"You know you're a Heresy junkie" when...

Recommended Posts

When you spend 45 minutes typing up the relevant excerpts from Horus Rising, Galaxy in Flames, the Reflection Crack'd, and Angel Exterminatus to win an argument about how good a fighter Lucius the Eternal is.

(Not very).

I! HAVE! NO! LIFE!!!

You bear the burden, so others don't have to.

Ahem.

. . . when you have zero interest in playing the tabletop game, and buy the rule books purely for the fluff.

When you've put together a shopping basket on the ForgeWorld website and find yourself saying "£120, and all done. Now I need an extra £130 to get free shipping - what could I do with more of?..."

Then you find yourself at £350 saying "ooh, I forgot about that Contemptor. What arms should I get for it? "

You obviously forgot the Titan Maniple.

When you wish all the main Horus Heresy novels were in hardback format simply so that you could have the full collection to read again and again in the future...

When you buy the Forge World books for the lore alone.

When you use Forge World's website's "wish list" feature as an aid to fantasize what Legion you would build next.

When you start "typecasting" your friends. "So-and-so is so damned dour and practical. He would make a great Iron Warrior." :P

When you start to visualise Morgan Freeman as Vulkan Freeman.......

'and thats why your now reading this passage in the silky soft tones of my legendary voice, like a twinky, like a twinky......'

I defy anyone to ready that last line in a voice other than Morgan Freeman's

When the idea of a wedding and kids makes you go "HORUS HERESY THEMED DRESS UP PARTIES!!!"

If you were granted 3 wishes they are:

-I wish I was an astrates legionary in the great crusade destined to only fall on terra

-I wish to see the atrocities of istvaan through to the shadow war Sarum and terra.

-I wish to be in the livery of the XIIth legion

When pretty much any piece of history anywhere you go is either familiar to you because it's like something from the Heresy OR you decide, "When my dream comes true and I get to be a BL author, I'm going to incorporate an element of that into my Heresy writings."

Seriously, try going somewhere like Rome and listening to all the talk about emperors and consuls, forging an empire, unity, civil war and insurrection and NOT thinking of the Heresy.

When your history teacher talks about the praetors of Rome....

And you're tempted to ask if they carried a thunder hammer

When people are talking about civil insurrections and you shout out "was there a man named Erebus in the vicinity" and everything goes quiet.

God I love this heresy
