Firedrake Cordova
I like the contrast between the pale grey and the dull purple. The gradient on the purple looks great, too Boc 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385042-bocs-2025-wip-thread-nurgle-knight-stormraven-wip-1112/page/6/#findComment-6139550 Share on other sites
Boc
Finished these up earlier in the week Repulsor Norn Emissary, really like how the glow effect on the brains turned out Tyrannocyte, I will never, ever, ever do this model again. Ever. Too much things breaking off too much of the time, I would up pinning some of the tentacles in. Just made finishing up a hassle with making sure super glue didnt bubble up when drying. Now for the current WIP, both of these paint schemes are 100% generated by ChatGPT. I input my paint inventory, talked through what I generally wanted the scheme to look like from a thematic standpoint, and generated a huge checklist. I think I'm happy with it so far? I did a ton of prepaint corrosion and dirt to just build up nasty texture, it should really pop once washes are done. The only work I've done so far on Rotigus is his guts. The ChatGPT assistance here I think is pretty pronounced, since I'm sure you'll notice my reds are really formulaic. This one pushed me towards using stuff I wouldn't have thought of, glazing and some other things that I normally just skip over and mask up with good weathering. The knight will have some drying steps tomorrow if I stay on task, so I should be able to finish the guts up. phandaal, Firedrake Cordova, Kurgan the Lurker and 2 others 4 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385042-bocs-2025-wip-thread-nurgle-knight-stormraven-wip-1112/page/6/#findComment-6141522 Share on other sites
Endtransmission
Those are all looking great. The damage/prework on the knight is definitely going to be worth the work when it's weathered! I'm intrigued by use of Chat GPT on the paint schemes. Do you now have a pre-set way of starting the conversations, or is this just early days playing around with it? It's been a long ongoing thing with multiple threads at this point since I'd use it to find color errors on stuff I was selling before. I start by referencing back to previous conversations then uploading the static info (plan, paint list). This is the newest rendition: Generated mostly from this (someone had asked on a local discord so I referenced it for them) https://chatgpt.com/share/68fbdac5-8dfc-8004-99d8-0756b4dd7189 This is the checklist plan: Re-uploading those throughout is helpful since otherwise it'll start working off of its generated answers and will drift from reality. phandaal and Firedrake Cordova 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385042-bocs-2025-wip-thread-nurgle-knight-stormraven-wip-1112/page/6/#findComment-6141574 Share on other sites
Firedrake Cordova
The weathering on the white of the tank looks really good I rather like the blue chitin on the Tyranids - what colours did you use? Proacryl dark blue, blue, and light blue. A little of "uuuuuuuggggghhh" on the stormraven and update on the Knight's armor panels. At first I used my normal painters tape masking on the stormraven... it did not go as well as normal... That's cool, I'll just revarnish everything and then use liquid mask, this is a good plan. No, no it was not. Progress going better on Nurgle Knight, with initial oils drying on the armor plates. I'm just starting pigment work on the skeleton... and realized that I haven't done any work on the abominant tail and butt plates. Nice. W.A.Rorie
That sucks about the painters tape. Knight armor looks good! Firedrake Cordova Posted yesterday at 06:45 AM Share Posted yesterday at 06:45 AM Sounds like it was "one of those days" Boc 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/385042-bocs-2025-wip-thread-nurgle-knight-stormraven-wip-1112/page/6/#findComment-6142111 Share on other sites
