So.. I've done more work. Finally finished all of my assault marines. Starting to base and finish off the rest of the tactical marines. Got some blood angels terminators, gonna magnetize every arm option possible. I've changed the paint scheme on the rhino. I was going through the Badab war books from forge world and stumbled across the red scorpions Rhino scheme. I really like it and its really simple so I've adopted it. I also ordered a Landraider, They are really good in 8th edition. Really resilient and durable. Here's some photos:

Well an involuntary transfer at work to a site nearly two hours drive away from home has meant that I no longer have free time.  Whilst it was almost guaranteed that I wouldn't get all the forces I committed done now I will struggle to get even one done I think.  I am hoping to obtain Dark Imperium shortly and I may refocus/revow with that but until then I am pretty much dead in the water.  I have got some done and will post pics once I get started on my WIP thread but until then keep up the good work everyone else and I hope to get back into things once I work around my new lack of home life schedule.

I've done more work on my guys and started work on my chapter master. I've got Terminators and magnetising every option but I'm afraid I won't be able to do all the arms in time. However I will try and get the main body done.

Ok, so this week I've done a lot of painting, started painting the Terminators on Tuesday and the main bodies are finished.

The terminator with no head is my chapter master, just waiting for a bald head to model the chinese horse-queue hair onto it. 

 

Here is the rhino with finished highlights, turned out a lot better than I thought it would.

So here's all the arms for every single option a Terminator can have.. I will try to get most of them done but I doubt i will finish it in time of the vow.

I don't know how, but I some how managed to finish all the arms for the terminators except the heavy weapons and the cyclone missile launcher. Here are the photos of the Terminators in their various weapon sets and the arms. I put the arms via Blu-Tac as my magnets have not arrived yet.

Sorry to double post

 

Ok, So I thought I will post the photos of what I have done so far. I might not get a chance to post as I'm about to go on holiday for a week or tow. I've probs got around 3000'ish points done of my army. The Imperial Knight is a huge chunk of those points. The army consists of (so far):

 

1x Chapter Master in Terminator Armour

1x Captain w/ Jump pack

1x Librarian w/Terminator Armour

 

1x Terminator Assault Squad

1x 10-man Vanguard Veterans w/Jump Packs

2x 10-man Tactical Squads w/Lascannon

2x 10-man Assault Squad w/2x Flamers & Jump Packs

1x Rhino

 

1x Centurion Devastators w/Grav-Cannon & Amp

 

2x Storm Talons

1x Storm Raven

 

1x Imperial Knight Warden

 

The units left to buy and paint:

1x Land Raider (bought, just waiting for it to arrive)

1x Damocles Command Rhino

1x Chaplain w/Jump Pack

 

Here's whats left to do, a lot of them are minor details:

-paint the muzzles on the flamers eg Rust

-attach 2 right arm pistols for assault squads

-paint the centurion devastators arms gold

-get custom shoulder badge made decals from fallout hobbies

-finish off the standard bearer in Tactical squad

-magnetize arms for terminators

-finish the base on Librarian in Terminator Armour

-finish painting arms for Chapter Master

-get head and sculpt hair on it

-magnetize the arms on the Leviathan Dreadnought

-decals for the vehicles 

 

Overall: I think I have a decent cohesive force in aesthetics and  fluff-wise. I am proud to have this force 80% finished. This project has taken me approx 4 years because I can't make my mind up on what I wanted it. I also paint stripped this entire army after 2 years, the paint job was really bad lol. In hindsight, I should have sat down and wrote the Index Astartes for what I wanted in a chapter and plan out the units that fit it fluffwise. My favorite units out of the Space Marines are definitely Terminators and jump pack units. To me they look awesome. Here are the photos of the force. Please enjoy :D !

Didn't get as much done on my Violent Gods as I would have liked to early enough, so I don't think I'll be able to vow, of course.

 

The good news is that:

 

1.) Everyone's logs look great and I'm very happy to see these factions that I read about during spring take shape for the tabletop.

 

2.) I am doing something, even though it is rather slow, but I will be posting in my regular, non-Iron Gauntlet WIP log soon.

I'm working on some Primaris from dark Imperium. Good news is that today I found a can of white paint in the garage that is the exact shade (or at least these eyes of mine can't tell the difference) as White Scar, so that cut the time associated with painting the white to almost nothing and looks a lot cleaner. Will do the can for the squads and the White Scar pot for the individuals like the elltees and the like, as I feel it adds character to them. Got two squads whites's done in about 5 minutes a squad so I'm right on track.

 

One squad (Intercessor Squad Tiberius [doing a few roman Ultramarine name cliches because they fit the character of the Primaris]) is actually all basecoated already, so they just need detail and touch ups and they'll be good to go!

 

Progress also continues apace on my Shogun and the Shinsengumi.

 

Would post pics but my laptop is currently in a box awaiting the completion of screen repairs. Where's a Techmarine when you really need him?

But I won't be able to post the final picture of everything in one group due to my camera being out for repair. You can see all the images in my original thread that I posted on the first challenge thread (and pretty sure this one too). Good luck to all the others participating!

I've more or less finally stopped Lollygagging, and have decided what needs be built, and how they should be armed. First up are 15 terminators to be armed with lightning claws. While a part of me wants ranged terminators, there is something to be said about being able to field 25 Lighting Claw terminators all Carcharodons style

Good to hear of the progress, brother. May I ask, when exactly do you expect the camera to be repaired? If I am not mistaken, you are only waiting to show the finished work on the Land Raider, correct?

Then provided you can supply proof of completion by, say, the end of the 26th, I will count that as legitimate. If you cannot, however, then the vow will be failed. That, at least, gives you time to arrange an alternative, such as a camera on a friend's phone or borrowing someone else's camera. Sound fair to you?

I present 1027 points of the Dawn Blades, lead by Master of the Forge Ceticus Stormmoon, wearing a 'borrowed' suit of Gravis armor (and it's the first suit that's fit him in decades), accompanied by a pair of warriors from the 2nd company and the Shogun and four of his Shinsengumi.

 

First off, we have the Shogun himself, Kujo Kamakura and his Arrows.

 

 

 

Then, here is Strike Force Sandstorm, all the primaris marines are present. Note I did not paint the inceptors or the Ancient, because I am not sure what to do with the Inceptors and I'm rubbish with banners.

 

 

They are lead by Ceticus Stormmoon, master of the forge and wearing 'borrowed' Gravis armor (and it's the first suit that has fit him in decades!).

 

 

Further we have the three squads of marines, two squads of intercessors and a squad of Hellblasters. These were my first experiences with decals but I think they turned out well.

 

 

 

Next we have two warriors from the 2nd company, Lt. Shonar and a boarding devastator who has been in the apothecarion for three months and needs to kill something. They are based differently to match the rest of their company. (Lt. Shonar's backstory will be explained in the dataslate challenge.)

 

 

Here is the entire army in all its glory. 1027 points, I think.

After a long day of almost nothing but painting, i managed to get it all done and even just on time. Being the drama loving man i am, i finished whole 4 minutes early  (after that it took i while to upload the pics and write this). And thank you Olis for noting to me that Finland is actually 2 hours ahead of UK so i had two more hours to work on painting. Without further ado, here is the 1000pts of the Viper Legion (count as space wolves).

As it can be seen, the bases are still mostly drying as it takes pretty long for Martian Ironearth to dry.

 

In there army there are (if i'm not forgetting anything), one squad of swiftclaws, 15 blood claws, Iron priest, Rune priest, 5 Wolf guard terminators and 5 tartaros terminators.
