  1. Guess whos Back? Back again, Pyros Back, tell a Friend. Guess whos back? Guess whos back? Guess whos back? Guess whos back? nah nah nah.... Sorry impromptu Eminem lyrics out of the way long ago in a forum not so far away I was but a humble lurker of the hallowed halls of hobby wonderment but then i couldnt help myself any longer and posted my first thread which led to many conversions and much painting fun and shenanigans. I even entered in a couple ETL's and a few other competitions the names of which i cant for the life of me remember and as it does life for me kept on moving and i like im sure many of you suffer from wicked hobby ADHD like its bad like real bad and my tiny plastic spacemen ended up shelved to see a short resurgence some time around 2018? idk somewhere around there and then when Papa Nurgle came to visit and you would think would have been prime time for some hobby action you would be wrong because i was "lucky" enough to be deemed an essential worker being at the time i was firearms salesman at a local shop which meant no time off and any spare time i had was unfortunately not dedicated to my plastic crack addiction hiding in rubbermaid tubs in my garage. Then Xmas 21' happened and my wonderful wife got me an Elegoo Mars 2 Pro and about 8kg of resin which is basically like someone handing you the keys to a forgeworld so of course like any self respecting nerd would do i set out to print the most ridiculous thing i could figure a way to print which at the time was a lucius pattern warh... Wardoggo Big Stompy Bot which i could never justify actually buying but i mean it was just there on cults 3D just saying "print me pyro print me" and i was like no its wrong IP and all that. and the Stompy Bot was like " but they dont even sell me any more and youre a modeler you dont even play 40k you nerd" and i was like rude but your probly rite. So i downloaded the STL's for that model and you know just a couple others nothing crazy only like 732GBs worth and got to printing. yes i printed the whole thing besides the pistons in translucent resin and no theres no reason why im painting this monster for sure . Now I am aware that in our hobby 3D printing is and kind of has been a touchy subject but like the Stompy Bot said i am but a humble modeling nerd ive maybe played 5 games of any sort using any of the thousands of dollars worth of official citadel models ive accumulated since i was teenager slopping testors model paint onto my 3rd edition black templars in short its 99.9999% about the models for me so everything i build is to rule of cool standard and will rarely actually fit proper rules unless theyre the rules for a comp or something. My goal here is to hopefully keep my motivation up too keep the hobby train rolling ive got an aboslutely massive pile of shame from as far back as the betrayal at Calth box and even further not to mention the plate after plate of models i keep adding to said pile cuz i just cant help myself at present the pile is home too lots and lots of Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Grey Knights, Custodes, Sisters of Silence and Battle, Admech, Eldar, Necrons, Orks, Tyranids, Tau, an imperial Knight, a Titan, as well as a growing collection of epic/AT scale models of all the aformentioned factions, but wait theres more you didnt think i'd leave out the Chaosy goodness did you? in the works are warbands and deamons daemons demons idk i always forget but ive got a little bit of every flavor except for Tzeentch not that i dont have of few STC's with scarabs n such ready to be sliced and summoned forth from the goopy forge. torsos and legs for my death corpse of cheese ranged and close combat arms Comander Dwayne the Rock Johnson and some nice lady with a big sword with there hotshot friends this little gem crew included took 6hr 37 min to print fully intact and cost me a whopping $1.27 You can do so much more than print your models though turns out need a wet palette? print one or three. Need a brush holder? print one of those too. Besides finally getting that titan my mom said i couldnt have when i was 14 (i showed you mom) there was another line of models i always lusted after largely due to there incredible detail and that was the larger scale inquisitor line which was dieing out as i was first coming into the hobby but i always wanted some of those models just for the fun of painting and converting something a bit bigger. Now that can be any model i want i can even do multiple scales of the same sculpt and even print physical censor bars to cover up the bits too naughty for our virtuous hobby halls. Anywho i look forward to getting more perspectives and sharing ideas about this ever changing world of plastic and resin crack any c&c are always greatly appreciated.
  2. I want a Daemon Prince for my Iron Warriors but the GW ones don’t appeal to me. I feel that, for the Iron Warriors, it should be more machine than demon, aka, more Iron than flesh. Looking for alternatives, I saw some interesting conversions but not exactly what I wanted either. Until I run into the Cryx models for Warmachine. In the end I’ve bought the Corruptor/Reaper/Malice kit that would officially give these 3 variants: http://www.thecombatcompany.com/assets/full/PIP-34125.png While I actually love the model as it is, I would like to modify it a bit to look more 40k-ish but I am not sure how. I was originally thinking of kitbashing using a head that would look closer to the skull of the IW and adding something to make it a winged-daemon prince, preferably not actual wings but something like a thruster, although I fear this would look ridiculous. I actually like the arms that come in the kit, although it could be interesting to have an option for a heavy cannon instead. Do you know of any parts that could fit or should I venture into the world of greenstuff? Do you have any other ideas? Thank you beforehand!
  3. Hello all. So, in attempting to see how the Space Wolves Resources thread is doing, it would appear the previous Shopping For Space Wolves thread is gone, having cavorted off into the void somewhere. This is my attempt at a replacement. http://www.games-workshop.com While this is by no means an extensive full bits available bits list, this is at least an attempt to provide an idea of where to start in each area. Note: I am in the US, so, after selecting a different country flag, you may need to navigate back to the item through some effort. No Forge World, yet, for now. I hope to see if this becomes useful, and if so, or if a Mod wishes to, add FW kits later. One final thought before the reader continues: if you have the time and are willing to learn, you will save money by magnetizing. There are threads here and other users in the Fang can be asked to aid you, so, please, by all means, ask questions, and learn at your own pace. Each Great Company can have more than one WGBL, any entry in this list) - Same bits process as WL in PA/RA above Wolf Guard Battle Leader on Bike - Same as the WGBL in PA/RA, requires SM Biker Legs Wolf Guard Battle Leader, in Terminator Armor - SM or SW TDA bits, from the entire range of Terminator Armor wearing models, can be used to combine into whatever kitbash Wolf Guard Battle Leader you prefer Wolf Priest in PA/RA, optional Jump Pack or Bike (Mutually Exclusive choices, here) - Space Marine or Space Wolves Power Armor legs, either for a bike, or on foot (On foot, I prefer the wolf pelt legs in the SW PA box) - Space Wolves front torso with wolf skull, is my personal preference - Space Wolves rear torso with wolf pelt, if not using a jump pack; normal back plate if you plan to have a Jump Pack - Left Arm, pistol (BP or PP) - Right Arm, starting from the PA Thunder Hammer, cut the head of the hammer bit off just above the power plate. Glue on the Space Wolves winged skull banner - Wolf Head Helm, in plastic, for the head - Backpack to your choice Wolf Priest on Bike: Please see the directly above entry Wolf Priest in Terminator Armor - So long as you have a Crozius Arcanum, and know how to model one, anything goes (If ideas and inspiration need to aid you) - SW Terminator Box, pick the wolf pelt legs - SW Termy Box, pick the torso of your liking, I think one has a wolf skull on the front - SW Termy Box, rear torso of your choice - SM/SW Termy Box, you will need to either kitbash a Crozius Arcanum similar to the one listed in the PA/RA WP section, see the last point in this subgroup below - Likely a Storm Bolter on one hand - I personally used careful clipping to convert two SM TDA Chaplains into SW Wolf Priests in TDA by cutting the left arm of the original model and building a replacement for the upper arm out of SW TDA left arm bits from the SW TDA Box. If you wonder where to cut, cut the finecast left arm with the flat of the cutting clippers towards the hand, just behind the left arm bracer, and keep the Crozius portion. On the SW TDA Box bits, this time turn the clippers so the flat side is towards the upper arm, and cut the arm just above the bracer. If done right, you should end up with a very neat and clean join, and a simple conversion. Rune Priest in PA/RA, maybe on Bike, might have a Jump Pack - SW PA box Runic legs - SW Front Torso to personal taste - SW Rear Torso to personal taste - Weapons options vary, however, any power weapon can be painted up to look like a Force weapon, instead. If you are unsure, please use the search function, or have a look in the Hall of Honor forum section. Some conversions work, others do not; you, and you alone, decide on which work, and which do not. - One option that was used for some of my custom RP's was the SW PA Box two-handed Power Axe, then, cut off the axe head and trim enough from the back to make it just an extension of the rest of the Staff. Afterwards, clip out and glue two of the Space Wolves Wolf Skulls from any WS PA Box sprue, on the now Force Staff, giving it a look at before you fully let the glue dry. Rune Priest in Terminator Armor - I am not really an owner of any TDA RP's, outside of Njal - Legs might be best simple, wolfy, or, if you have Green Stuff skills, it could be worth it to customize some bits - Torso pieces should make sense to you - Arms and weapons, likely Storm Bolter and some kind of Force Weapon (Staff, Sword, Axe, etc.) Wolf Guard Pack Leader in PA/RA, maybe on a Bike, might have a Jump Pack - If you want to individualize all your WGPL's, by all means do so - I have all my WGPL's with the same look, just different heads - Runic PA Legs - Ribbon Torso Front - Any normal PA Rear Torso piece - I personally have, in the past, made Power Fist / Storm Shield WGPL's... - That typed, I am going to, once the Codex comes out, build some WGPL's with Combi-Plasma for each; their other weapon might be a Chainsword or Power Sword Wolf Guard Pack Leader in Terminator Armor - This one may take some doing, however, for those that are fine with footslogging all their units, a model out front with, hopefully, a 2+/5++ and possible 3++ is really going to make a difference. The fact that any SM in TDA of any type goes to 2 Wounds does not hurt at all. Just remember, no TDA wearing models in Rhinos or Razorbacks; Drop Pods, the TDA model takes up 2 PA slots (8 other pack members allowed, total is still 10). - Legs to choice - Front and Rear Torso choices, to personal choice - Weapons vary greatly - Check all relevant books before finalizing your planned builds Lastly, when in doubt, magnets are your friends. If you have questions, please, feel free to ask around, especially here. There should, in time, even be a Magnetization thread linked in the Space Wolves Resources Thread. --- The Horus Heresy, Warhammer 30,000; quick entries, and GW website Mark III and Mark IV Power Armor Boxes Burning of Prospero (Source for the Mark III PA Box, below) https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Burning-of-Prospero-ENG Betrayal at Calth, added to one box of Burning of Prospero (Betrayal at Calth is the source for the Mark IV PA Box, below) https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Betrayal-at-Calth-and-Burning-of-Prospero-Bundle Mark III Power Armor Box https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Mark-III-Space-Marines Mark IV Power Armor Box https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/horus-heresy-mark-IV-space-marines Forge World (The original source for the Horus Heresy, the above four entries, BoP, BaC, Mark III, and Mark IV, are plastic; almost everything at Forge World is resin, by and large) https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/FW-Home Edit: - This post will hopefully be updated, over time, as new kits and options become available - If you see anything you want me to add, please, reply with what you think will aid people, and I will add it to the lists above

  5. The Black Legion represents the history of all the Heretic Astartes in the galaxy; cast from the light to return strengthened from the maws of hell. They are the legacy of the primarchs, remade into a new and terrible form. For better or for worse, the new legion of the long war is an even more distorted image of the mighty space marine hosts than many of the other traitors. Soldiers, corsairs, butchers, fanatics and everything in between can be found in equal measure among Abaddon's subordinates, yet one of the Warmaster's most renowned armies is made of men that consider themselves "true" legionaries. Corrupted in body, but not in mind, the warband known as the Dreadreavers is the echo of an age gone by. With boltguns in their hands and vengeance in their hearts, these warriors have been fighting at the forefront of the Long War to see the False Emperor fall. Hello! My name's Horrible, and this is my (slooooow) hobby thread, where I intend to write about the creation of my Heretic Astartes warband - the Dreadreavers, a Black Legion battlegroup that shares a large and unhealthy amount of similarities with the former 16th legion. Aside from pictures of conversions or semi-decent paintjobs, I also wanna take a little time to tell the stories of the characters and some of the units in the army. From their beginning as one of the more infamous companies of the Luna Wolves to the organisation of the warband they'd eventually become, I want touch upon everything. I'm not sure how active I'll end up being, but I hope to post regularly, so that there's something new to see here every other week. So stick around if I peeked your interest! I'll post the first few pictures soon.
