Daylight
Hi all, I've decided to take a hiatus from my 40k projects and start a UNSC force from Halo (using codex: IG) and I'm looking for some input on what models to use for the marines (or vehicles). I think I have narrowed it down to Halo 3 or 4 marines, using Mantic marines for Halo 3 ones, or Defiance UAMC marines for Halo 4 marines with the addition of shoulder pads and the right paint job. I'm using the mega bloks minis as reference to how Halo minis would look in 28mm scale. This is a mega bloks H3 marine, compared with corporation marineshttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Mega-Bloks-Halo-Green-Camo-UNSC-Marine-Soldier-Action-Figure-Building-Toy-/151147292525?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item233114a76dhttp://www.manticblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Corporation-Marines-John-Martin.jpgAnd UAMC marines compared to a Halo 4 megabloks marinehttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Mega-Bloks-Halo-Series-7-Black-Halo-4-UNSC-Marine-/171143512878?pt=Building_Toys_US&hash=item27d8f2c32ehttp://dawnofthelead.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/dgmarines.jpg (Imagine with shoulder pads, which ones should I use?)For ODSTs, I think I would use the pig iron visor helmets that I see a lot mixed with some bodies (not sure which ones). Thanks for any input, and sorry if this is not the correct forum. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282321-halo-themed-ig-army/ Share on other sites
Daylight
Sorry for the double post. I've been doing some more thinking before I order anything, and I do like the Halo: CE anniversary marines/ Reach army troopers. What seems to be the best way to represent them? Cadian arms? Cadian torsos? Not sure what legs or heads to use either, so any advice would be helpful. http://images.wikia.com/halo/images/archive/e/e9/20100331201753!Halo_Reach_-_UNSC_Army_Infantryman_%28Standing%29.png http://images.wikia.com/halo/es/images/3/38/UNSC_Marines_018.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/282321-halo-themed-ig-army/#findComment-3507181 Share on other sites
Disruptor_fe404
Pig Iron do some interesting ones for what you have in mind. System Troopers might fit? The heads are separate. I am going to use these heads for my ODST-esque Scouts (HD 17 System Trooper heads). EDIT: Bah! How did I miss that you're using Pig Iron already? Fail on my part. Daylight
Well, I found some cool pieces on the Pig Iron website for the Marines just now that I hadn't seen before. I think the near future heads and maybe the legs (if they had thigh armor) are good fits. Maybe with Cadian arms and, well, not sure what torsos they will look close. For your ODST scouts, are you going for a full ODST look? What are you using for the body? Disruptor_fe404
Not the full look. After all, they're ODST-esque, not straight-up UNSC ODSTs. The current plan is to file down the chestplate of a Scout and rebuild the front to look like the ODST chestplate using plasticard. The shins would receive similar treatment, and I'd up-armour one of the shoulders as well. The specific references I'm using are these two: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v515/Disruptor_fe404/odst-ref.jpg The intention is for them to still be recognisably Scouts (with fully-enclosed helmets, because I hate non-helmeted Astartes) but with enough 'familiar' elements for a casual viewer to see them and think there's more to them.
