The Lost and Forgotten: Building the II Legion

I would have to also agree with H.

Going back to your earlier posts about being hesitant to play your army in Heresy games because they were already destroyed, there is plenty of precedent for warp travel having variable effects on time. While you have described them as being very good at navigation and the warp in general even the best make mistakes. You could easily say that a company or battalion simply reenters real space at the height of the Heresy or even just before it, opening them up to battles with either side.

I want to thank everyone for helping me out with these tough decisions, as it stands, Mr. Swaid is going to come up with variations on G and H (as those two are my favorite of the 12) and from there we will choose one which will become the final painted version.

I should also have the first WIP pics from Den of Imagination sometime this week.

This is the color test Mr. Swaid and I settled on, I hope you like it. We are now starting to paint the finished artwork.

I like the final colour scheme for the primarch. Though I would like to see some cherry blossom in the final piece. Either somewhere on the armour or in the background, swirling in a storm.

I think that the cherry blossoms would convey the idea of a spiritual side and inner peace.

This is the finished piece of artwork for the II Legion Primarch. I can't begin to express how pleased I am to see him come to life like this and I really look forward to getting a chance to paint a model version of him.

I hope you guys enjoy Mr. Swaids work as I plan on commissioning him to help with a few more pieces involving the Thunder Legion.

I'm glad you decided to go for a new sculpt. A concept of this caliber deserves to be built from the ground up.

Sir, this highly ambitious project of yours is incredible. Well done on the concept, and your commission artist deserve much praise as well. No doubt we'll be praising your sculptor too ;)

Beautifull artwork, it sets a very high standard for any future works

Edit: I'd just like to say that the work you put into this project is beyond inspirational. Everything from concept to finished models, fluff or art is a feast for the eyes

Keep up the awesome work.

Athrawes, I'm going to need my jaw back. It just decided to drop as soon as the image of the Second Primarch appeared on my screen, and I seem to have lost it.

Awesome, spectacular work from the artist. You must be so pleased to finally see this piece completed. I know for a fact that I'd just be as giddy as :cuss : after receiving a commission like this back.

Any more models on the way? ;)

I've got to say that this is amazing and like a few people have said it's inspiring me to do my own take on the XI legion. Started to brainstorm it I'll post it when I'm happy I think.
