Bet the winner is a member of staff or works for Amazon.

Well I can attest, there'll at least be less chance of that happening these days what with Amazon laying off swathes of their workforce to replace them with AI...

Would be nice to see actual proof about winners.

IT´s always, this naem that and so on, but actual info from winners of last ones. All i hear are grand prizes but 0 followup news

If I win I will document my break up, rehome into a skip and subsequent opening of a back alley store.

Last time I won anything it was a VHS copy of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

It's been a while...

Heck, if I won this, I wouldn't have to buy my friends Christmas or Birthday gifts for a loooooong time.

Not to be pessimistic, but things like this are like my thoughts on the lottery...

I'm 53.  I've traveled, worked with a ton of folks, and had a public-service job for 30 years which would have me come into contact with lots of folks.  I do not know anyone that KNOWS ANYONE that has won a lottery of any kind.

I'd love to at least know someone who KNOWS who won, just one time!  I'd be happy for them!

There was an absolute douchbag I went through school with until he dropped out to pursue a career picking up glasses at the local sport club. Then, in his late 20’s, after years of cheating on his partner with underage girls from different high schools - his partner won a 40 million (AUD) lottery and also decided to stay with him.

Said douchbag now owns several clubs, restaurants, assorted business and racehorses in my city. I occasionally see him driving around in his Lambo, high as a kite, grinning with his turkey teeth and fake tan.

With regard to the GW prize draw, is there an option to claim the original one in the picture with Adrian? Because that’s a stack of pure gold.

I see to remember someone on here winning a GW giveaway many, many years ago.

Mate of mine won a million on the UK lottery about eight years ago.

I've entered, and then immediately wondered "why?" as I'm not even sure I'd want like 80+% of this stuff.

The SM II vinyl would be cool though...

Yeah I'm the same, if it had been like the old one then yeah I'd enter but most of this stuff doesn't appeal to me. Feels more like clearing out the studio stock cupboard than a proper giveaway.

Bit surprised no Tzaangors though, probably the only thing they haven't tried putting them in!

Thank you for sharing this.

I logged in.

Also, I know quite a few people who have won lotteries and great prizes- my parents even once won the lottery which enabled my family to get all new living room furniture.

A friend of mine won a car at a radio prize draw last year.

So it is not impossible.

If I win, this forum WILL know about it.

This would immediately quash my friends' "the price of entry is too high" argument forever. Just gesture them to the pile of swag and start a game up.

Stuff I don't want or can't use, I'd support my local hobby/gaming scene with.  Start contributing them as prizes for painting competitions, tournaments, etc.  Unloading it on eBay seems like a pain, but donating a box every now and then as a prize would be low effort and make a lot of people happy.

Much love to those that posted replies to my post... you've given me a nice ray of sunshine on a rainy and gloomy Pacific Northwest afternoon!

For those that have entered, good luck and I hope someone on these forums wins!!!

Stay safe,

don

I don't have a GW account anymore so didn't enter. But... good luck to all of you who did enter!

what I would like to know is the price difference from then to now of the prize... I bet todays prize price is ludicrous !! compared to back then...

In fairness, the value of the old prizes now would be insane. The secondary market for oldhammer is eye watering.

I'm actually impressed they've got all those items in stock!

This is why I can't find half this stuff on their website, they've been stockpiling it in a closet somewhere!

true, But what I meant was the price of those items they had back then "at the prices back then" , compared to the Cost of the New prizes at todays cost...  Inflation, cost of Living, GW price Gouging etc :teehee:

as someone who cleared out a load of their back log last year on ebay - selling new in box stuff is pretty damn easy. Would probably take 5 mins to list each thing, stick it up at 70% of RRP and it will sell. Biggest issue would be finding enough boxes to post it all out in!

Agree. If I won this then my son and I would probably have half a dozen boxes each, give a couple things out to friends and then eBay the rest to fund the kids’ sports training for the year. I thought exactly the same thing about needing boxes …

Many many years ago, when legend of the five rings was a very popular and active trading card game I entered a sweepstake at my local hobby shop.

To my complete surprise, I won an uncut sheet of legend of the five rings cards, as well as a pack containing every single card they had made.

I think I still have that sheet of cards rolled up somewhere and the other cards bouncing around somewhere as well.

I’m hoping to replicate that luck with either a $1 billion dollar Powerball lottery, or probably the equally priced games workshop 50th anniversary prize.
