About this blog

I have started this journey under a kind of "New Year / New Army" challenge. This was 2+ years ago.

In this BLog I manage al the topics related to this development, rescuing old entries and feeding it with the latest ones. SOmeday I may even have a compelt game with this force! Who knows...

For the moment I hope you will enjoy my modeling and painting progresses.

CtA26 - Ironstriders

Hi Folks,   Bastille day left me with enough time to complete 2 additionnal models from my pledge: the Ironstriders.   These models were in stockpile for a while, more than 2 years, but I was not very enthusiastic for painting them: I used to play at sizes where I have enough models to fulfill most tactical role and I am one of those convinced that Striders behave well mostly at small size when tooled up as Ballistarii. With the release of the Hastarrii, I am even more c

CtA26 - Serberys Sulphurhounds

Hi Folks,   While working on my Job's a Big'un pledge, I keep on working, in parallel on my first pledge. After Hastarii it was high time to give some attention to the Sulphurhounds. This is a unit I bought almost 2 years ago on purpose of reinforcing an exiting unit of the same. But, as I never really used the latter, these models stayed a long time in their box. A true Pile-of-Shame component.   As usual now, I've sticked to the existing scheme so that they will mix perfect

CtA26 - Hastarii done

Hi Folks,   Despite heat wave, I managed finishing the 2 Hastarii squads I had on the workbench.   The painting has been rather smooth but, on the building part, its has been a tad different. Despite all the care I have applied based on this step, I have struggled with the eradication beamers. These left hands split in 2 parts did not all fit that well and I had to use knife work to align these properly or close to properly. A common feature with painted by parts models:

CtA26 - First steps with Hastarii

Hi Folks,   After some hesitation sI have decided to enlist once again on the Imperium side with the target to clear my AdMech backlog. First units started are the Hastarii. In fact these are not the one I should have started with but I was keener on trying a new unit rather than reinforcing an old one, even if, gamewise, getting a fully functionnal list at 100% completed head count could be wiser. On the other hand I do not plan getting a game before a few weeks, so it is not tha

March for Mars

Hi folks.   French speaking people will catch the play on words. Others might too as it is not that subtle: March/Marz/Marzo/Mars… all stand for the current month. And as these are linked to the roman god of war that left its name for the third month of the year, it would be a miss for an AdMech fan not to catch the opportunity (There is no valid reason for Greenskins getting Orktober and other faction not seizing options to do the same if possible, is there?).   So March for

Rogue Trader Entourage – Part 4 – Heretek !

Hi folks,   Here comes another installment of this series with the Heretek model, to be used as a proxy for the Lectro-Maester.   Its paint scheme has been largely copied/pasted from my AdMech Priesthood: grey robe made out of Mechanium Grey, Washed with Agrax Earthshade and then dry bruched with Dawnstone and Ulthuan grey. Most of the rest is standardized detailing (red cables, dry brushed Leadbelcher…). The C.A.T. unit and the skulls are also painted in the simplest w

Mechanicum reinforcements

Hi folks, As a small project framed into my 12 MoH pledge for December, here comes 2 extra models for my Adeptus Mechanicus army: a Axiarch and an Archeotechnologist. These 2 lads will bring my head counts for Marshalls and Archeotechnologists to 3 for each category, reaching the full max number for the rooster. Low to no incentive to had any extra model from the HH series when the Skitarii Battle Pilgrim Marshall will be released… The Archeotechnologist is the model that was coming wi

Sydonian Skratos

Hi folks,   Yesterday's and today's were the first snows of this (not yet started) winter's season. Drop in temperature and bad weather kept me stuck at home, with time to commit a small paint job on this pure steampunk model: the Sydonian Skratos.   It was missing to my rooster sheet and I went for one fit with the Jezzail (as Transuranic Arquebuses are already largely present with my Battleline Skitarii units). I dunno if I will ever field this titltman, but I needed o

More Sicarians

Hi Folks,   A small update for the AdMech of mine with 5 Sicarians comings as a reinforcment of my existing unit:     And here is the whole mob with former and new lads banding together. Main difference, while subtle, is the baseing colour: I ran out of Vallejo Tanned Earth and had to change for AK. There is a small difference as AK is a tad darker in tone. It has however a far better covering power.     Next steps for my AdmEchs will be one of

Servitors energized

Hi folks,   I needed some distraction from the black robes of my (populous and numerous) Night Goblins for the World that Was. Time to resume work on the AdMechs, starting with the Servitor clade and the kitbashed Seer I prepared in Sept. It is a small step into coming back into the fray of cybernetical sociopaths, knowing that I still have some models I initially bought for CtA25 but did not unbox yet.   The Servitors have been painted as per my usual colour scheme. But this

Augmetics!

Hi Folks,   After a big summer spent on Pointy Ears for CtA25 challenge, I swapped to the World that Was and focussed on my big back log of Night Gobelins. Painting these photosensitive evil dirty little things is not the most difficult color pallet. But batch painting is something common with GObs, and it might become, say, boring (?). After 3 mobs and 2 characters, I needed a break.   I came back to the sociopathic cyborgs. just to be kept busy and change my mind.

I had said I was done... not yet apparently

Hi Folks,   I though I was done with AdMech, owning now enough models to field a good sized army even at larger game size. Yet it appeared that my project to complete the painting of the last Sicarians ans Sulphurhounds lefts is not going to be the ultimate task related to this faction. I have indeed fallen again into the sin of compulsive buying and have just added these two lads:     The Skatros itself is not that useful in my army structure, as I already have 5

New magii onboard

Hi folks,   A small update for my AdMech force with the addition of two new mages. The ones prevuously teased for their weapon swap and limited customization.     These lads complete my coterie of Technomagii, with a grand total of 3 Manipulus and 2 Dominus (plus an Abeyant used as count as). It is therefore a full mobilization, 3oo3 for each entry.      The Manipulus shows some (very) subtle colour changes with my rpevious models, not only

Weapon swaps and customization

Hi Folks,   While waiting for the primer to dry on my Dwarves for the World that Was, I used the free time I had (due to rainy weather) on swapping weapons on some Magi I have for my AdMech.   Customization and small kitbashes are a nice way to add some subtle differences for these highly standardized models. And it is far easier now that they are in plasteic rather then in lead or white metal... Ahh, nostalgy. of drilling with my first Dremel like tool, 20 years ago...

Welcome Flat Gulch - A Marshal never rides alone

Hi Folks,   As a star bearing Marshal never rides alone, he comes down to town with his mobsters. A gang of black trench coated cyborgs fitted to sting you with their dart blasters.     The kit bashed Marshal has been painted as per my now standardized paint scheme so that he (it?) fits in the aesthetic of the rest of the army.   The Secutarii Peltasts were on my rooster for a while now. I took the opportunity of a big hole in my schedule in order to build

A new Marshall in town

Hi folks,   After a while developping my AdMech Aemy, I've reached a point where I can consider that the mustering is now completed. It means that I am now entering in the cycle of Blobbing the army: buying more stuff that I do not necesary need but that I need for FOMO. Or, as an excuse anyone can believe, in order to get more options in order to gain flexibility and align new units adversary are not used too.   A typical example might be 3 Armingers instead of 1l Styrix Kni
