@Grotsmasha thanks, just have to figure our how to paint it. Lol

So ive finished the judiciar:

Judiciar Kayaatu

possessing a mailed fist wrapped with the wooden chains of the Atallan tree, Judiciar Kayaatu wields the cosmic Orb of Alluro, which hypnotizes those who look too hard in its vast cosmic void.

"The Orb contains that which all creatures stem from, the eternal abyss of oblivion. And those who stare too long, find exactly that."

And a 360

Thoughts? Thanks for looking.

Fantastic work!!

Love seeing the detail you are going into in all your conversions and sculpting work! Great looking judiciar, and the jungle gate backgrounds you have been using!!

Also love the heraldry on the tank!

Amazing minis, each one has so much panache.

Thank you! Im glad you enjoy them. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just making purple space wolves (kinda fitting, lol).

Very cool take on the void in a bottle! The cosmic style stuff is pretty popular on Aeldari so to see it adapted to such a small area is certainly an accomplishment.

I havent played eldar since 2nd ed, is that a thing? I appreciate the compliment, i just wanted to do something that was different than the on the nose "hourglass that slows down time bit." Aaaand it allowed me to continue with my thundercats theme...if anyone remembers a character from the lunataks called Alluro.

@Vairocanum @Firedrake Cordova

Thank you, brothers! I dont usually like static models, but I think this one works.

So Ive finished the final guy in this "batch." This will complete my Jochaero (sp?) Vow.

SENESCHAL ATUUL

And a 360.

"Cunning will often enable one to overcome the enemy...that and overwhelmi"Cunning will often enable one to overcome the enemy...that and overwhelming force."

Seneschal Atuul - A maxim he gives to his Acolytes.

He looks great. I know I've said it before, but the wear detailing you've added to the leather (especially the gloves) really does add something to the model.

Thank you! It really does add some needed character to a model with so much leather.

Switching gears, as a pallet cleanser Ive started on the leader to my necron force. Hes taking hravy inspiration from Mumm-Ra. He'll be my stand in for the storm lord.

Background: In my head cannon, as a necrontyr, he was a true believer in the C'Tan. Indeed known as a famous mystic he helped convince the Silent King to conduct the spirit transference ritual. Unlike the rest of the Necrons, he still belives that the C'Tan are gods, and benefits from the "boons" they grant. An outcast to most of his peers, he seeks to elevate himself to the level of the gods he worships. He wears the death bindings of the necrontyr to signify the current state of his transformation. He has "died" and gone from necrontyr to necron, now he hopes to harness enough C'Tan energy to go from Necron to C'Tan. While incredibly cunning, it is clear to most, that he is utterly insane.

So one question remains, what is his name? Any suggestions?

I guess the question is, do you want to name him for how he sees himself, or for what his peers call him behind his back?

Ooooh thats a good question! Lets come up with one of each? Any ideas? Im thinking "(INSERT NAME HERE) The Mad" ....(for the the name his peers call him) anyone know anything about modern necron lore and naming convention?

And i made some small progress. I have to paint this separately, as it would be too hard to get a brush way back behind his cloak, aaaaaand i had to prime by hand because i didnt want to spray prime all over the clear plastic, which incidentally ended up mostly covered anyway. So here is the scarab swarm, flying out of his cloak. I think it turned out pretty decent considering they were all molded out of GS.large.20251114_064921.jpg.861094abd18bff

For himself, something like the Enlightened, or Evangelical, to play on his "spiritual devotion" to the C'Tan.

For his peers, Idolitor is a derogitory / negetive term for a religious fanatic.

So, coutesy of Google of Ancient Egyptian Priests, I found this one,

Quote

Lector Priest (Kheri-heb)
  • Role: A highly educated priest who recited prayers, hymns, and spells during religious ceremonies.
  • Significance: Responsible for preserving and transmitting sacred texts, such as the Book of the Dead.

Perhaps a Necronified version of this would be appropriate?

So maybe Lekhtor Heb the Enlightened / Idolitor

Hah. Stellar work. It feels exotic to see your skill and creativity applied to Xenos, but - unsurprisingly - the results are consistently good. The GS additions are great. Frankly, if it were not for the before photos, it would be impossible to tell that the scarabs are actually GS-moulded bits.

I'd like to chime in on the naming process but I guess I don't have enough creative fibres in me. Given the context of the theme of your Marines, the face and hood of the Lord, I'd probably name him Skeletor :P

@Firedrake Cordova and @W.A.Rorie thank you both, when I started working on him, I knew what I wanted as far as inspiration, but I didnt quite know how to get there...Im coming around to the fact that I may habe succeded, lol.

@Grotsmasha...ooh I like Lekhtor! I think "Tekhtor...would be too on the nose." Lets see... Lekhtor the Enlightend, has a good ring...but may be too derivative for say illuminator szersas (sp?). Heres some thoughts, if you guys have any other ideas or like a particular one, let me know.

How he views himself:

Lekhtor the Wise

Lekhtor the Devoted

Lekhtor the Transcendent

Lekhtor the Devout

Lekhtor the Oracle

How his peers view him:

Lekhtor the Mad

Lekhtor the Fanatic

Lekhtor the Betrayer

Lekhtor the Serpent (that one might be good)

Lekhtor the Enemy

@Brother Christopher thank you! Im pretty happy with how the scarabs came out! As for naming, skeletor would certainly fit, lol....but I was going for a little more...this

Now for those who have seen the show, mumm-Ra calls on the 4 ancient spirits of evil to transform him. So my thoughts are, he has 4 C'Tan shards that he "calls upon their divine power" to empower himself. When he does that, Ill be converting an Illiminor serzas model to represent that. Thoughts?

I'm rubbish at coming up with names, so I asked my friendly neighbourhood abominable intelligence to come up with some, given the background (it seemed appropriate, given the subject matter ):

Spoiler
  • Xarakh-Teth, the Star-Bound Heretic
  • Nephru-Sekareth, Harbinger of Ascension
  • Khal’Zaduran, Whisperer of the Void Gods
  • Thamun-Khepraxis, Apostle of the Shattered Ones
  • Orikanem-Vhar, the Death-Bound Prophet
  • Tzareth-Nakhul, Seeker of the Divine Husk
  • Vokhura-Tenem, the C’tan’s Last Believer
  • Rekhut-Zathor, the Bound Mystic of the Old Sun
  • Serakh-Ulnat, Bearer of the Death Bindings
  • Akhmotekh the God-Eclipsed

Don't know if that gives any ideas.
