Ultramarine Honor Guard Army (Count As...)

So I finally finished up enough models for a 1500 Army. The army itself is

Draigo (Chapter Champ)

5 Pallies with BHood Banner

3 Squads of GKSS with Pysbacks

2 Pysfelmen

Dreadknight (Calgar)

Here are the updated pics (Most are pretty terrible and out of focus... better ones will be incoming soon):

Your painting is great, the bases are amazing and your power armored marines are very charactful :tu: However I feel like you skimped out on making the Terminators and Dreadknight look Greco/Roman inspired. The terminators just look like blue greyknights, and the Dreadknight hardly has any approriate chapter symbols at all apart from the single inverted omega. The least I would have done would have been to change the helmets on the terminators to spartan, or crested helmets. The dreadknight could use a giant Macragge banner, and some aquillas thrown on it for good measure. Other than that nitpick, very nice

Edit: Forgot to mention, your Draigo is awesome as well ;)

I agree 100%. I may have to strip the Termies and have another go at them. I did those first before I really got to using GS. I had tried to make cloaks for the Termies, but they didn't look right. Now that I have had some practice, I might be able to get them to work. As for Calgar, I was going to put the Lord Macragge Banner on the back of DK, but the wife thought it looked "goofy". However, I think I will use the flat areas to start working on some freehand ideas, or at the very least some transfers.

Did you hand paint that Banner? It's amazing! People might sneer when you tell them it's a count as Grey Knights Ultramarines army, until they see it and go "hang on, power gaming goes out the window, that is a damn nice army!"

Well done.

Can we have a close of your "Draigo". Where did you get the head for him?

I actually printed the banner and used some PVA glue to attach it to the actual banner. You can notice the joint at the top of the banner where I need to work on making it match better. And Nurglez is correct in that Draigo is the Scribor mini. That model was actually the main reason I started the army. Once I get ahold of my camera again, I will post some better pictures including some of Draigo. I have to work on his leg a little, as the transfer has a wrinkle.

Although that being said ive a huge soft spot for themed armies and a whole HG list looks nice... im not sure GK is the way to go though tbh...

Sw wolf guard army would be much closer IMO, or just use 2 5 men troops choices and go with C:SM dex

still its a beaut of a model, full props for that

You will love my SW army for a tournie I am attending in a few weeks. Its 1750 pts and only consits of 2 WG termie squads (1 with Logan and one with Arjack)2 dreds and 2 landraiders. I am trying to get all this painted in 3 weeks, (so far the dreds are done and I have 2 weeks left)

@the OP, I am loving the spartan marine commander guy, Looks awsome.

I love how you theme your SW army scheme, so I can honestly say such a small army will look amazing, since you can dedicate a decent amount of time to each model.

I am still working on getting better pictures, but in the meantime I plan on starting on 10 Interceptors. I plan to kitbash PAGKs with Sang Guard (I love the SG jump packs) and was curious as to whether I should keep with spartan theme or paint them as Vanguard Vets. What do you think?
