Thanks Biohazard.  Pretty much ever marine type army I've collected have always had Dreadnought.  Just always been cool models end of the day.

 

Also looking back, past three year I've been painting up a Dreadnought for my Iron Warriors on the 24th December.  Forge World IW model 2012, another in 2013 & then start Mayhem Pack last year.

I want to try get the Cultist formation one done, so possible have that toward Call of Chaos.  Convert the cultist with Cadain & Mechanicus models.  While Dreadnought it self would try follow look of the 2nd ed era Dreadnought & art work from last ed codex Chaos.

I'd also still like to get the 5x Dreadnought formation done theme them around a Havoc type unit.  Also having all these, be cool try out a unbound army.

 

But right now just focuse on getting the Terminators unit added & allow me to field them in unbound games as well :D  Get my Mechanicus army on the go as I'm really enjoy building & painting the models.  Felt painting the models today, because I knew how I want them to look, just how fast it was to get them to that stage vs when I was work out idea & they;d take a few weeks - only have Wed/Saturday toward painting my own models.

It just trying get time to write a army list & read the rules in the codex :D

Update

 

First up, I was that a local wargaming show today - Carronade in Falkirk.  While I was busy with Bring & buy table, sell off spure.  I'd give a few friends a list of models to keep a eye out for & let me know, just Bring & buy always busy & I never really get to leave there until time finish.  Mainly OOP models which can be hit or miss & bitz.

 

Well, on that list was a 2nd ed era metal Chaos Dreadnought.  I've already shown the classic model that I have in my Iron Warriors since 2001, was repainted this time last year to re-join the ranks & to gain more glory & honour for the 5th Grand Company.

Just I like the model & though if there one that this event I'd try pick it up, but I did doubt it, as said can be hit or miss...................

 

5 min, one my friends come up with a box asking if that was the model.  Person selling it know me from local event & later on (after bring & buy time slot was finish) when i went to say thanks.  They commented they where going to try see me before the event started & let me know they where selling a lot 2nd ed era Chaos model & that they where happy the Dreadnought was going to a good home.

 

After I finish with bring & buy............another group friends show up, tell me there another Dreadnought for sale. 

So yes, got two metal Chaos Dreadnought now & a really good price.  All complete & prett much like brand new, they've not been paint strip or any glue been use on them.

Just really wired how that all happen.  As said I never really exspect to get one never mind two & for a really good price as well.  Also both models are White Metal.

Also got a few other bitz, Marine & Eldar part as trophies for my Berzerker Rhino

Also bit more on Mechanicus.  Since last update, I've added turft grass & water effect.  There few more bits of detail but that will need to wait until Wed due to today being spent that the local Wargaming event.

Just re-watch the Hobbit battle of the five armies get some idea as well.  Also with tomorrow off, I'm going to get the Rhino transport for my Berzerker converted up.

 

Also found one of the first Berzerker who was part of my 2001 era Iron Warriors.  Found him in a case while looking for models for the wargaming event along with a few other Iron Warriors from 2001 just when the Chaos Marine squad got updated, before that it was useing Berzerker box set with Tactical Marines back then.  I think I spotted a few more battle brother from this unit in a box, double check that tomorrow & get them for the display cabints.  Also found my Land Raider from 2001 I've posted before, which will also join them as part of my Iron Warriors history.

Thanks AlanofAngels.  Yes I've always kept really important models.  From the first model I painted in 1996, to the Black Legion Chaos Lord my first conversion a few weeks into the hobby & White Dwarf 202.
Then there Warsmith Abhorred Riddick I shown a while back along with his Daemon Prince (current) version & a update version just see/way I paint now/display only.

 

I just need to try sort out 60mm base. 

I got next Sunday & Monday off.  Hopeful next Sunday get this lot, Lord & Terminators all built up during the day.

Quick question - Trying to think of idea toward the Berzerker Rhino hatch (top one).  Some of them are

- Iron Warrior icon (base on the Heresy era Forge World art work shown).  Ether keep it as it is or change it a little with more spike type look?
- Warhammer World open day, pick up Khorne icon brass etching use along with the IW icon.  Would only be a handful being use.  But I do plan on converting the Bloodborn unit from Khârn: Eater of World novel for Call of Chaos?

 

Just right now I'm not really find any Khorne icon that stand out.  Just to show this is a Berzerker rhino.  I've got FW Chaos Guard kit that I've use for my Dreadnought, Comptetor & my object marker: Standard Bearer of the 5th Grand Company.  I'm also going add few vampire count skeleton with bard wire (FW brass etch) around them.

Want to try show this tank a little bit more beaten up as well & painting wise will see a bit of Blood for the Blood god on the out armour as part of there thing & to please the machine sprit of the Rhino transport.

Hopeful get the Rhino built by end of today so it ready for painting.  If not, I've got more Mecahnicus so I've got some my own models paint this week :D  Just waiting on a lot bitz order to arrive for my Terminators & Lord so they can be converted on my day off this weekend along with the two classic Dreadnought.

How about combining the World Eater Heresy etched brass with the Iron Warrior symbol. So it would be the jaws instead of a chaos star. I could even send you up so HH World Eater etched brass.

Update

 

I got the Rhino built yesterday, not included crew & combi bolter.  Then spent some time today getting the metal armour done with help from leadbelcher spray.  Just due to this part taken the longest, want to try get as much of the Rhino painted tomorrow, along with finish painting the new models I added last week for the Mechanicus.

 

Also for the first time, I've use the plastic bits from filter (water filter?) for the rivits.  Just this was suggested in Forge World model masterclass Vol1. 

Just in the past I'd use plastic rods for rivits, but it did take a little time & I'm being careful with the amount I've got left right now.  I usely bought plasticard material from a store in Glasgow, but it seem the orignaly people who own the store sold it on & it apprently not great.  It a shame as myself & a lot other use the store during the NQ-HND model making course.

 

However I'm hopeing to check the model store some point this month in Edinbrugh where I pick up the MIG pigmint fixer back 2012 for trying out the FW weather powder & seal it to the tanks.  Going to see what stuff they sell & hopeful use them as a future place pick up plastic H beam, tubes & rods.

- Going to get the Rhino painted tomorrow & finish painting the 5 Mechanicus models I was painting last week.

- Sunday & Monday (afternoon):  Going to start building my Terminators, Chaos Lord & both Dreadnought.  Monday aim to get a lot undercaoting & use leadbelcher spray on these new models.  I also have five more Mechanicus models to build, so I might use this toward my second unit of Ranger.

Still a lot to finish for this model but it will have to wait until next week due to being really busy from tomorrow to Sunday.  Hopeful get time to paint the Rhino on Tuesday or Friday next week & then try get Forge World weather powder done next weekend.

 

Also just pick up another box for my Dark Mechanicus so I can start my second Ranger unit.  I'm going have a proper read that the codex in next few days & work out a 1850pts army list.  Just really like these models, there really great to paint.  Also my friend finish Mechanicus army look cool & just look cool when there gaming.

Thanks to Biohazard, a spare 60mm base arrive today.  I'm going to wait until Sunday to get both Dreadnought built along with Terminators, Lord & Mechanicus armies.  Also going to spend a bit of time on Monday afternoon, all goes to plan building & getting all the undercaot work done so I can start painting these models as soon as possible.

Also bitz order arrive.  Order from Bitz box to help toward Terminators & Khârn (FW) head for my Terminator Champion & Lord (power armour) from Egg Head Miniatures.  Along with Eldar part & Necrons a few friends given me to use for Trophies.  Also Red Scorpain Honour Guard helmet from my friend who move to USA will be added to one of my Terminators to mark the 7000pt game I fought last year before they move.

Just return from the warhammer world open day today. Got a big update for that and what I've bought. All I can say is go to warhammer world, check display and diorama's.

I've just return a hour ago after being down in Nottingham for the Warhammer World open day. Really great day, lot of epic hobby stuff & pick up a lot Forge World & event only - IW t-shirt for exsample.

 

Though I let people see this.

Spolier tag: I really highly suggest people go to Warhammer World. Spolier tags incase memeber are not wanting to see this & waiting until they get to Warhammer World for them selfs.

 

I had no idea what I'd be seen & when I want to the display, ever thing was cool, all the diorama's where really inspire. I had to spend time delete photos to make space for today after already delete 200 before this event. Just this is really great & be honsty not photos will do it any justice vs seen this in the flesh. Just really inspire & a lot hard work went into this board. It really big, the diorama would never fit into my house for exsample. I know Throne of Skulls I'm going spend more time looking that this board.

Quick update

 

Yesterday I was down that Nottingham for the Warhammer World re-grand open, with on going work for just about a year give or take?  It was a really great event, really enjoy being down there & seen all the changies.

Like wise the new display where really cool, lot great hobby & then the one I posted in spolier pretty much had me in a hobby shell shock because of how cool it is.
It somthing people really need to see for them self's.  Already know I'm going be spend a lot more time check that display again when I'm that Throne of Skulls.

Then with today off, just to recover from the travel side.  I though I would get as much models built during today.......... but it was a struggle.  It taken me from 10.30am until 5pm just to get these five models built.  Just I don't react when travel for a few hours.

I've just got the Champion to convert up.  But I'm waiting on a Forge World order to arrive, just few things that where not there during yesterday.

Just around 8pm starting building my second Ranger unit.  I've got two more models to build, though one going to have to wait until I can get another Plasma.  While the last model going to be swap with the unit I painted a while back due to forgetting to add the wargear -1 to cover save.

Update

 

It been a week now since I've painted which has most like been the longest in past few years I've went with out painting.  After Warhammer World open day & seen all the cool stuff, want to try get as much hobby done as possible

Yesterday was spent getting the two classic Metal Dreadnoughts, 3 Terminators & part of my next Mechanicus unit undercaoted & leadbelcher spray (Dread/Terminators) done.  As well as starting work on painting the Dreadnought last night.  So here how everything looking.

Work started on the Ranger unit, but I might hold back on painting them until next week.  Also got five unbuilt Mechanicus models that I'm hopeful going to convert with Dark Eldar models to help finish the Vanguard unit.

With the army, I'm really not sure what I will have in my 1850pts.  Going to wait until the other Mechanicus codex is release as right now I want to add that least one of each unit.  I'm really like the Kataphron Battle Servitors, was also suggested about possible useing these models & converted up some cool Havocs for my Iron Warriors during the Warhammer World open day.

 

But here what I got so far.

 

I've recent remove this model arm as I forgotten to give him the wargear the -1 to oppent conver saves.  Hopeful get this finish on Friday as well while painting one of the two metal Chaos Dreadnought.

Also to quickly ask - The Radio part, do they have any effect wargear/army list wise (please point me page number in the Mechanicus codex if this is the case) or just for looks?  Just I added it onto the Ranger model because it look cool.

Is the blood oath book worth a purchase? I've seen a couple of the formations from it and they look promising. Is there decent fluff artwork in it as well? Those parts are really important to me. Your dreads are gonna look awesome once you get the arms on them and I really like the colour scheme your Dark Mech

I think it is.  I like it, it got really cool background about the Warhammer World display which added on to how cool it is.  Mostly, it had really great photos of the diorama which I spent a lot time travel back home, checking.  Just for me, this was really great & when I saw the display I'm seen it from a hobbiest point of view, seen it for idea point of view & then I'm see it from my NQ-HND model making course point of view.

 

It £12.  I'm still reading through the background.  Just ever time I've pick up the book I've just ended up going to the photos of the model & still in hobby shell shock how cool it was.

So far I'm really like the background I've read.  About the Ultramarine Chapter gathering, about the FW Bloodthister using a Chaos Lord to start a sort of blood crusade.  There a lot there & it really cool, it all cover point that you can see on the display, like the Grey Knights or Scout.  So I know next time I see the display there going to be a lot more cool things I'll be looking out for after reading the background.

 

Dread - Yes just waiting.  Hopeful Forge World part arrive today.  I'm looking forward painting Mechanicus models next week.  Got a lot idea for this army & most all amount bitz I'm going to get for future Iron Warriors.  Got a lot idea for Call of Chaos & just in general to add to both armies.  Also really need to try get around & finish my Chaos Guards.

Your not seen the positive.  It a good excuse for you to travel down to Warhammer World & see all these cool display.  Just been checking the photos other people from the open day event of the Chaos vs Ultra & just so much cool stuff I'm going to need to keep a eye out for next time seen the display.

 

Update

 

Forge World order arrive today, just parts that where not in stock during the Warhammer World open day.  Arms for both metal Chaos Dreadnought & the Khorne Chaos Lord who will be use toward the new Terminator Champion & Lord in power armour conversion.

Just started painting the metal Chaos Dreadnought yesterday.  I'm hoping to get a few hour tomorrow to get bit more painting done, just get chip effect & also add IV letter/rune marking to the black armour plate to the (model) left.

Just bought a box of the new Mechanicus models.  Really unsure how I want my 1850 army list to look right, I'm going to wait until the second Mechanicus codex is release.  But I am looking forward getting these models built some point during the week.  Also was given idea during the Warhammer World open day about possible useing these models to convert up a unit of IW Havocs which could be cool & somthing I will thinking about for Call of Chaos.  Also allow me to re-read some of the Honsou short stories for further ideas.

But right now these will be built as standard servitors & use in my Dark Mechanicus army.

Terminators I started painting on Wed.  Just spent best part today getting as much done.  Still add Blood for the blood god & a few other bit detail to finish painting.  Then it just convert up the Champion - time permitting I'd like to get the conversion done tomorrow.

This photo not mine - This was posted up during the Warhammer World open day of future FW release of the IW transfer.  Just recently I have been thinking about adding a 4th Knight model to my army sooner than later.  There really great models to build & paint.  Also just to make this my Warlord - when useing the Knights as a stand alone army.
I really want to try convert somthing specil but unsure what.  Same time I'd like to try add idea from the FW IW transfer sheet onto the model - Shoulder pad, part armour & loin cloth.  Just want somthing cool.

Just need to wait on a few things, but I'd like to try get the Knight next week so I can work out conversion.  I'll be aim add more trophies to this one as well.

So yes lot to paint right now.

 

- 2x Metal Chaos Dreadnought get painted.  Hopeful get that least one of them finish this week.  Got there arm (FW order today) sort out.

- Terminators (apart from Champion) almost there.  Just need a hour tomorrow.

- Second unit of Mechanicus ranger to paint this week during two days I set side for my own painting/hobby.

- Build those Sevitor models when time permits.

- Build Champion for Terminator unit when time permits

- Try get Berzerker Rhino varnish tomorrow, add FW weather powder when time permit.

 

I think next stuff going be

- Get Mechanicus army to 1850pts + few extra units.  More will be added in the future, just right now I want to get a army up & running.  Hopeful sort out a list when the second Mechanicus codex is release next weekend.

- Get 4th Knight model sooner than later.

- Possible look into converting those new Mechanicus Servitor models into Iron Warriors Havocs, see Honsou sort stories for idea's as well as re-read Storm of Iron.

No I don't drive - no tolerance toward idiots.  When I'm going down to Nottingham it ether friends who are driving or I get the train from Edinbrugh to Chesterfield (sp?) & there to Nottingham.  Always nice view of the east coast of Scotland & just in general travel to/back & it allow me listen my Ipod incase there are anyone who'd be a issue.  I would general avoid getting the bus down - 9 hours (Glasgow to Nottingham) & I've just had to many bad experince.

 

See how today goes if I'm able to get some conversion work done along with painting.  I've got the Mechanicus ranger for this week painting.
