Turn one- one of the Lascannon Razorback (same one from the previous game) took 9 wounds from one shot.....AGAIN

Purgation Squad killed one of his "Characters", Tyranid Prime and the Brotherhood Champion got the other one, before dying to hail of biomass shots.  Once again turn 3 game ended, with no models. Razorbacks not doing much 250 pts to go elsewhere. 

One thing we learned is the new Cover rule sucks and is great at the same time. I really do like it more than the previous version. We also learned we need to focus more on the rules of our armies as we made some huge blunders.  This is something we are seeing alot in our group so we will be going to 500 pts for a few games to re-evaluate our lists

I got absolutely thrashed.......Orks got a turn one charge off and I was unable to weather the storm. Highlight was Champion executing Weird boy quickly in melee. Demoralizing moment Turn 1- one of my Lascannon Razorbacks took 9 wounds. Over all 11th ed Orks are brutal. And Razorbacks were not worth it. I failed the missions as I forgot to play for missions.

After the 1st turn I was had few forces left and barely made it to turn 3 before my last model died, Brotherhood Champion, who killed his Warboss and Weird boy, but was absolutely murdered by the Pain boy. 

• Grey Knights- If I were to play Grey Knights it is mostly painted but the high cost means I would be out numbered constantly.
• Adepta Sororitas- Bodies lots of bodies but not ready to deal with the potential armies I am going to face.
• Imperial Agents- Cool models and I have a bunch stuff but not the best option as the main army.
• Exorcists- Newest army I have but not feeling Marines at this time.

• Militarum Tempestus- 54th Psian Jackals, I think will be the funniest to play and easiest to paint.

The fires of Istvaan spread unchecked, and now the Galcoran Reach burns. Word of Horus’ betrayal has reached this distant sector in the galactic north, now caught behind the Warmaster’s inexorable advance toward Terra. Ill-prepared for rebellion, the Reach erupts into chaos as warlords, forge-priests, and rogue commanders gather their strength in the Tarkath Sub-Sector, the industrial heart of the region and its last hope for resistance or domination.

Campaign Structure

Players are divided into two factions:

Teams must remain balanced, so please let us know if you’re flexible on which side you’d like to play.

Each month represents a new battlefront in the Tarkath Sub-Sector of the Galcoran Reach, with:

•  A unique star system
• A custom mission
• Special campaign rules

Pairings and mission packets are released on the first weekend of each month.

Lists are updated monthly; new 500pt increments must be submitted by the end of the first weekend each month.

Each month you can earn up to 3 points for your team:

• Fully paint this month’s 500pts
• Win your monthly game
• Add to your army’s story with a short passage of written lore

Lore passages should be 1–3 paragraphs describing your battle, your commander, or your force’s actions that week. All points contribute to your team’s total to determine control of the current system at the end of the month.

• The faction with the most points at the end of each month wins control of that system.
• Victorious factions gain a small strategic bonus for future games.

In its earliest days, the XIXth Legion was used for infiltration, reconnaissance, and target identification operations. The Legion was covertly used to quickly annihilate any faction which refused to submit to the new Imperium, striking from the shadows without warning. The XIXth used terror tactics similar to the Night Lords.[13] One of the earliest known campaigns by the Legion was the conquest of the central Asiatic region, which was ruled by a tyrant known as Kalagann of Ursh. They won many battle honors on Terra, and later took part in the expansion of the Imperium into the rest of the Sol System, liberating Jupiter's moon of Lysithea from xenos. The battle on Lysithea proved costly for the Legion and veterans of the battle wore Jovian runes in its commemoration for many years after.

In the early days of the Great Crusade, the Legion found itself in the shadow of Horus and his Luna Wolves. While Horus valued the XIXth greatly, the Legions forces were largely serving as support troops for the Wolves.

 Originally During the Forgeworld/ Red Book Edition/ Betrayal of Calth/ Burning of Prospero of Horus Heresy (1st ed HH), I was trying to build Imperial Fists. The models ended up other places.  When Horus Heresy Age of Darkness (2nd ed HH) released, I decided to switch to the XIXth legion.  Over time the force grew, not all was built. One of the MHA member's had his Imperial Fist stolen so I donated my unbuilt, Legions Astartes Battle Group and Fafnir Rann.  MHA had our Tanksgiving big game and since then I have not touched my XIXth Legion. Well, now we have Horus Heresy Age of Darkness- Saturnine (3rd ed HH) coming soon. I orginally was like "No I do not need anything in the box, besides the rules."

Saturnine Armor, Mk II does not fit the XIXth Legion.....or does it. One of the things about my XIXth is I have a 15 man Deliverer Squad,

"These warriors had trained alongside the infamous Justaerin Terminators of the Luna Wolves and mastered the tactics of close-range shock assault from both aerial transport and teleport deployment. The Legionaries of the Raven Guard and the Luna Wolves came to refer to these detachments as "Deliverers," both for the carnage they brought to their tendency to be deployed when the daring assaults favoured by the XIXth Legion floundered and threatened to fail. With the Deliverer Squad, and wanting to have a unique feel for my army.....

"Though the Battle of Gate Forty-Two was counted a victory by (and indeed for) Horus, its effects were far-reaching. The XIXth Legion was sorely depleted, leaving only 80,000 Legionaries under their primarch's command and making it the smallest of the Legiones Astartes.

Corax removed himself and his Legion from his brother's command, swearing bitterly never to serve alongside Horus again. One last consequence of the Battle of Gate Forty-Two lingers still to the present day. In the battle's aftermath, those Terran Raven Guard line officers who, before the coming of their primarch, had served for so long under Horus' command were gone, their lives lost to the slaughter, and so the Warmaster was never able to exert much in the way of influence over the Raven Lord's Legion.

Many of these Terran Astartes had been inducted into the warrior lodges established in the XIXth Legion, and with their deaths these unseen bodies all but vanished from the Raven Guard. It has been claimed by his detractors that in assigning the Terran-born Legionaries to the assault wave at Gate Forty-Two that would suffer the greatest losses, Corax did his Legion a service, consolidating his power and paving the way for a future more in line with his own vision."

Raptor Imperialis- Originally, this honour badge was only used by the proto-Astartes known as the Thunder Warriors, but would later be adopted by the genetically-enhanced regiments of the Excertus Imperialis and the early Terran-born Legiones Astartes as well.

So the idea of my XIXth Legion consists of:

• Assault Company- Assault Marines, Destroyers, Dark Furys, Land Speeders, Apothecaries, Counsel and Praetor with Jump Packs.
• Heavy Assault Company- Deliverers, all suits of Terminators,  Land Raiders Proteus and Spartans, and Characters in Terminator armor
• Siege Company- Breachers and Mk III or older armored models and Characters in older Mk armors with some exceptions
• Tactical Company- Mk VI models Tacticals, Support and Heavy support.
• Recon Company- Recon Marines, scouts, Mor Deythan  
• Armored Company- Tanks

As I said that is the idea. But now I have a new idea......Saturnine as Pale Nomads/ Dust Clad, MORE TERRAN RAVEN GUARD!!

So Saturnine is releasing this weekend and one of my LGS is going to be doing a Slow Grow League starting 500 pts. 

While I do have Loyalist XIXth Ravenguard, the Mk II/ Mk III armor does not look right to me. So I am putting the Mk II/ Mk III armors into

XIVth Legion Death Guard.

We decided on Corner deployment and Kill Points plus Slay the Warlord and first blood.

Top of 1. I won the roll off and took first turn. both squad of Terminators and Dreadnought moved forward. Dreadknight moved and advanced to engage a 10 man Hearthakyn Warrior squads and killing a good number of models. Venerable dreadnought opens up rolling "1's"..... Terminators kill some models. Vortex of Doom time.....rolled a 1 and make my psychic warding save...

Bottom of 1.  @The_Oni_of_Hindsight maneuvered his forces around, and began to engage me with his shooting. Lost a terminator, Dreadnought took a lot of shots and only took 2 wounds. The Dreadknight was not so lucky, he took 10 wounds.

Top of 2. Maneuvered my squads in the hope of 3 charges in the assault phase.  Venerable Dreadnought opened up again.....hitting nothing 

Terminators shot killing a few models between the 5 man squads. Dreadknight shoot was not too effective. Vortex of Doom took out 3 models.  Charge phase. Dreadknight Charges the Warrior squad he has been fighting. Swing and a miss. Chaplain and his squad killed the Warrior squad they been shooting. Librarian and his squad killed the warrior squad they were fighting,

Bottom of 2.  Oni dropped his Hearthguard to engage either the Chaplain and his Terminators or the Dreadknight. The Pioneers moved to shoot the Venerable Dreadnought. Shooting on Oni's end was amazing, Dreadknight dead,  Dreadnought dead, Chaplain's terminators dead, and Chaplain dead.

Top of 3. I had a understrength squad of terminators and my Librarian left. So I went after the full Warrior Squad and his Warlord Kâhl. Shooting, psyhic powers weakened the squad. Charged into melee and killed them all. 

Score 6-4

Bottom of 3. Everything shot at me but the 2 Sagitaur....only cause everything was dead, by the time it was their turn to shoot.

Absolutely Garbage model of the Match: Venerable Dreadnought. 

I had fun even though it was a loss. 

I currently kinda gave up on 40k at the moment (10th rubs me the wrong way, really bad, still have 2 armies though, Guard and marines)

I am planning my 4th army for Heresy, (the Xth, The IVth, Solar auxilia, and soon mechanicum)

I have 2 armies for AOS, (soul food gravy lords, Stormcasters)

I am the career Arbitrator for our group's Necromunda campaigns

I have armies for Heavy Gear, SW legion, and a growing army of battletech mechs.
