Feels good to see all the recent progress grouped together. Other than the castellan, whose sword I keep breaking off. :biggrin.: Magnetized bases, which I am super into these days.

Wanted to get this thread started to log some work I'd done recently, and when the codex comes out hope to continue.

This is Vallejo black airbrush primer, looks shiny from the flash.

The plan is to do a quick white zenithal spray, then work with word bearers red most likely as the main basecoat color.

I see you have Judicar… bad bad man !!

Ready to take some heads and deliver the Emperor’s justice .

Also got the individual shot of Brother-Initiate Dikran after primer and vallejo black. I really like how he turned out. In particular the pattern repetition in the templar cros on his helm, left pauldron, and power fist:

Sprayed the warp talons with black because I want them to match the rest of the army yet to be painted. It was a sort of brick red basecoat, which still appears with the flash, but oh well.

Built the Indomitus eradicators, one of them sans head as I'm also buying the full kit and it looks like there's an extra helm in that for him. Everyone gets a helmet, other than the neophytes, who have yet to fully prove themselves and ascend as initiates.

I want to decorate them with templars purity seals and such but waiting to build a few more things and distribute them evenly.

The puckering step: applying the brightest highlight with the airbrush. Always just goes okay, I think I need to refine my technique to get smoother results. Still, nothing some heavy battle weathering won't cover up.

I also got the shoulders on the neophytes. So bright.

You can’t tell looking at them, the white parts are first sprayed with a vallejo grey primer, then a blue/grey, then white. But this flash just washes everything out. Lighting in that room is not very good.

Building some heavy intercessors now. For a modern kit, the mold lines are pretty :cuss extreme. Still, really cool kit.

Gonna still add purity seals and such but I want to have the full unit (10) built before spreading them out.

More heavies:

Hard to get a good shot of this guy that makes him look as good as I think he looks in person. This one will be the junior officer to command a 5-man unit when not running the full brick led by Brother Erek:

Great work at making them look more expressive and dynamic.

Thank you! I really wanted to avoid having doubles of any pose, and then just kinda went nuts. Had a blast putting them all together. Sprayed 'em black, which is always my favorite step:
