For those who have read Angel Exterminatus

Having read Angel Exterminatus, I was quite taken by the idea of a diorama featuring Perturabo and his Iron Circle. In my quest to find models to represnt the Iron Circle, I've settled on Warmachine's Cygnar faction.

My question is, how big in comparison to Perturabo (I'll be using HiTech's Arch Father Proturbo) do you see the Iron Circle? Terminator sized? Equal in height, or taller and bulkier than Perturabo?

I'd really like to hear your opinions and impressions on them.

Cheers,

Jono

P.S. For those who'd like to look at what I'm talking about google Khador Demolition Crew, Cygnar Thorn, and Cygnar Centurion.

See I always had a mental image of a bulkier General Grievous

Personally I think the Forgeworld Thallax's would make pretty good ones

Decided not to be lazy,

HI Jono

See I figure them to be too bulky/high, but I guess it would depend on Perturabo's size. Have you got HiTech's Arch Father Proturbo yet? If so can we see scale? He looks to me to be Cataphractii size (ish).

You'd want something roughly the same size as him IMO?

Sorry for the quality but:

That's a Space Marine from Dark Vengeance and a Dire Troll Mauler, which is a Heavy Warbeast from Hordes, which are pretty much the same size as Heavy Warjacks.

When i read about the Iron Circle, i imagined them to look like archetypal chaos decimator engines which were less bulky and with a more civilized/engineered, as opposed to demonic, aesthetic. That said, since Perturabo was accompanied by an entourage of these things, a unit of that size would be pretty crazy.

I reckon the ideal size for them would be somewhere between castellax and thallax, they were supposedly taller than perturabo so definitely toward the castellax end of the scale..

I'm wondering if FW will release them, and if they will come with perturabo (with a concomitant price increase) or if there will be a separate kit..We'll find out soon enough!

Personally,
I would convert them out of the new Castellax stuff from Forge World. They fit the 40k aesthetic much more than that warmachine stuff.

Here are some pics if you have not seen them. Unfortunately they are not out yet, so you would have to wait a bit.

When I read Angel Exterminatus I imagined the Iron Circle being similar to the robot models from Rogue Trader. Without that garish paint job, of course. They're a similar height to the dreadnought models from the same era so increase them a bit to compensate for the last two decades of scale-creep.

No, page 41 has them jumping out of some sort of aircraft and landing beside Perturabo with enough force to break apart the rock like an artillery strike(actual description from page 42) and then straightening up. Page 42 also calls them "Colossus" robots.

This is a picture from Lexicanum of a Colossus battle-robot but I have no idea if it is even accurate. If it is, then wow has 40K artwork come a long way.

Hey guys, thankyou for all of your suggestions and pics. I've recieved the Warmachine stuff, and they're all to small. The original reason for thread came about because FW hadn't yet released either the Thallex or upcoming Castellax models, now that they're on the way I'll be looking into some converted Castellax now.

Cheers,

Jono
