Hello Warlords of the Chaos wastes! I have been playing 40k since 5th edition, and with the release of 10th, I wanted to try and make an incredibly challenging and immersive large game for my player group. The inclusion of boarding action rules making the jump from 9th to 10th helped inspire me to do this, as well as a general love of siege warfare picked up from playing the Iron Warriors. To summarise, in this mission, the attacker must break past my Iron Warrior blockade and into Warsmith Du'Rak's fortress. They are to locate and rescue a powerful navigator the Iron Warriors captured on a previous raid, to prevent them from learning of secret warp routes. The fortress is shielded from teleportation, so the attacker cannot initially deep-strike a terminator squad to clear the place out. Instead, they must storm the walls and break in themselves. While an incredibly difficult mission for the attacker (by my estimate) I am hoping the overall challenge, complexity, and immersion (I plan to have a system in place where the Navigator's master will be relaying information to the attacker as the game goes forward) of the mission will attract players from my group to try it, in particular, a good friend of mine who plays Imperial Fists (while mortal enemies on the tabletop, I ensure you that IF and IW players are the best of friends from a shared love of walls and trenches) who I'm certain will love to give this mission a go. I went and got the boarding actions terrain kit from my LGS and have only just finished cutting it out of the sprue. I've noticed that while doing some test assembly that the double wall pieces don't slot in very easily, so I'll need to file that down sometime in the future. For now, here is the set up for my interior stronghold. Those who have Arks of Omen Abaddon will recognise the setup from one of the scenarios, and this is because that mission breaks the board into five chambers, which is what I wanted to do for my castle. This is going to go behind a large wall, and the attacker will need to enter at one of the three objective markers, either by storming the main gate (entry 2) or by getting models atop the outer wall and "embarking" into one of two towers (entries 1 and 3) What I want to do to amp up the difficulty even more is cover each chamber with a bit of cardboard in the shape of the room so that the attacker will effectively be going into each room blind. Each chamber will also have a lot of scatter terrain in it to convey a rooms purpose, stuff like an armoury, command centre, that sort of thing. The hostage the attacker will need to collect will be in the medical facility (here marked with a hated Imperial Fist Chibi). I did see Mantic games has a sci-fi terrain set which I will get to act as terrain. For the moment however I'd like to make a start on the main walls. I've elected to paint my walls in this style, as found in Duncan Rhodes' Painting Academy tutorial on youtube. As a general rule, I like to write up the steps found in these style tutorials, which makes it easier for me to reference whenever I'm actually painting. That's all I have for my first post. I have one set of walls set up to be painted (funnily enough the type found in Duncan's tutorial, purely because they slotted in easiest without need of further intervention) which I hope I can show in my next update. I will also hope to expand further into the mission rules. See you then, Spiros14

This is thread I am going to show what I am doing in the hobby, and what I have done. It will be all Chaos related, mostly Iron Warriors which is my main army, but also some Death guard, in an Iron warrior scheme, some depraved daemons, and the odd knight or two. More to come in the future. Cpt.Danjou

Greetings fellow Warsmiths …… and other legion commanders opposed to the corpse emperor. Welcome to the 37ths Dodekatheon, please ensure all weapons of mass destruction are appropriately stored and all war engines are parked within the marked bays. In this thread you’ll find my musings and ideas for running my Iron Warriors Grand Company in 10th. I’m not an overly competitive player and haven’t got much interest in taking them to a tournament. However they are my main faction for 10th and will frequently be on the table at our Friday club nights, my main thinking with these lists is they have to be able to punch up and pull there punches as the club has all comers from tournament custodes and eldar to fluffy middle of the road armies and even a few poor deathguard and votann players. Feel free to get involved, as this is the space is to chat about the army and list evolution rather than hijacking other threads.

So I think some of you might still remember me and the insane chaos horde I had amassed over the years. For those of you with sharp eyes sadly yes I said had. A failing marriage and the financial difficulties it brought on saw me sell my entire 40K collection minus Papa Nurgle, a Baneblade, and a couple infantry models that held special meaning to me. I focused more on Magic the Gathering for a while as it got me out of the house. I actually made it to the pro tour, not half bad for an escape. But this post isn't all grim dark, I have been slowly returning to the hobby over the past year of single life. I've built up a small army and even played about a dozen games. Undefeated baby! Looks like the rust didn't have too much time to settle in. "But what is the point of this rambling?" I hear you ask. Well I actually plan to open my own game store at the start of next year specializing in Magic and Warhammer. So I should probably dive back into my favorite miniature game if I'm going to try and make a living off it. I want to have my army in fighting form by the time I open my doors, and build and paint up a couple small display armies of other factions as well. Bolter and Chainsword always was one of my biggest motivating factors to get models painted up and try out new techniques. So I have returned to chronicle the rebuilding of 44th Grand Company as I dive back into the deep and familiar waters of Chaos. ~~~ Warsmith Osbert gazed across the battlefield thick with smoke from the still burning fires. They had won, but could anyone really call this a victory? The once mighty 44th had been devastated. Thousands of his brothers were dead, only enough to reform a couple squads remained in sight. All of his God Machines had gone critical, burning with the fury of dying stars, destined to walk no more. They had been betrayed by their once most stalwart of allies. The Black Legion. The 44th must have grown too large, too powerful, for Abaddon to allow them to coexist. Osbert silently thanked the Chaos Gods that the Despoiler had not deigned them worthy of his own presence this day. He vowed to make Abaddon regret this oversight as he strode off to marshal what forces yet lived. He had a forgeworld to reclaim, and God Machines to build. The Black Legion would know his fury. All of the new models: The Infantry: The HQ's: The Bikey Bois I love the extra armor I found for this predator. I hope by the time I get some more I remember where I got it from Although these guys got a rather hefty nerf I bought them because they had giant guns and I thought they looked cool to be honest haha My only 2 Super Heavies left:
