War Head
hello everyone, I must have painted about 15 - 20 marines recently in different schemes, trying to settle on a Legion and scheme I was both happy with, and could paint easily... finally... I chose the Imperial Fists. I've never painted yellow in any volume before so it's a new experience for me. I've done the below sergeant, which I really like but I'm stuck on what colour to do the base. I want the yellow to stand out so I'm thinking a dark brown? I obviously have things to finish on him but so far so good... what do you think? Brother Melice
Donno, looks pretty good to me, I'd ad a bit of purplish shades to make the yellow pop and tie everything in, add a bit more weathering and some free-hand details, and I'd say you got yourself a nice model! keep going! GrandMagnus
Nice pose, really imposing and menacing. Maybe go for something dark to contrast the sharp yellow. Jokersminis
I would say use some sort of concrete or plating so it looks like they are standing/guarding/patrolling a wall or fortification of some kind. That would fit the Fists like a glove, if you pardon the pun. WingsOfTheFalcon
I think an urban grey/dark brown would be the best contrast. Are you using the Army Painter spray to base these? Great start btw, looking forward to seeing mroe of them! Pyromancer
Looks really good. I'd say a dark brown base would work, something like a Mournfang Brown maybe? (If you use GW paint) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292343-sons-of-dorn-imperial-fists/#findComment-3716271 Share on other sites
depthcharge12
Awesome stuff! Is that just a regular power fist or a Solarite gauntlet? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/292343-sons-of-dorn-imperial-fists/#findComment-3716276 Share on other sites
Primarch83
I agree with Joker. Make it look like he is on a fortification, that could be a really cool army theme all around.
