It only just hit me earlier that this year will be my 30th in the hobby, so I thought it would be a good time to start a new project (yes another one), instead of just 'starting another army' I thought I should do something different to mark the occasion. After some head scratching and beard chewing I have decided to go back to my roots and do a first edition army log. My aim is to build two forces using the original army lists with some RT era terrain for them to fight over, eventually leading to some old school batreps to mark the completion of the project. For the forces in question I have decided to do something we dont see much of every day... SQUATS!!! and MOAR SQUATS!!! Well technically Squats and Khornate Chaos Squats with a smidgeon of World Eaters thrown in as allies. Eventually Ill add in some Tzeentch Squats and some Legion of the Damned as well (dont worry, they will all be in Mk6 armour for that nostalgic vibe). Decided for the bulk of the forces I will use the Wargames Atlantic Einherjar, heavy weapons teams will use the Wargames Atlantic Grognard weapons with Einherjar crewmembers. World Eaters I already have ready to be painted and the LotD will be using the FW Mk6 kit. All scenery will be made out of any old gubbins and doodads I find laying about the house, as was the way back in the Dark Age of Technology. For the moment I will build the forces to 2000 points to start off with to get the bare minimum needed for legal armies done, then I will start adding in more juicy things. Currently flipping between multiple books trying to work out the armies in advance, I think I can squeeze 2k of Squats out of a full box and 4 additional sprues of Einherjar, an actual army for under £40 pleases me greatly, Ill be ordering a couple of sprues at the weekend to build my Warlord and Hearthguard squad, the spare mini will be the basis of my Khorne Squat Lord...

Hello everyone, I'm kicking myself that I should of made a post a while back to show my progress on what I'm making but never mind, I'll post projects I'm working on here now. To begin is a Legion of the Damned force with an Inquisitorial Investigation team I've been working on for a couple of weeks. In this Lotd project I have sculpted, push cast and converted up minis to fit in with the (2008-2009?) style damned models, I'm not a massive fan of the everything on fire damned that people do just not my cup of tea, I have listed below things that are included or going to be included I am still thinking of what else to put in the force and I am open to suggestions, I will probably add an overwhelmed unit of marines converted up to look battered and be the reason for damned being there. I'm not adhering to any game rules for this force this is just to make an awesome looking army. The Models so far: - 1 Sgt Centurius, 1 Standard Bearer, 3 legionnaires - 3 Sgts, 16 Legionnaires - 1 Dreadnought - 5 Terminators - 12 Storm Troopers Models to come: Inquisitor Kyria Draxus - To be converted Inquisitorial Rhino - Plus Forgeworld parts Reinforced armour, Inq hatch/rear ramp and green stuff Inq doors and front Legionnaires - more standard marines to convert or something not sure yet.

Alright, been thinking about this a little bit recently, so I think it would be fun to mention. How would you guys like the Legion of the Damned to return to 40k? I don't believe you can get the models anymore, and they all but faded into the background when once they were probably one of the biggest mysteries of 40k. Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeming them as the imperium demons faction. Basically ghosts from the imperium where the loyal followers have been taken after death into an afterlife run by big E. Have them be more than just space marines, maybe some imperial guard thralls and such... and maybe bring back a dead primarch to lead them to have a big model. Of course my ideas could be crap but hey, it's not like it's going to happen anyways, right? how would you guys want them to return?

From the album: Grey Knights 9th Brotherhood
A rare phenomenon sees a group of lost brothers that perished along with the terminators of Grand Master Mordrak supporting the Grey Knights of the 9th Company.-

From the album: Grey Knights 9th Brotherhood
The primary strike force of the 9th Brotherhood comprises of Grand Master Malakai himself and his Librarian Brother Eratosthenis and their retinue of Paladins. With them a squad of veteran Interceptors and two Dreaknights make landfall. Lastly in missions of high importance the Imperial Knight Free Blade Odysseus, seconded to the Ordo Malleus, also takes part. A rare occurrence is fallen brothers appearing to support them when things seem to be at their hardest (count as LotD)-

question about detachment for legion of damned 1. Is it possible to have legion of damned and assassin in same vanguard detachment? 2. Is it okay to have in a vanguard detachment : 1 HQ - captain, 2 Elite - terminators & legion of damned?
