Brother Argent
Well normally I do very wordy log posts that, after a very short amount of time, fade off into obscurity as I battle the never ending procrastination demons that seem to rule my life. This time I am hoping to keep things a bit different. Those that know me around the hobby know I have, over many years, attempted and failed many challenges/projects etc. I have built a reasonalble collection/backlog and am hoping to change that. This, and my subscription to Hachette's latest magazine, will be the guide for this log. My efforts will be divided between four "Operations" OPERATION ICARUS I'll start with Combat Patrol. I've just started recieveing the magazine and, as I tried with Imperium Magazine, I will attempt to keep up with the models as they arrive. A week for each issue and weeks of paint issues being catch up weeks. Obviously I'll need to push further then this if I intend to complete any of my other Operations. I will also attempt ot play through the battles as well as fully fluff out the units as they come and as it does in the magazine. This will be the main focus of my work so as to not build my back log any further. I've named it Icarus due to my belief it will likely follow a similar course as the greek legend. OPERATION LAZARUS Second priority here. Lazarus is completeing partially completed models and challenges from the last few years. A lot of these are simply basing while others are full repaints. This is my Plodding Along vow for the 12MoH, at least to begin with. I started with Company Champion, Windrider Autarch, Windrider Farseer, Howling Banshees x5, Wraithguard x5, Wraithlord x1, Tau Pathfinders x10 + Drones, Tau Devilfish, Tau Breachers x10 + Drones, Eldar Guardians x10 with weapon platform. I've since completed five Guardians but added an Inquisitor and Inquisitorial Henchman Kill Team. OPERATION IMPERIUM This will be the remainded of the Imperium Magazine I have yet to complete. I'll give a more detailed breakdown of this when I get closer but I beleive I was about half way to 2/3 of the way through when I stopped. I may break across in to this occasionally to spice things up a bit as needs. OPERATION CONQUEST Finishing the small amount of the Death Guard I have yet to complete from the Conquest Magazine, as well as repainting the entire Space Marine detatchment, or at least the Primaris parts, from my Star Leopards to my Interdictors. Low priority here. Likely not to happen for a while. But enough words, now pictures. I'll start with the first issue of Combat Patrol; 1x Terminator Captain and 1x Winged Tyranid Prime. I have reposed and kitbashed both so they are different enough looking from my Leviathan Versions. The Prime a I swapped around the wings, swapped the arms for a standard warrior, and reposed the head to be looking more straight on. Simple changes but I think completely changed the model. The Prime will be painted as past of my homebrew Hive Fleet, Hive Fleet Koleous. I'll get some fluff up for them when I get his finshed model up (something else I intend to develop with this log). He will be painted in my green/black/flesh scheme; The Captain involved fishing out some very old terminator and basing bits, with a bit more work involved then the prime; He will be the Captain of the 9th Company of the Interdictors Chapter and the Master of Relics, thus the terminator armour and I felt it approriate to bust out some very old bits. Those whom have seen my work before have likely seen my orange marines before. Their colourscheme is based off of old orange and black terracotta greek pots. I have already started a bit on these so with any luck I'll get some finished (new) models up shortly. Thanks anyone whom follows and fingers crossed I'll actually keep things up this time. Brother Argent
Here's hoping. Got some finished in previous years but never all three factions. Will be looking at smaller or more focussed vows this year. Though what I do will likely be very dependant on what is coming with the Combat Patrol at that time.
