chronosvulcan597
This is the post where I shall show the construction and painting of my Fallen Angel army led by the Sorceror Zahriel and Dark Apostle Nemiel. Currently I am planning a black base for the armor and silver trimings. The legion symbol may be in white or red. Even though they are chaos, I might use some of the knight empahsis on them. For instance, the different checkered patterns seen on pre-heresy Dark Angel armies. Below are some of my current unpainted models. I will be using lots of parts from various chaos space marines, chaos warriors, dark angel, templar, grey knight and other set that might make them look more like knights. Squad 1 of Chaos space marines. 8 have bolters and 2 have plasma guns. http://imageshack.us/a/img210/931/img4604tq.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img26/5403/img4595k.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img507/1227/img4601nh.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img407/9494/img4602kx.jpg Squad 2 in the works. Here is just the champion. They will all have close combat weapons and bolt pistol. I am modifying the bolt pistol to be on the wrist since they will each have a shield. Since they have shields, I will be given them the mark of Tzeenetch representing thier shields have a combintation of technology and magic that acts like a storm shield. One of the squad members will carry an Icon of Venegence. I have not decided yet, but the champion's axe may be a power weapon. I am unsure if it is worth it jut for the +1 strength but being reduced to the last intiative. I do not like 6th edition power weapons. http://imageshack.us/a/img689/3692/img4656kb.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img805/9483/img4658a.jpg
V4LLUM
Looking awesome brother! I love the mixture of bits being used, although I think the champion needs some GS on his greaves, or you could leave the boots and say he is one of the Caliban Knights who did not receive the full Space Marine treatment. chronosvulcan597
Here is a partial update of my fallen angel close combat squad. When I look at them, I think of them as knights. I am thinking about using the mark of nurgle not tzeentch for their shields. I have 5 more guys to make. http://imageshack.us/a/img443/6343/img4674f.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img24/4305/img4670b.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img824/9351/img4671yf.jpg

chronosvulcan597
Here is the start of my first squads of daemon possessed power armor. I will use the Thousand of Son rules for them. I will paint each daemon possessed power armor in one of the unforgiven chapter colors. The left shoulder will always be black with a white (maybe red) dark angel symbol from before the heresy added by the fallen angels. On top of the regular paint will be chaos symbols similar to the 3rd edition chaos codex showing space marines turning to chaos pirates in their old chapter colors. To help make them look more like walking suits of armor and not regular marines, I have made various damage to the armor from bullet holes (one even to the eye of one of the helmets) and scrapes/cuts. I will paint all the damage, eyes, the muzzle of the bolter and a few other spots with a glow plasma blue effect to give it that unnatural chaos look. For the sorcerer controlling these suits, I based him on cypher but gave him a bolt pistol and a sword for the force weapon. http://imageshack.us/a/img849/3034/img4684yg.jpg Edited March 14, 2013 by chronosvulcan597

chronosvulcan597
A few weeks ago I finished "The Unforgiven" novel from the Dark Angel Series (Angels of Darkness, Ravenwing, Master of Sanctity) and found sometime again to work on my Fallen Angels Chaos army. Here is an update on what I have recently worked on. From left to right. First is Lord Merir Astelan who is a chaos lord and 2nd in command to Lord Sorcerer Zahreil El'Zurias of Tzeentch (I am still working on his model) of these fallen angels. I just took the new starter set chaos lord and modified the horns with the new Dark Angel feathers. I need to still do some greenstuff on some of the feathers and I will not glue him together until I get him painted. I am thinking he is chaos undivided. After having escaped from the Dark Angels, he has returned to Zahreil to begin using the previously collected geneseed to first start on a new company of Fallen Dark Angels. Having spent much time under the heel of the Dark Angels being captured, he is now twisted in his revenge against the Dark Angels and thus his armor has been corrupted to its current state. Next is Dark Apostle Nemiel of Tzeentch resurrected by Lord Sorcerer Zahriel El'Zurius of Tzeentch and his coven of fallen angels sorcerers. Beside a mark of Tzeentch, he has been gifted a mutation where what remains of his mutated left hand/arm spouts out warp fire represented with the chaos artefact rules for Burning Brand of Skalathrax. He is third in command and works with the sorcerers and the Warpsmith to see that the captured suits of power armor from the Unforgiven chapters are reanimated for use by the Fallen Angels' sorcerer coven. If any unforgiven space marines are captured instead of being killed, he attempts to get them to see the error of their ways and to join them in following the way of Luther and Tzeentch. Cypher Having escaped the Dark Angels again due to his twisting of words and manipulation, he has returned to work with his fellow Fallen Angels again, but he will only listen to Lord Sorcerer Zahriel El'Zurius of Tzeentch due to their past close ties on Caliban and with Luther. I am working on 3 squads of Chaos Chosen, 10 marines each that are loyal only to him. Maybe someday I will try to make Thunderhawk gunship to represent the one he has stolen from the Dark Angels. Unnamed Fallen Angel Warpsmith I need to work on a name for him. If there were 30,000 Dark Angels on Caliban right before the Lion returned, some of them must of been techmarines. He works with the sorcerers to maintain the reanimated suits of the unforgiven, the daemon engines he has constructed for the fallen, hellbrutes, and other vehicles. This is just the regular Warpsmith model. The shaft of the power axe is a little bit bent due to the resin being soft. I didn't do any changes to him. I might paint him in someway to indicate a mark of Tzeentch. Daemon Prince. He is just for in case any of my champions of chaos turn into a daemon prince during a game. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/909/G6WXux.jpg For the 8 below sorcerers, I am working on making animated power armor suits like I have previously posted before. All these sorcerers have inferno bolt rounds. Here are 4 of the 8 Fallen Angel sorcerers. The 9th will be a terminator version of Zahriel. 1st if just the latest Chaos sorcerer with a Dark Angel symbol added to his backpack. Force sword and bolt pistol. Next the old Asmodai converted with a chaos backpack, force sword, and bolt pistol. The last two are just old metal chaos sorcerers I have had for years. One has a force staff, the other has a force sword. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/631/MIooYK.jpg The last 4 sorcerers are all conversions of the starter set with bits I have collected over the years. The first has a force axe and bolt pistol. 2nd has a force staff and bolt pistol. 3rd is force sword and bolt pistol. Last is just the Dark Angel sorcerer with a different backpack, still armed with a force sword and bolt pistol. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/537/UHUQD2.jpg Edited October 3, 2015 by chronosvulcan597
Widowmaker
Looking good chronosvulcan597! I'm really liking the paint scheme. The metals are subtle, the black is very clean and crisp - well executed. My only suggestion for the test model would be to lighten the colour of the horns a little. At the moment, they look very similar to the chapter icon and bolter casing.... unless that's deliberate of course. Looking forward to seeing paint on the rest of them. Cheers, Widowmaker
chronosvulcan597
Here is the rough version of my Lord Sorcerer Zahreil El'Zurias of Tzeentch, leader of my fallen angels as the heir to Lord Luther. He is in terminator armor, has a force axe, combi-bolter, and a familiar. I tried to make it look like he is shooting the combi-bolter at a close target(s) and getting ready to thrust with the tip of the force axe. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/907/bLaFFL.jpg Raztalin 1 Back to top

Reaver Lord Soul
Definitely following this :P starting to contemplate doing my own fallen angels but more around the heresy :)
Guest Royal Cactus
The Fallen are a really cool and underrepresented part of 40k nice to see some one doing them. I really like the Chaos Lord with the DA-Head, simple conversion, but great result

chronosvulcan597
Finished assembling a squad of Chosen Fallen Angels to go with Cypher. The Champion has a power axe. Two chosen have power fist, two chosen have power swords, and then rest have close combat weapons. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/909/wcUEMA.jpg Edited October 3, 2015 by chronosvulcan597 Argent aquila 1 Back to top
Malakai
Very cool. Bet you can't wait to get that 30K box coming out soon. MKIV armor everywhere. chronosvulcan597 1 Back to top
Kassill
Very cool conversions. Can't wait to see more painted. Agreed that the Fallen seem to be not as well represented, so always cool to see someone take them on.
chronosvulcan597
Finished getting my other two chosen squads complete. One has a champion with powersword and plasma combi bolter, 2 plasma guns, 2 meltaguns, and 5 bolters. The other has a champion with a power axe and a melta combi bolter, 2 power fists with bolt pistols, 2 with a pair of lightening claws, and 5 bolters. With the infiltrate ability as Fallen under the Cypher detachment, this should give them a well rounded force for small battles or maybe more commando style. I have also posted a picture of all 31 together. Now the long process of painting them but that might wait until I have two 10 men squads of my risen fallen ghost squads assembled and painted (thousand of sons) to start the core troops of my larger fallen army. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/905/NaGove.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/903/wmbx7e.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/909/2btUmU.jpg Very cool. Bet you can't wait to get that 30K box coming out soon. MKIV armor everywhere. Thanks for the feed back. I would like the 30k box but I have alot of unassembled models right now and not enough time having a 2 year old daughter and extremely busy at work finishing a year and half training program. They would be great for my Fallen Ghost though showing some of them having died at the battle of Caliban. Maybe in the future. Very cool conversions. Can't wait to see more painted. Agreed that the Fallen seem to be not as well represented, so always cool to see someone take them on. Thanks. In time they will be painted. The Fallen have always attracted my interests of the years. The story between the Dark Angels and the Fallen seems to be one of the darkest in 40k with twists and mystery around every turn. I am just glad GW has at least resurrected rules for Cypher and a detachment of Fallen. There are a few others who post now and then with their own Fallen Angel armies. As a last note, what should I do with the following two guys below. I think I painted them back in 2003/2004 before I knew Fallen Angels had black armor. Now they look like Dark Angels converted to chaos. Should I just mix them in with the Fallen Angels following Cypher? Thanks! http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/xq90/72/img4620nq.jpg Edited October 5, 2015 by chronosvulcan597
chronosvulcan597
Here are two Fallen Angel Ghosts models. All of the models will have armor damage. Some of them will have skeleton parts (scavenged from my Tomb Kings army that was half built). I then plan to test some different styles of green ghost space marines I have found around the internet. Fallen Angels Ghost are the souls of Fallen Angels from the fall of Caliban all the way to those killed in the 41st millennium either on the battlefield or in the Rock in a torture chamber. They are now summoned back by Fallen Angel sorcerers to seek vengeance on the Dark Angels and the Unforgiven. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/911/FGYFrW.jpg Edited October 5, 2015 by chronosvulcan597
chronosvulcan597
Finally got around to painting 2 test Fallen Angel Ghosts. Should I leave the Dark Angel legion symbol in ghost green shades, or should I make it glowing like the eyes and the bolter? http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/640x480q90/921/0RMNoK.jpg Edited March 20, 2016 by chronosvulcan597
SickSix
I think it would be pretty cool if you made the symbol glow as well. Nice job. chronosvulcan597 1 Back to top
chronosvulcan597
I decided with the new cypher to update my fallen. Now squad is 5 melta guns, combimelta with a power fist, and 4 bolters. Squad 2 is 5 plasma guns, combined melt a with power sword, and 4 bolters. Squad 3 for close combat is the same. There is a mixture of different equipment to make you wonder are they just maintaining off what they scavenge or have some of them been influenced by chaos. I really need to work on painting them. http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/924/tOMB7b.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/800x600q90/924/qreOzG.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/921/bqhPDU.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/922/TFoymz.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1024x768q90/924/OeQOe8.jpg Raztalin and Galloway 2 Back to top
DaBoiKyknos
Cool minis, but you did it wrong: The Fallen are obviously not Chaos Marines, just badly missunderstood! :P chronosvulcan597 1 Back to top
