Codex: Aeldari

I was really hoping that Fire Dragons would get a 2 profile weapon, one fusion, one flamer.

I'm not sure why. They've always been described as anti-tank and -fortification specialists. The fact that the Exarch gets a flamer is odd, much less if the entire squad could take them.
Aren’t flamers the go-to weapon agains entrenched/ bunkered infantry?

Aren't clearing bunkers and cracking bunkers different things?

I ‘hope’ that the representation of each of the aspect warriors in the new codex plays to their super specialised nature. It’s a shame we have to lose more troops options and I think retaining dire avengers as troops isn’t unreasonable to be fair. Perhaps they are trying to draw more distinction between them as their roles were historically quite similar, moreso since guardians went to bs3

Would be kind of silly to crack the bunker and then walk away like "That ain't my job! See my job description? It says 'cracker,' not 'clearer.' Clearer is on his way, bad guys - just sit tight til he gets here!"

and thats what the Striking Scorpions are for, or a second wave of Guardians as the Dragons move onto the next target. Does make more sense if they can crack and clear themselves though. then the extra bodies can be used elsewhere.

I wonder if a Dragon Exarch will be able to one shot a Land Raider turn one, first time I ever used a Land Raider it died that way :( Ill never forget it :lol

Aw hell. I hope those Shining Spears don't look too good. The likelihood of me starting a big Ynnari mob is increasing with each new model we see.

Good job I have a theme in my head for my Eldar, no jetbikes for me. May slip in one unit though just as a treat to paint.

The Spears don't look to have the "sweeping canopy" that was mentioned in the rumours, wonder if it's an upgrade sprue to the Windriders rather than a completely new kit.

Yeah good lord, Did the D-scythe need a boost?

I haven't touched my Eldar codex in an age so i might be remembering wrong, but according to that image the D-Schyte no longer autohits so while it could end being way better (didn't even try to do any kind of math) it isn't exclusively a buff

I think its a shroudrunner dualkit, an opinion wich often gets as a counter argument how different they are (different canopy in addition to riders).. but sometimes we have had these extremities before ;

https://www.games-workshop.com/en-NL/Dark-Elves-Scourgerunner-Chariot

There is minimal overlap between the two builds, even less percentually than shroudrunner and shining spear.

To further add to it.. when looking at the faces of the scourgerunner chariot.. I actually think the shroud runner is cadsculpted/designed by the same team, adding more likelyness to this. ( I also really think we seen the same female bare head with round topknot on the shroudrunners from a different angle ; https://storage.googleapis.com/spikeybits-staging-bucket/2021/12/07400e22-eldar-vs-chaos-space-marines-eldritch-omens-battle-box-set-eldar-half.png ( in the centre )

I think the tyranid range also has some dual kits with minimal overlap, its just uncommon with infantry units were dual kits are just a head and weapon swap.

edit: But I think we will find out monday, if its a dualkit with shroudrunners they might be more likely to be the aspect warriors they will reveal on monday in follow up to the autarch options to get the eldritch omen miniatures out of the way first. leaving the release wave contents to be teased at the LVO studiopreview first

The main reason I don’t think it will be a dualkit is that in the buildup to eldritch omens they would have surely mentioned if the shroud runners built shining spears too. They may have common sprues but I doubt a dual kit.

Shining Spears is exciting.

You don't think flamethrowers have anti-fortification applications?

Have they lost their wraithbone fists? And d scythes are no longer auto hit flamers?

Can they even use the scythes in combat as they're blast now?

Definitely makes wraithcannons more viable.
