heraldry etc. But all in all, great work indeed.

Cheers
