Disappearing post

Hi bug debuggers!

99% certain that I posted in this topic earlier today (about 0800 GMT I think). My post has since disappeared (not sure when - I just checked around 2200 GMT) - pretty sure someone quote-responded, which looks like it has disappeared also?

I can't see anything in my content in terms of posted comments.

My post wasn't off topic or inappropriate in any way so don't think it has been moderated (I haven't received any notification of that in any case)

It's possible that your post happened during a brief window of time that required a DB roll back. I had a glitch in some code to repair post upgrade issue. I had to revert to a backup to restore the topics to a point about 25 minutes earlier. You might have been caught in that.

My apologies.

No problem it wasn't a big post! Just wanted to say about in case it was part of a wider issue that you weren't aware of.

Great work on the site BTW it is definitely a step forward!

Thanks. The last little bits I need to sort out are a surgical scrub of the forums that became infested with some malformed content

You might have seen this already. The tell-tale sign is the embedding of URLs to an image, when the actual image is supposed to be rendered.

Or signatures (and other posts actually) that contain URLs that are prefix with the wrong hostname (image, www, etc..) within the domain.

It's going to get sorted out.

Yup, my post in another topic was eaten up around the same time as well. I assumed the db rollback was the reason so I guess this pretty much confirms it.

Sorry about that.

Your sacrifice led to the discovery of the glitch that I in the last hour or so fixed. I've bulk-edited a massive trove of forum posts fixing the literal URL text of images and other things.

Many things have been automagically edited in the last hour.

In essence the patch did this:

Was:
URL

Is:

That general pattern was applied throughout the forum posts for image (URL) that were hosted on B&C.
