cretacianborn
Took me since the heroes were first released to finally finish these guys, having to fit in painting around a full time job and an 18 month old little boy. Finally got them finished this evening and really rather happy with them. Transfers came out better than I expected. Still salty that I never got the plasma gunner or the super rare Captain though haha! I've always had a soft spot for the Crimson Fists ever since reading Rynn's world years back. Glad to see them getting some limelight recently in White Dwarf and such. Hope you folks like them. Squad Tercio, 3rd Squad, 5th Company. Crimson Fists. Under the command of Brother Sergeant Salazar. One of the few remaining mostly intact tactical squads stubbornly defending New Rynn City against the forces of the despised xenos wretch, the so called Arch-Arsonist of Charadon, Snagrod. cretacianborn
Thank you so much for the kind comments everyone! Judging by the quality of the models I see around here often enough it's high praise indeed. Awesome! Can I ask what colours you used for the bases? Thanks Fr33dom! If I remember it was just Mechanicus Standard Grey, a heavy Nuln Oil wash and then an edge dry brush with Dawnstone, then the metallics were Vallejo Metal Colours. Browns were Rhinox Hide with a Gorthor Brown drybrush. However I was working quickly on the bases just to get them finish so I might be off with some of these colours. Lovely work, got to love some Crimson fists - where did you get the transfers from for the Chapter Symbol and Tactical Markings? Cheers Brother Mayhem, the chapter symbol transfers were from some old tactical marine boxes I had, they used to put various chapters on them, Fists, Scars, Dark Angels too I think, so I just pinched them from there, not sure if GW have switched to pure Ultramarine sheets now though. The tactical symbol was just a white Ultramarine tactical arrow traced with a few thin coats of Khorne Red, then a normal gothic numeral transfer again over the top! Love them! Excellent work and excellent job giving them deeper skin tones in keeping with their fluff. I'll be totally honest I missed that the Crimson Fists had a slightly deeper skin colour, although I guess this would tie in with their Hispanic/South American style names etc in the lore. In truth I was just scared to go for any further highlights in case I screwed them up haha! Thanks though!
