Armorcast Warhound Titan

Garden Ninja

Recommended Posts

Well, I recently got a pretty outstanding commission to paint up this Armorcast Warhound Titan (circa 1989). The titan is a find miniature, but it had some issues with detail- it was basically an enlarged epic scale mini. But with all of those broad areas, I just had to add in some freehand, right?

Also, I've posted this one up on Coolmini, for anyone who cares to vote.

Hell, how long did you spend with painting the designs on its dorsal armour and the small fragments of damage?

I don't remember just how long anything in particular took me, but this whole piece was five or six days working full time. So that's a while.

The warhound looks great.

but my heart aches at seeing the colors of the damaged rhino...

Yes, it is as you fear.

The player who commissioned this piece has a friend who plays Sons of Malice, and decided that he needed to rub it in a little.

Certainly worth the effort!

Amongst the best freehand ive seen on this forum.

Very cool. Kinda funny how it actually has a dog face. Love the freehand on the carapace.

The dog face is an older style from back when the Epic games were called "Space Marine" and "Titan Legions." When they updated it into Epic 40,000, they changed the look entirely- going for more details and a boxier look to the imperial titans.

I think there is still some charm in the classic version of this Titan.
