esinhorn
I was able to get superb results with the patina reactive paint I went out and bought the statue scenery. By just using the Patina Reactive paint I have this statue looking so nice. It is a little hard to see but there is even birdcrap on the statue  I almost want to buy another and make bookends out of them maybe I will once they come out with a few more collectors editions. But I am going to put the whole scenery set painted on E-bay real soon, enjoy http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/wilis516/002-92.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/wilis516/001-92.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/wilis516/003-83.jpg

This stuff you have makes this stuff look legit! Very Statue of Liberty vibe here.
esinhorn
If you guys wanted to see the rust kit in effect,I used it to paint the other two pieces of the Honored Imperium set http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/wilis516/005-60.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/wilis516/006-49.jpg http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f295/wilis516/007-40.jpg

Marshall Dovian
yeah awseomone stuff dude, now I know what to do with mine other than tin bitz. When you say Rust Kit is that something you bought in a box or a homebrew of bits?

Ecritter
Can I ask why you chose a different look for the aquila then the statue? I think it would have been even more awesome if it had been the same.

I think it would have been even more awesome if it had been the same. I disagree. Ruins tend to be rusty and are supposed to be unattractive. Yet a statue looks older and more worshipful(?). Would you rather look in awe at a rusty statue or something that looks like the Statue of Liberty if you didn't know what either represented? esinhorn
I thnk he ment make the Aquilla green, embarssingly enough I tried that 3 times getting the effect on large flat surfaces was giving me a hard time. (I found out afterward I was using too much solution making the whole Aquilla a dark green rather than the nice tones you see on the statue.) After 3 times I wimped out and went steel Rust for the Aquilla. Once I finished that I then went on the paints FAQ to see what I was doing wrong. I wish I had the room for CoD scenery this paint would rule on those kits as you can see by the barricade ruin.

Ecritter
Yeah I meant make the aquila look more like the statue. sad you couldn't get it to work ... but considering what you said, it does look great rusty.
GumbaFish
These look awesome, I love the statue. I had a question about that reactive paint, does it make the surface uneven or just the color. What I am getting at is the surface still nice and smooth so more layers of paint could be applied, or is the surface now rough due to the oxidization reaction of that patina application you used.
