sgtglenskovski
Morning all, I am creating a black templar honour guard unit and looking for suitable two handed swords. Not the biggest fan of the grey Knights blades, would be my last choice - any others out there? Amayasu
Grey Knights Purifiers have some good two handed swords. There's a decent relic blade in the Vanguard Veteran box too. sgtglenskovski
I think those are emperors children rather than thousand sons but they are awesome, just not quite prepared to part with £33 for specific weapons. I think I may follow one of the links from Lucian and make my own Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311310-honor-guard-two-handed-swords/#findComment-4127046 Share on other sites

Cpt Rana
I know you said you didn't like the swords from the grey knights but I did this model from bits from a pack and think it turned out quite well. http://41.media.tumblr.com/ded8d79827bae2e055cb10ddd51f46c8/tumblr_nrzu5l2sid1trk912o1_1280.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311310-honor-guard-two-handed-swords/#findComment-4127184 Share on other sites
Canadian_F_H
Just to be clear, you are looking for swords actually being gripped with both hands right? As opposed to single handed with a handle that is longer. sgtglenskovski
Yes, ideally, or a longer sword with an extended grip with room for a second hand Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311310-honor-guard-two-handed-swords/#findComment-4127499 Share on other sites
Canadian_F_H
I know you were against the grey knight option, but that really is one of the best sources for large amounts of exactly that. I was looking into getting that kit to do the same thing, a relic blade heavy honor guard, and save the force glaives from the box for some command squads on bikes with power lances. DanforthLaertes
The problem with the glaives is that two of them are two handed - you might find it difficult to make them work on a bike. You could shave the hand off, but it would require delicate work. Canadian_F_H
Well we are talking converting 40k minis, isnt it all delicate work? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/311310-honor-guard-two-handed-swords/#findComment-4127591 Share on other sites
