These are nice. Clearly Chaos but not so chaos-y, if that makes sense. Nice to see them in MKVII too. A bigger release than I was expecting. RC players eating well.

Beautiful. I love that you can tell these are Chaos Marines, but they aren't super corrupted if that makes sense.

I agree. I really like that the Red Corsairs look like renegades that don’t worship Chaos.

Those raiders and that captain are great, I quite like the rest of Huron's squad as well. Though I did also notice that his art from the book is quite different from the model and if the model was more like the art it would be amazing.

I'm in love with that Tarellian merc. It definitely shares a design language with Kroot, which makes sense if she fought alongside/against rival mercenary bands and acquired their equipment.

The dog is near, but NOT what I had in mind for a Barghesi. Design language is good, but seems a little small. I don't really see why the Iron Lords need to keep these puppies in a kennel at that size. Hopefully it's a smaller variant, lorewise.

Could be a young one, or maybe there are tons of them? I thought the Iron Lords were also trying to keep the Tyranids from getting the Barghesi DNA as well? Maybe I am misremembering that.

Your right. I just imagined them being a bit bulkier. I do like it.

Dear GW, please can we have a Kill Team (at least, if not a full army) of these Tarellian Dog chaps, that is all, thank you :whistling::biggrin:

Hopefully her existing now means that T'au can get a unit of them and finally expand the number of Auxiliary species usable in game beyond just Kroot and Vespids.

EDIT:

Also while I'm here, I think they clarified that you can actually take Huron's Crew piecemeal in other units?

If so, I assume the Ship Captain and our Tarellian friend here will be able to join Traitor Guard squads rather than being stuck with Reavers and Legionnaires.

There is something really funny to my brain about the fact that the biped is a dog soldier and the dog is a barghesi.

I love them and I love everything about this, but that part just tickles me funny bone.

It's explicitly a young one. In the stream, they called it an "Adolescent Barghesi" and said it's a smaller incarnation of the normal ones.

Thank you! I didn't watch the stream, so nice so know it's not a full adult.

The models look fantastic, but I'm worried about any implication to rules. Do the Corsairs and Reave Captain get or even need bespoke rules?

They are new units with new rules.

Also people have been wanting explicitly Renegade Marines for a while now and the Reavers and Reave Captain are explicitly fueled by piracy and the freedom to do whatever they want rather than Chaos Corruption.

Renegade Marines being thrown into the CSM codex is the problem, they don't need a new unit.

At times, why can't a kit just be a kit?

Because Red Corsairs are more Renegade Space Marine than Chaos Space Marine and Red Corsairs have been native to the Chaos Space Marines book since they started existing (Old Forgeworld Huron's rule was to literally just add X points of Loyalist Space Marines to your Chaos Space Marine army and call those Renegades).

Also having a new dedicated Renegade/Pirate unit is nicer than just "Here's an upgrade kit with no rules."
