What I found interesting was the description of the Drukhari as an upgrade sprue for the existing kit. While I won't know until I see the actual sprue, I think it will be much easier to use this to create more Anhrathe that don't just look like Drukhari in another color scheme.

The Arbites really intrigue me. It might be a kill team release but the fact two full units for 40k can be made form the kit, and the vehicle sized transfers as @Flaherty has pointed out all point to something more. A full army would be cool (though I struggle to see how they'd make them a full list). I'm looking foward to seeing what happens!

I love the models more and more everytime I see them. So much character in every bit.

If the Imperial Navy equivalent are a good measure, I’d expect a decent chunk of background – say a dozen pages or so?

Probably will pick up Kill team Into the dark codex, already ordered the Kill Team Moroch one since it has Traitor Guard vs Astartes.

Also considering Shadowvaults, because of Kasrkin.

There's enough in the lore to support a Votaan sized army. They have bikers, Leman Russ tanks and Rhino variants, Specialist assassin type characters, There's a type of unit like the exaction teams that wear heavier armour and they can requisition local enforcers and planetary defense troops under thier direct command and they themselves can also be requisitioned under the command of Commissars. They could definitely grow into a codex of thier own with something like the Brood Brothers rule. The transfer sheet is very interesting indeed. support for 9 distinct units plus the exaction team and vehicle transfers even if it's just for Rhinos for now why support up to 9 squads.

I'm willing to bet if these guys sell well and they prolly will then we'll see some more stuff not too far off.

With the amount of varied imperial institutions that now receive plastic kits I almost expect an 'Agents of the Imperium' Codex down the line.

Just imagine: dedicated Inquisitors, Rogue Traders, and other Officers as HQs.

Navy Breachers, Arbites with basic gear as Troops.

Navy and Arbites with their specialist Kill Team gear as Elites.

Starstriders various models as singular characters, and of course Assassins sprinkled in.

The ability to have a basic Squad of SoB, DW, or GK depending on your Inquisitor if they're Warlord.

And the ability to be taken as allies by every Imperial faction, and maybe GSC with some restrictions.

A dream.

It's a great dream... but with the impending arrival of another edition, it is less likely to occur, and even if it does, it won't be until they've re-released all the other dexes first, which is why edition churn is the world's worst business model, even if it makes money.

With a new edition, we don't know if the Imperial Agents or even the detachment rules will survive.

Had GW pulled the trigger on a persistent edition, we'd have an Agents dex on the way soon and Emperor's Children for fall or winter; maybe plastic Gnarloc riders and Greater Gnarlocs to begin the re-expansion of Kroot, maybe Vect or plastic Court of the Archon models.

But nope: first we're gonna get six-eight months of marines (for the 10th time), and then two years for all of the current dexes to be re-released... that is, the ones they decide to keep. Who knows, maybe they'll just roll Drukhari into the Eldar dex like they did with Harlequins in 9th.

Comparing the sprue picture from today's article

Where the arm joins to the torso is the same flat circle which is also consistent across nearly all Plastic Eldar ranges like Guardians, Banshees, Wyches and Kabalites. Eldar infantry are nearly as cross compatible as Space marines at this point!

And after seeing the article and the sprues, I'm even more excited about this box. While most boxes only scratch the itch partially (i.e., I'm only interested in a portion of the contents), this one looks perfect for my gaming interests. As I told some others earlier this week, my wife is going to be so pissed if she ever finds out how much I'll be spending on Kill Team this weekend. Note to self: withdraw enough cash from the ATM instead of paying with credit.

I need the Arbites. I just need them.

And I'll use them in games even if the rules are rubbish.

Same. Iv'e got all the old metal ones and tons of Necromunda enforcers. I love space cops and I love Arbites especially the idea of them deposing corrupt governors, putting down rebellions and serving in defence of worlds like in the 3rd war for Armageddon is awesome. I'll play em if they are bad don't care but I got this feeling they won't be.

I could take or leave the Dark Eldar. I think the only model I have for these is the free one from the front of a white dwarf back in 3rd edition. I was never fused on them as an army faction but as a Kill team they fit/appeal more.

The Arbites and the terrain - I really want those, particularly having seen the sprues and alternative loadouts. This may have to be my Birthday present this year from my family.

Is the guy in the fancy hat with Power maul and Riot Shield depicted in the artwork in this article new? Don't remember seeing this guy the pics from Kill Team so far but have probably missed it...

That's just the squad leader.

My weekly email missive from Element Games contained the following message.

Please note stock allocations for this weeks Games Workshop releases are extremely low. Please pay attention to your expected dispatch date when ordering. All orders will be fulfilled chronologically as the stock arrives in the coming weeks

Given that my order of Arks of Omen: Abaddon from them was put back to 15 March at the earliest, I cancelled it and used the money to buy direct Soulshackle from GW.

Best of luck, Fraters, it's a jungle out there...

Edit: checked at 10.40 and already unavailable at Element. It had a good saving at £88 though.

Edit: 10.50 and sold at at GW UK too.

No stock again... GW are a joke. Of course they will generously offer us the option to buy the rules and special scenery pieces separately at a later date for nearly half the price of the original box. Seriously, they must be trying to kill Kill Team; they're sabotaging it at every stage possible.

It does feel that way.

By choosing factions that are sought after - Kasrkin, Arbites - and haven't been released in a while, they create a 'need' outside of KT players that the production runs for 'specialist games' can't support.

Shadowvaults did get a second, very limited, run just before Christmas so if you really want it, keep an eye out.
