@ Togusa-san - to be honest there is an Adeptus Mechanicus section on the forum, so I figured that a Dark Mechanicus Blog would be ok. :D not to mention theirs a Daemon section too... Plus my whole army is gonna be converted. So its not just a case of painting up 1 army & using a different codex...

 

No worries. I wasn't trying to troll, I just wasn't sure if this army was "kosher" or not. But more OT, that slaughterfiend is pretty awesome stuff.

No update yet, had another late shift on Saturday + was out Sunday, but will hopefully get on with stuff today :) Also I bought these goodies at Dark Sphere on Friday :-D

Ghost Ark, Talos (these are Bday/xmas presents :)), Wracks, VC Ghouls, VC Wraith and Lastly a Master Necrotech Mortenebra & Deryliss Warmachine blister pack. I know Warmachine parts/minis aren’t tourney legal but they have some great looking stuff for Dark Mech :)

 

The Ghost Ark will be converted into a "Carrion Drone" (Raider) and the Wraith will be a Dark Magos (Haemonculus) as it’s a bit small for a Savage Mortician.

Well its been a busy few weeks for me which has meant barely anytime for miniatures :D Been doing alot of home hunting after the place I was supposed to move to fell through, but I now have a new home which I'm moving to tomorrow :) So I'm gonna be without internet for a week or so till things are set up.

Well its been a busy few weeks for me which has meant barely anytime for miniatures :( Been doing alot of home hunting after the place I was supposed to move to fell through, but I now have a new home which I'm moving to tomorrow :) So I'm gonna be without internet for a week or so till things are set up.

 

So heres a small update for now ;)

 

I have pretty much finished builing my first unit of Flayer-kin (wracks) made from old WH metal Ghouls, Chaos Helmets, talos parts & various weapons.

Not much to do on these guys, just need to add some more tubing, sculpt some detail & feel gaps.

Hello guys, sorry for the long absence, I Was busy moving house, all settled in now though :tu: Got my work station back and now I can get back to my Dark mech army ^_^ Also I have just got my ticket to the April ToS in the UK B) first every tourney, very excited & got a lot of work to do!

 

Still not finished off my Flayer-kin or Slaughterfiend yet though, only got to sculpt on detail & fill gaps, but I don't have much free time atm. Also got a bit side tracked by these guys - My Berzerker Ogryns (count as Grotesques) here’s some WIP shots (yes that is blue-tac)

Next is this guy :) armed with a hook & Sword

The fourth Ogryn will be armed with a "chem-gun" (Liquefier gun), not quite sure how I'm going to model it yet though, anyone got some ideas?

 

Also I figured I would mock up my Subjugator Drone too :)

I'm aiming to get a Magos, 10 Flayer-kin, 4 Berzerker Ogryns and Slaughterfiend modelled by the end of January and more hopefully! Got my work cut out if I'm gonna get a 1,500 pt. force done by the end of April! Wish me luck!

This is one of the most original armies I've ever seen. What did you use for the helmets on the Ogryns?

The helms are from the talos/chronos kit :P It comes with quite a few different "helm/masks".

Looks like it to me, and the shoulder of the bionic arm on the same model looks like a forgeworld nurgle dread knee :P

Thanx guys :) You are correct on both counts Janus :) figured it was time for another update, trying to juggle work with my army at the moment. As well as house hunting yet again.... ahhhh! This new places isn't working out, which sucks, but hopefully it wont hinder my army too much!

 

Anyways here are some new WIP pix :)

 

First up is Dark Magos Raiden (counts as Sathonyx) He’s made from a DE Haemonculus, tau drone and Talos bits. Need to fill in the detail on his cloak, as well as adding some to his torso & sculpting a hood.

Next is Dark Magos Biologis Cyrax (counts as Haemonculus) I'm really happy how this guy is going :pinch: He’s made from a VC Cairn Wraith, with Talos bits and a FW renegade tank commander head. Need to fill holes and sculpt detail on him and of course finish his legs

Here is the 4th Ogryn (counts as Grotesque with Liquifier gun) Took me a while to figure out how to make his weapon look unique, so I decided to have the barrels coming out of his mouth and to have 1 shoulder ending in a stump to give him a really twisted look :D

Lastly I made some Objective counters for ToS (not sure what to use for pain counters yet though) Here we have a victim impaled on a metal strut, being barely kept alive by the vial about him. There’s also a FW renegade banner and a Servitor Sentry gun, complete with scratch built power pack :)

I really like all of your conversions.

 

You are blending two different aestetics into something not found in other models, but also matching the artwork and feel.

 

 

I think your Sathonyx (and the rest of the Hellions) should have a larger hoover craft.

Perhaps a drone plus a small flying base?

Hello guys ^_^ Thanx for all the awesome comments, been super busy these past few months, I got a promotion at work back in March which ment I was back to doing shift work. I was hoping to have this army done for ToS back in April, however, I realised I set myself too much to do. So I painted up my IW army which I shall update in my other blog ;)

 

The good news is I now have a job where I have my evenings back & started getting some stuff painted up. So expect some more updates soon!
