Hi I’m Casual Heresy, and I’m a hobby butterfly. And that’s okay. Afternoon all. A combination of the forum upgrades and downtime from catching Nurgle’s blessing (covid) for the first time means I’m finally going to start the WiP log I’ve always meant to start. I love space marines of all types so always have multiple projects on the go. Currently, I’m focussing on Black Templar reinforcements for the August Throne of Skulls at Warhammer Workd with heresy era ultramarines in the background. But various other armies and one off projects will pop up over time. Currently I’m about to finish the first of two Redemptors for my Templars, and a Contemptor I finished yesterday is waiting on tufts. After that there is only Grimaldus and his boy band, a Primaris Techmarine and Castellan to go.

As the Title says, I finally got my Hands On my Combat Patrol Box!, Will be using this as a Tool to encourage me to Continue with it at hopefully a bit faster than my Usual Glacial pace . Pics soon of Grey plastic stuck together.... I've been looking at everyone else's models being painted and it has enthused me to kick it into gear. Cheers, M

Who might be attending the big London GT? I'm actually going, with a new list planned in the Ultramarines section here, link when I get confirmation from the TO about whether a Kratos is allowed. I don't expect to win of course but I expect to have fun and if I can get 40% wins I'd be happy. Oh if anyone sees me wearing my B&C T-shirt with Captain Idaho on it, come say hi! I'm a big fella but don't worry, I'm also pleasant enough in real life!

Group shot of 4th generation models from my project log. 1.5mm waist, 2x 1mm in the legs. Converted assault-pattern multimelta. Two models on the right have converted "Cerceus-Pattern" bolters. A height comparison was requested. -

Tall Scale Space Marine with an assault grenade launcher. This Marine isn't supposed to be strictly canonical, nor to represent anything in particular on the tabletop. I just thought it would look cool to have a Marine carrying some kind of auxiliary specialty weapon and loaded for bear. Turned out that it didn't work quite the way I'd envisioned since I pack so much gear on these guys. But I think the overall aesthetic is there of a transhuman killer armed to the teeth. Armed with Cerceus Pattern Bolter modifcation. Unique bits used: Black Templars head (now available in the standard tactical kit since GW seems to steal every other idea I have, heh). IGuard grenade launcher with two bolter handles added. Chaos Marine right shoulderpad with chaos iconography filed off and skull bent to hang at a natural angle. -

Concept art (shamelessly borrowed from whomever did the original mockup) for the Cerceus-Pattern Bolter I'll be using with my conversion project. The Cerceus Pattern bolter places the barrel more in line with the charging handle.ejection port, flipping the auto-sense targeter link underneath the barrel. This allows for greater ammunition capacity, and a simplified internal mechanism. Front sight post has been shaved down since it had no corresponding rear sight anyway, and was thus non-functional. Instead the top cowls conceal flip-up auxiliary sights in case the Marine's helmet is disabled. -

Multimelta conversion designed to evoke a more transportable, less bulky weapon. Meltabomb based fuel cannister. Pose came from an old Marine torso I had apparently clued together with forever-glue. So I challenged myself to figure out a pose for a figure with it's head to the left. So this Marine is looking back while his weapon and torso remain pointed "foward". I envision him at a corner behind cover looking back to see if his squadmates are ready to charge in after he blasts whatever is around the corner. -
Bolter Conversion Cerceus Pattern

Bolter conversion to eliminate the oversized (and non-functional) front sight post, moved the barrel up to be in line with the charging handle, moving the targeter nub underneath the barrel. -
