Brother_Kaelgrim
My first model using the Army Painter matte varnish. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201802-chaplain-grimaldus/ Share on other sites
TheLastTemplar
Looks decent enough, but I just don't like Grim with blueish robes... I mean, he's a personification of what a BT is, I think he should be in their colors. Unless of course thats your entire army's color scheme... then, shut my mouth. Brother_Kaelgrim
It is. The shadow grey and light blue scheme is due to them fighting alongside my Frost Wyrms chapter, a blue, black, and white chapter who fights on an ice world. Different schemes for each crusade  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201802-chaplain-grimaldus/#findComment-2404197 Share on other sites
Wicksy
The robes dont seem to work for me......i'd say either go with one colour and shade and highlight or go with something to add contrast. As it is, the middle of the model looks like one block of colour...almost bland compared to the rest of the model that jumps out at you. Brother_Kaelgrim
Its more to do with the flash from my camera I think. When looked at face to face, the colors are a lot easier to distinguish. Its a very dark, rich blue, compared to a very light bluish grey. Also, the color scheme is meant to blend in with ice worlds with deep blue glaciers and such, so its a camo effect rather than a harsh contrast you would normally see on a Templar. Then again it may just be an aesthetic choice that only looks really good to me :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/201802-chaplain-grimaldus/#findComment-2404303 Share on other sites
Justicar Valius
I think it looks ace :P Although the feet positioning on the stone look a bit weird, neither foot is firmly planted and so in that pose he just looks very unbalanced. Also, I would try and brighten up the gold a bit unless you want it to be that shade of bronze, personnaly I don't like the bronze shade at the moment. Brother_Kaelgrim
Actually I'm rather happy with the gold. It looks worn and blood spattered, and the Crusade I've set him in has been fighting a fierce guerrilla war for awhile, so he hasn't had a chance to really polish that Crozius much.
