Mitchverr
Newbie to using space marines and venturing beyond my death korps of krieg for forgeworld reading but thought i would change that with deathwatch, I got curious with reguards to space marine vehicles from forgeworld and was reading the deimos vindicator sheet https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/resources/PDF/Datasheets/Deimos_Vindicator_Laser_Destroyer.pdf (for those wanting it) And saw; "Heavy Support choice for any Space Marines Faction Codex (including Dark Angels, Blood Angels, etc,.)" Would deathwatch not fall under the mantle of space marine faction's "etc"? As it would open up a fair few interesting models i have always thought about getting simply to build and paint but didnt want something i couldnt use i think. Cheers for any help with this, as i said i have not looked into space marine stuff before a couple days ago really and this is a little confusing given the multiple factions. (edit, from what i can gather i think this is the only vehicle with the rules written in such a way, the others name and dont just expand to "any") Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325002-deathwatch-and-forgeworld-assets/ Share on other sites
Race Bannon
I don't see why not. I'd ask the gaming group to be sure. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325002-deathwatch-and-forgeworld-assets/#findComment-4475268 Share on other sites
Silverson
http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk4/ryanlewismeek/deathwatch%20forgeworld%20vehicles.jpg i'm not sure about specifically the demos vindicator but this picture from forgeworlds facebook page gives me the impression that deathwatch can use all vehicles accessible to space marines units from forgeworld (apart from chapter specific ones) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325002-deathwatch-and-forgeworld-assets/#findComment-4475359 Share on other sites
daveNYC
Though it wouldn't hurt to explain why they're rolling with such a big chunk of anti-armor weaponry. It's a tad outside what normally comes to mind when thinking 'Deathwatch'. Because fishmen use tanks, I think anything can be explained and deathwatch can be used in large scale encounters but that's just not what we have seen much of yet. Mitchverr
Given they have landraiders in their armoury, i wouldnt think other things to far out. Slips
Well, lets see: Thunderhawk: I mean, ALL Space Marines have the thing so why shouldn't the Deathwatch? :p Caestus Assault Ram: Sometimes your Kill Team needs to get onto a Space Installation or Space Vessel whilst also needing a bit more control and safety than a Boarding Torpedo. Xiphon Interceptor: This one is probably the iffiest but them Blackstars and Thunderhawks need escorts I guess. It's possibly the most advanced Land Raider Pattern out there and can pack a decent punch. With 6 Capacity you can basically fit a 5man Kill Team + Extra dude inside. Dreadnoughts: So that they can have access to vehicle-grade firepower in a ZM situation such as boarding, clearing an installation or purging an infested cave system. Oh, they've got a big bad beasty? The Leviathans Snippy Claws say hi! They're also more potent than the box dreads though you do pay for it. The last two (LRA and Dreads) also fit the Deathwatch Bill of having rare and fancy gear thats hard to come by.
