Thanks Dantioch - I'm really happy to gotten the model of Perturabo.  I'm looking forward to seen what future Iron Warriors related models FW will release over the next while, it was commented the Siege Tyrants where due soon.

 

I think for the destroyed Knight, I'm going for House Terryn.  That way there is colour there on the model but it not draw to much focuse away & a friend already has a few from this house in there Imperial army.  So try get that done during the week.  Try get a bit more painting done for Peturabo in a few hour time, along with green stuff the Siege Knight arm so that also ready to paint.

Quick update

First up, just converted the Champion for my new Heavy Bolter Havoc squad & part of my ETL vow just a hour ago.  So he will get painted in a few days time.  Then the last two Battle Brother for this new unit will be built during the weekend.

Lord of Iron - Mange to get a little bit of time today to start painting the destroyed Knight.  Then tomorrow try add battle damage to that.  Also been painting on/off during Sunday getting bit more detail painted on Lord of Iron himself.  He a really cool model & aim try get him fully painted by the weekend.

Also spent yesterday adding Green stuff to cover up the wooden part on the Skaven bit.  Today been file it all, so aim get this undercaoted tomorrow along with the new Havoc Champion so that ready paint this week as well.

He just been varnish there.  I'm hoping add Forge World weather powder & then it just blood for the blood god & that him finish.  He a really cool model, I think he a really great model & Forge World done really well.  It well worth the three year wait.

Also spent today painting up the right arm for my Siege Knight, which has also just been varnish.  Now it just waiting for those FW Transfer.  I'm going to try pick up clump folaige soon as there a hobby crafted near my local GW store.

Update

 

Mange to get a bit of time today & added the Forge World weather powder as well as Blood for the Blood god.  I might add a bit more blood for the blood god paint in the knight, just thinking the shoulder pad part for exsample.

 

Also just use the Lord of Iron in a game with my (Chaos era) Iron Warriors that 1875pts + free Primarch vs 1875pts Salamander with Vulken.  Just for fun & a what if game.  Was pretty brutal with both Primarch & there honour guard (Lord Narach, Sorcerer & Terminators for me) stuck in combat from turn 2 to turn 6.  Both Lord of Iron & Vulken in a challenge seen them both on a single wound, getting a second wound form it will not die rule only for it to be remove.  While game finish turn 6, we did do a extra turn just see what happen......... vulken did not live :D  But just seen both in games & as said was for fun.  Where now arrange another game where we both have the list we use but included more Knights (4 each) along with our Primarch, again all for fun

Also before the game another friend just give me a box with a few 2nd ed era Metal Chaos models.  One them the Sorcerer, it the same model I use for Krull back 2001 & painted day before Conflict Scotland.
While I have converted a brand new version of Sorcerer Krull in plastic.  Though be cool paint this model as a updated/display version like I done for Warsmith Abhorred Riddick with the metal Chaos Lord & Techmarine model.
There also 2nd ed era Heavy Weapons & a few daemons. 

 

I'll keep the Daemons to one side for now.  I wanted to try re-start my daemons after selling my last army.  But Screamer Council & flying Daemon army list sort of destroyed that for me.  The only two list I've ever refuse to game against to be honsty.
But after painting the Bloodthirster for my IW's force, I would like to try get a army on the go again.

How do you do your GS obliterator virus stuff. It looks ace but I am a total novice at GS and would love to try it out.

Hydra - Yes I'll be adding the Iron Circle when Forge World release them.  I have been thinking about the Shadowsword Baneblade - Tormentor.  See what happen, as said before a lot my Iron Warriors are a on going army, I will always add cool models.  I think that would be pretty cool & just from reading the Angel Exterminatius, be pretty cool try model Soltarn Vull Bronn - The Stonewrought manning the turret. 

 

BrotherJim - Thanks, he a really great model & very grateful that my friend pick the Lord of Iron up during the Forge World open day.  It was also really fun using him in game recently vs my friend Salamander, maybe one of the toughness close combats I've seen in some time, 9 round of combat from turn 2-6.

 

Thousand Eyes - Thanks.  Just Iron Warriors are my favrout army & Legion.  It a army I'll keep adding onto, it all down to adding models I enjoy & converting them.  While I enjoy going to events.  I don't really care what the current "top" army is, like wise it does annoy me in general when a few people do try tell me or my friends what armies we should collect base on what top in the more Hardcore/ETC style events.  It not for me & it never how I've done the hobby. 

 

I collect the armies I enjoy & I go to events to get ether a single day or weekend of gaming, just want fun hard fought games that the end of the day.  Lot those great games led to adding epic theme & history to my units & my army overall.  Few trophies base on oppents I've fought over the years I've collected my Iron Warriors. 

Really enjoy going to Throne of Skulls down in Warhammer World & a lot of the local once ran by gaming clubs here.

 

Obliterators virus - My way just to add green stuff around the area say weapons, shoulder pads.  Just use sculpting tool & just drag the sculpting tool & just try make it random.  Be honesty I'm not really a sculptor, that the most anyone will see me sculpting beyond using green stuff fill gaps or on the base.

I just use the current Games Workshop Obliterators for reference.

 

I've current for my Heavy Bolter Havocs for ETL.  Then I'll go back to the Dark Mechanicus army & try get a 1850pts force ready for gaming, I'll add onto them.  Then I'm looking for a model to add to my Iron Warriors for my week off in September & after that it'll be Call of Chaos.
There also a few models I'll be adding in for Throne of Skulls & maybe adding few thing to current models after seen ToS July rule pack (tanks get a lot of cool special rules & conversion tips for them), so see what they do for future events.

Iron Circle, that's what they are called, I kept thinking Iron Council for some reason! You could always use the new GW plastic robot if FW don't make them. The idea for the Stormblade sounds good, especially with the Stonewrought modeled onto it to.

Update

 

Last week that my wargaming club, one my friends give me a box that had a lot of 2nd ed era metal models.  Havocs, Bloodletter, Horror & this Sorcerer model.

 

It was really cool.  Like Warsmith Abhorred Riddick where I done a recent (last year) Mk2 version just update.  I though I do the same for Sorcerer Krull.  As said a while back, it was this type Sorcerer model I bought back 2002 day before Conflict Scotland to paint up for my IW because he was a cool model.  Krull went on to become a big part of my IW army & history.
When I re-start the army in it current state I went on to convert a plastic version of him during Call of Chaos 2011.

So this model going to get painted as my finial model for this year ETL.

More work on the Knight. I had Sunday off & spent this getting some hobby done & just spent time on the PS4. I've try the clump foliage effect like you can see on Nick Bayton Ultramarine army in Warhammer Vision & few week ago White Dwarf. Also the Chaos vs Ultramarine diorama in Warhammer World. Though be a cool effect to try, theme it around the IW current home planet with in the eye of terror with fume, toxic, etc....

 

I'm still waiting for those IW transfer to be release from FW. But for ETL reason he complete. Just if & when there release, I've never use transfer before & don't want to rush & mess thing up after spend a fair amount time converting & painting this Knight.

I think after all these years I have finally been inspired by you to attempt some Iron Warriors for myself. In the style you have developed herein. I would only do a small force, one or two squads with termies and a lord. I was hoping you could help me out, I'm making a bit of a shopping list, where do you get the delicate servo arms that you are using across the force?

But I cannot place the other ones you are using.

 

Also when you make your t-face helms with bionic eye, which piece are you using for the lens? Do you drill the helmet in preparation.

 

This army really is above and beyond anything I could conceive off, I would just like to make a small warband as a tribute.

Might take a few months to track down all the myriad components. Hope you don't mind!

I'll be jump back to my Dark Mechanicus army.  I'm still unsure what I want to do army list wise, I think I might end up going with the White Dwarf formation as this allow me a bit of everything & try it all out more than anything else.  Then that'll allow me to just keep adding on cool new models & to try out diffrent army list in the future as I get use to useing the Mechanicus in games.

 

Mange to finial get the Mechanicus Tech Priest model during the weekend.  I think I've waited a few month for the model to return in store, just been that way wanted to buy him on the day type thing so I could paint that week but it been a while until he was re-stock & money went to other things hobby wise so I could get some stuff painting during this or that week.

While the Forge World model is another Event only.  Just found out another friend had went to the Forge World open day a while back & pick this up for someone, only for that person no longer wanting it.  So I was offer the model since I am well know as a die-hard Iron Warriors player.
Not quite sure what I will do yet?

 

Also what happen next for the Iron Warriors.

 

- Dark Mechanicus:  As said it to try get this army on the go.  I've been struggle with which way I wanted to go with the army.  I'm ether going to try out the White Dwarf formastion or a friend point out that on the GW web site there a formation on there where it a bit of everything?  Just allow me to get use to them & just as always add cool new models.

 

- Sorcerer.  My Iron Warriors are going to take part in a small event in a month time, on my birthday infact.  It 750pts.  I was going to take a Sorcerer to led the army & though I'd convert up a brand new one useing the Night Lord Terror squad helmet & possible Death Guard MkIII upgrade bodies?  Not quite sure yet.  Right now it just trying get that idea together.

 

- Also need to make a small display useing the old GW movment tray.

Also rememeber a friend army & also Talons of Horus novel.  I though be cool to try convert a one off Thasound Son model to be part of my army.  I'll think of a cool reason why he there in the future. 

 

- Chaos Guards:  I still want to push forward with this Chaos Guard tank army.  So hopeful sort this soon.

 

- Call of Chaos:  Currently planning what units I will be putting forward for this year Call of Chaos.  One them going to be a Bloodborn type unit, see Khârn Eater of World, though be cool & have them as part of my Iron Warriors force.  Also after converting the Berzerker unit, the FW upgrade kits are cool & that the main thing that the end of the day.

Thanks Aasfresser - Yes the Tech Priest model really cool, I think you'll really like build & painting the model.  I've waited two month for him to be re-stock that my local store, just there been a few Mechanicus player & that way when I've been in I need to sort buy a model there & then vs order one.

I've message a friend to see if he got that T-son part spare from the finecast Wolf Lord on Thunder Wolf.  As said from seen your own army & one my friend along with a cool Fallen Angel army back 2000/3rd ed Chaos, both them where armies that always inspired me & always rememeber because of all the cool conversion work.

As said I'm going look into a Bloodborn unit base on Khârn Eater of World, be a cool Kill team style unit.  Also Ukris from Talons of Horus inspiring this unit.
