I'll take that as a compliment depth....!

Finished the storm wolf!

And started work on the last 2 units for my tourney

Had my first 1750 game last night trying out all my new toys against a fellow Wolves player....

The sicicaran, holy :cuss, is amazing! Gave it battle of sarosh legacy (which gives it interceptor, skyfire and tank hunter for a turn) and used it against his storm wolf the turn it arrived, blowing it out of the sky and killing half the squad inside. Absolutely savage!

My stormwolf didn't do a huge amount but managed to be enough of a nuisance while the void claws took out a unit of grey hunters after being Whitled down to 3 by over watch and then wiped out the following turn.

Murderfang and melta dread did absolutely nothing while my TWC got cut down to 2 buy arjac, ulrik and plasma drop pod before even getting into combat.

Arjac proceeded to wreck face against me, what a machine! He tanked a whole round of shooting from the sicaran, smashed harald in a challenege, destroyed my TWC pack leader and then went after the sicaran only being felled by the stormwolf after fluffing his attacks against the tank.

He will make it into my 2000 points for sure!

Managed to win 11-12 on malestrom but was a very tough game!

Great stuff...even if you are a space wolves player:P

I'll take that as a compliment depth....!

Hahaha the first part was.... oooooooooh snap! tongue.png tongue.png

All kidding aside though: MAN you do have a high production/quality rate. Speed and a great paint scheme. Nice. Also: great spray booth, mate! :tu:

Love that weathering, and I agree your pace of painting/production is insane!  I wish I could crank out units like this in the time you do . . .

Airbrush is the key for sure! Done this already...

If your even thinking about it, just do it! If you have one, don't be scared to make mistakes and learn from them

I'm weighing between buying more models or buying an airbrush, atm. It's a delicate balance, to be sure. Mrs. Vel'Cona gets miffed if I overindulge from the Chapter Reserves, if you get my drift. ph34r.png

It was a compliment ;) just gotta keep that DA/SW rivalry alive.

Any hope of seeing heresy wolves?

That rivalry will always be there...!

Unfortunately no heresy Wolves, going for something a bit more bloody....

Wow these all look great!  The weathering is top notch.

Cheers dude! It's great fun to do

I want one of these. That shell catching hull design kind turns me off when I see the head on view. Thinking of trying to scratch build a cross between this and a BattleTech Sekhmet. Someday, after I get what I already have mostly painted.

Your army is looking good. I like your more glacial blue scheme. Definitely one of my favorite Companies to watch expand.

Trust me this is a beautiful model! So much fun to paint, I just can't stop...! Details and battle damage done...

Now time for washing!

And thanks vykryl, I think the glacier blue is starting to grow in me more as this project has gone on, especially on the sicaran hence I have dialled the wash back a little on the stormfang and will try and do the same with this

Looking really nice. I especially like the weathering.

Is it the sponge technique then using graphite pencils??

Also the snow, is it the crushed glass I have been hearing about?

Who were your opponents and what did you learn from the games??

I used sponge effects on the sicaran and think that is defo the way I'm going to do it in future. No graphite pencil, just different colours sponged on then wash applied to all areas.

Snow is woodland scenics soft flake dusted over a layer of mig mud for the tank

Played chaos and the Wolves....

I learned that you need to clear objectives fast, and that Thunderwolves are horrible to play against! Also maybe harald is not the best choice as a warlord. Not having a 2+ is a big deal.

The sicaran though, awesome. So much fun to run in the 3 games I have. Against the chaos stripped a helldrake down to one hull point using the mark of sarosh the turn it came on. Same when I played the Wolves he dropped 6 meltas in next to it with a rune priest and I wipped out all but 2. Interceptor, skyfire and tank hunter is nuts on a heavy 6 twin linked rending str7 ignores jink for one turn!

Oh...and murderfang and termies are useless!

Harald Deathwolf has a 3+ invul save though  from his shield and is immune to flame weapons.

I recommend sticking him in the path of a Hellturkey or similar units and when tey try to toast the unit, watch as nothing happens because Harald tanked everything with his immune to flame cloak.

The Sicaran is brilliant, did you arm it iwith sponsons for the 2 lascannon or extra 6 HB shots on top of the 6 twinlinked autocannon and 3 HB shots.

Having never used Murderfang I couldnt comment, but he has to get close and if podding needs to be in cover as he cannot assault when he jumps out. I also take it that your opponent packed a fair amount of plasma/ melta?

Now I know what your models look like (absolutly fething awesome by the way) I'll be on the look out for you at Vanquish.

Maybe we'll end up in a match against each other.

Do you know anyone else on B&C thats going to Vanquish?

Really impressed with your work man, you've inspired me to think about picking up an airbrush of my own.

What make do you use / where did you get it?

Maru.

I don't know any from here but I play with a couple of the vanguard guys so know a couple of people.

Thanks man, really appreciate your kind words! Also living the look of your blood angles and think it would be fitting if we managed a match up at the weekend. Would look awesome on the tabletop!

Just get an airbrush! Taken me a bit to get used to but once you do, it is so effortless and fast. I picked up a cheap Chinese one with compressor on eBay. Just as I started my Wolves I upgraded my airbrush to a h&s infinity (I think, about £80) and it was so worth it, wish I had done it sooner.

If you want anymore info just let me know

I will be keeping an eye out for big crispin!

Did you settle on a list yet?

Good luck for this weekend and do not forget to take a camera so we can get some nice pictures of your models in action plus some battle reports :)
