esinhorn
Here is my rendition of Hastur Sejanus almost complete. Inquisitor Engel
Excellent work. The Luna Wolf... Wolf looks a tad cracked. Given the cleanliness of the other lines I'm not sure if that's intentional or not. The NMM on the chest eagle is also outstanding. Rider-75
Looks really good. Nice n crisp. Â What strikes me as odd though... Do FW supply that model with the plastic mk7/8 backpack, rather than their own mk4? Life Guard of Justice
Fantastic job man! I love the freehand and the use of yellow for the moon on the symbol. Its a nice break from the shades of grey you normally see. Kierdale
Hastur looks really great. Can imagine him being described as he is in the books. Kudos. Â Beautiful work on that standard too. TennisBall
Looks really good. Nice n crisp. What strikes me as odd though... Do FW supply that model with the plastic mk7/8 backpack, rather than their own mk4? That's not the MK7 backpack. FW for some reason decided to update the second ed. backpack for their latest MK4 figures. Similar to how they decided to use the Sang Guard jump pack for their MK4 assault set. The current plastic sets have a modified version of the second ed. backpack - it's the one with the vent on the back. The Magister Sevrin model, which is MK4, comes with this one. FW went one step further and redesigned a retro version of it, which is what the Command Set and Apothecary marine come with. caprera
GJ Esinhorn, especially the standard bearer, i think you really got the right color there. Â Do these miniatures come in a single piece or for example the left arm of the commander is separated ? TennisBall
Yeah I see that now I look properly at the rear view pics. It still odd that they don't do it with the "proper" heresy era style mk4 backpack  I'm starting to wonder what the "proper" mk4 pack is supposed to be. If you look at it though, this one actually makes a reasonable step between the mk2 and the one used for mks 4 - 6. I'm thinking of adopting this as my mk4 pack and the other will just be for mk 5 and 6.  http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8445/7999354392_0bfef5e01f.jpg  Sort of a, this is the mk4 (middle), but when the heresy broke out they had to produce an inferior version (right) that was based on the older mk2 (left) pack. It wasn't until things got better that they were able to go back to some of the improvements of the mk4 with the new mk7 pack. That's my theory anyway. It wasn't until things got better that they were able to go back to some of the improvements of the mk4 with the new mk7 pack. That's my theory anyway.  Think this is where I put my old man hat on.  The style of back pack on the right is the style of "jetpack" that came with the original RTB01 marines. Thiis has subsequently been used as the mk4 and 5 pack by FW. The middle style is much later, being introduced with the first metal box set of mk7 marines who had plastic arms and packs. This style was also used on the variant mk1-5 metal models later release by GW, but subsequently replaced by the newer plastic pack (not pictured) The left hand pack is the forge world one released with their early armour mk2/3 variants.  So from this I would have expected either the right or left pack rather than the middle with a mk4 marine. But artistic license is everything ;)  And I also think going with the Sang' guard packs for the mk4 assault marines was just dumb.... Though I'm guessing the argument is that mk4 was meant to represent the pinnacle of technology, so the single thruster looks a little more techy. Rune Priest Ridcully
I was put off that set by the price, but now...... if all goes well and I get a job when I get back to reading, I may order that set, shame I can't get two standard bearers rather then one of each, as I could use the standard bearer in my Thousand sons and heresy era salamanders, whilst the captain I am not sure how I could use him, I already have enough Sorcerers :) Very nice, can't wait to see the Banner guy finished either, love the white of your Sons of Horus, and the free hand is impressive. Pig Of Sparta
Great work on both mini's esinhorn. Especially loving the contrast between the pristine white of the armour plates and the deep reds of the cloak on Sejanus :P any chance of getting the recipe you used for the Sons of Horus scheme on the Standard Bearer?  cheers  James Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/261167-no-finer-figure-in-mk-iv-plate-hastur-sejanus/#findComment-3187894 Share on other sites

esinhorn
My SoH are painted using Vallejo USMC Tankcrew washed with Greenshade then back with USMC Then I use USMC tanker highlights for hightlighing. I tried the method they say in White Dwarf on a test mini(Grey, metal drybrush, green glaze) and I hated it. Like the turquoise way better.
