Ulrik_Ironfist
OK, so in my rough rider discussion I was inquiring about mini manufacturers. Here's the list I have so far: Anvil Industries Victoria MIniatures PuppetsWar Scribor Miniatures Dream Forge Pig Iron productions Mad Robot Miniatures Corvus Belli EM4 Miniatures Scotia Grendel Coppelstone Castings Four A Miniatures Hassle Free Miniatures Heresy Miniatures Mantic Games Prodos Games Ramshackle Games I'll go through my favorites and find links and edit this. I'd like to build a master list of third party model makers that might help folks out. If this has already been done feel free to purge this thread like a dirty heretic witch. edit: I'm going through the links provided, and in many cases just linking to the homepage, since the company might offer products that a player could find useful outside of normal guardsmen. Brendaen
Don't have link handy, but Mad Robot miniatures have awesome models. Inso
Of course, it all depends on how particular about scale. How about slightly taller (30-35mm) troopers? Mantic have these: http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/warpath/corporation.html http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/warpath/enforcers.html And Prodos Games have these: http://shop.prodosgames.com/en/7-warzone With some proper marines here: http://shop.prodosgames.com/en/8-alien-vs-predator I proxy Dwarfs for my Guard... so you could go for these (Mantic again): http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/warpath/forge-fathers.html ... or these (Hasslefree): http://www.hfminis.co.uk/shop?category=sci%252dfi-%26%0D%0Aweird-war~grymn-light-infantry Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308033-alternative-miniatures-for-guard/#findComment-4055272 Share on other sites
elmo
This is a good idea and we can use it to update the Astra Militarum Resources where there is already a post for alternative models You can also add Ramshackle Games for Rough riders etc. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308033-alternative-miniatures-for-guard/#findComment-4056409 Share on other sites
Ulrik_Ironfist
Thanks elmo and inso for the input. I guess I missed that part when went looking. Anyway, we'll keep this going, to make the mod's job a bit easier then. I'll get the new ones added to the list. elmo 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308033-alternative-miniatures-for-guard/#findComment-4056447 Share on other sites

Vel'Cona
Nice list. If Frater are actually using these bits to build their own regiments, some painted examples (with bit lists) would be cool, too :) walter h 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308033-alternative-miniatures-for-guard/#findComment-4927349 Share on other sites
Halfpint100
Anvil have just teased some new heads on Facebook. Look like pirate/napoleonic eras. NatBrannigan
Napoleonic Shakoes! Oh dear god no.... It was a toss up between Pith helmet heads and Shako heads and I went for Piths because of a lack of good, well sized Shako heads. I've just "finished" my Pith regiment and now these pop up!? This is not good at all... I can't go making another Guard Regiment! duz_ 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308033-alternative-miniatures-for-guard/#findComment-4928210 Share on other sites
Major_Gilbear
This is not good at all... I can't go making another Guard Regiment! Why not? I've got four different regiments already (not counting Scions), and I'm looking at Tallarn and thinking that I'd love to get some! :D Vel'Cona and duz_ 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308033-alternative-miniatures-for-guard/#findComment-4928358 Share on other sites
NatBrannigan
I'll think of some reason to add them... I might replace my Veterans Pith Helmets with Shakoes maybe. Or they can be my Inquisitorial acolytes perhaps... I'm confident they'll get half decent rules at some point, maybe... Hawkeye252
Hi, I know this was mentioned in another IG post from years ago, but I've found http://www.stevebarbermodels.com useful for heads. A little small but they do the trick with some green stuff. Excellent historical ranges with Napoleonic and ACW heads. Mitchverr
I assume this is the most appropriate thread to ask about it, empire of men has released a 3d render of their super heavy tank, dimensions are akin to a baneblade i believe. approximately 5x9x3 inches Would chaps say it fair to proxy it as a shadowsword? Other varients it can work as usually, just the shadowsword, being arguably the best is ofcourse a big part of the usage. duz_ and walter h 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/308033-alternative-miniatures-for-guard/#findComment-4939542 Share on other sites
Tyr13
Hm, not sure... the general shape is fine, but the double cannons are kind of off... not sure if itd make sense as a shadowsword. Maybe a different variant though? Banesword maybe? iceman2160
You could always use it as a Macharius Vanquisher or Macharius Heavy Tank. micahwc
Perry miniatures has a lot of horses, and they are 28mm, although I think they are not heroic scaled. You would have to convert the rider to be a guardsman, but the horses are available relatively inexpensively in 3 packs from their website. They also have packages of "light calvary" that could be converted easily, 12 horsemen for 20 pounds. mertbl
I ordered some "regiments" squads from anvil. Is shipping really going to take 2-4 weeks?
