WingsOfTheFalcon
I'm in the process of producing a Coteaz/Henchman count-as Adeptus Mechanicus army. The main inspiration for the force was converting up the NDK as a Knight Titan, but I also love the idea of an army of Henchman warbands. Of course this army needs a leader and I thought it would be poor form to just use the stock Coteaz mini, so I've been busy with the Green Stuff. http://29.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_ljl171I0GM1qd9z3no1_500.jpg Click Thumb for larger: http://img37.picoodle.com/s54e/wingsotf/grpn_f02_uc9k0.jpg Would love to hear your feedback and suggestions for how I can improve this model further. The only bit that is part-finished at the minute is the disc on his waist, which will feature a full cog-wheel surrounding the skull. You can see the first tooth of the cogs at the bottom of the skull. If you want to see more of the army, check out my thread in the Mechanicus section or via my Sig. WotF. Technoscream
Nice so far, I like the hood, will he be getting a mechadendrite or two? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227291-tech-inquisitor-coteaz/#findComment-2722477 Share on other sites

Ironblood
Looks great so far I think. Are you going to give him the normal hammer deal or change it into something more mechanicus influenced? WingsOfTheFalcon
Hey guys, Thanks for the feedback, I was planning on keeping his armament more or less the same as stock. Mainly because that Hammer is far too nice to mess around with much. I did consider swapping out the Psyber Eagle for a Servo Skull, but I think I want the mini to have the same rough visual outline as the stock model, so it doesn't cause too much confusion 'in-game'. Mechadendrites are a good idea but I know from experience how much hard work goes into shaping the guitar wire and how fragile they are so I'm undecided at the minute about using them for this mini. I will be sculpting a wrench tool onto the bottom of the hammer, which will hopefully continue the Mechanicus theme. One option I'm pondering is having some cable plugs running down from the waist disc either side of the groin armour, seems to be common on a lot of techmarines. Again, feedback much appreciated! MeatGrinder
You have my attention, the hood and mask really give him a more ominous feeling. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227291-tech-inquisitor-coteaz/#findComment-2723070 Share on other sites
Razerz
For mechandrites, instead of using guitar wire, see if you can get som 0,5mm steel wire from eBay or similar. Then just wrap one piece of wire around another until it looks like guitar wire. The same looks, but much more rigid (plus you can get as much as you want whenever you need it) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227291-tech-inquisitor-coteaz/#findComment-2723091 Share on other sites

Slyen
Crazily enough I had the same idea! Though mine involved kitbashing a Dreadknight with a sentinal... WingsOfTheFalcon
As requested a few close-up shots. sioka
Nice work mate the cog teeth on the rib/abbs area look way cool. I like the idea of swapping out the Psyber Eagle simply due to the fact that out of the whole mini its the only peice that is not as well sculpted and animals with two heads just dont look right. If you have a spare missile launcher open hand you could switch this for the eagle hand and then add the servo skull so its rising out of it, this would give kinda the same outline to the figure and give you more Mechanicus bits on your mini. Natanael
Very very nice. Now we have a new competitor for "my next army". I never thought of using the GK-dex like this, but it sure works very well. - Natanael Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/227291-tech-inquisitor-coteaz/#findComment-2724432 Share on other sites
Firepower
This is looking very cool. Amazing what an effect some subtle GS additions can have on a model. I'm hoping for a big techy styled hammer like the Dwarf Engineers from Fantasy  . Then again, from what I can see here I wouldn't underestimate your abilities to make the standard Coteaz hammer look more 'Ad Mechish'. Dawnrunner42
Madd props, this guy's amazing! One thing you might think about, though, is turning the sunbursts on his kneepads into two more Mechanicus cog-symbols. For the sake of the overall aesthetic, I guess. WingsOfTheFalcon
Seeing as there's been a bit of interest in the weapon, here's a rough outline of what I was planning: http://img37.picoodle.com/s54f/wingsotf/h9id_308_uc9k0.jpg I really like the idea of changing the kneepads, I might have to look into that one as it would only take a little filing to remove the existing shapes. I've been thinking a bit about the Servo Skull idea, and it's starting to win me over. Thanks again for all the feedback guys, really appreciated & giving me lots of motivation to continue with the project! Comabat Apothecary
I saw you talking about the failings of guitar wire for the mechadendrites, but take a look at these - I use them for librarian power cables, but should be just as good to use as you see fit really!
