Besides 40k, I'm a sci-fi fanatic. If you haven't guessed from my user name, I'm a BIG fan of the Dune series of books!

Perhaps unsurprisingly, I'm into video gaming and board games. RPGs, Final Fantasy and Borderlands in particular, are my absolute favourites.

My main ambition is to one day become a successful writer/novelist. I am always working on a writing project of some sort or another at any one time.

    Love flims and reading too.

  1. Well technically, a jet engine strapped to a bike has more of a right to be called a "jetbike"... It's a flying bike; a theme the same regardless to the science in the book.
  2. The idea of White Scars getting a jetbike cheapens the lore around Samuel and his "last jetbike in the Imperium" thing, though I suppose GW have already crushed that anyway. Yeah last one mate. Except the Custodes use them. And White Scars too. Oh yeah and see here the Escher from Necromunda? They got 'em too. Screw it, may as well give them too all Chapters then eh.
  3. Valrak's latest video about 40K Primaris Codex (because as a Heresy fan they're not Space Marines ) has a bit at the end about the Heresy rumours of a reveal. He feels it'll be May time.
  4. Huh, a Space Marine new Codex with a new edition next year? So that would be 2 Space Marine Codex books in a matter of months then, since they'll likely get prioritised new Edition? I dunno, surely not even the staunchest GW loyalist would be happy about that?
  5. Agreed. It does imply GW are conscious that sales outside Marines is lower than desired in 40K and therefore the company brings them back as a mini-new edition relaunch for sales boosts.
  6. True, I don't disagree at all, but knowing what the change is might help. Like, for their business model GW could explain army construction without spoiling all the rules to play the game, so folk can still get behind the excitement of the new game. I mean, at the moment knowing there is a new edition or release or something from rumours has paused my hobby enthusiasm somewhat too. If I knew what I was building was valid broadly speaking in construction might not matter normally as I'm doing a theme, but everyone else around me has paused so it would help.
  7. The problems with the principle this analogy alludes to is there are far bigger companies with higher turn around than GW who DO tell us what they're working on. In most industries. Car industries for example. Even Amazon tells us what they're working on. GW has no reason to keep their cards close to their chests and I wonder how long until they get genuine push back from someone on they board who might know better from business experience. Generate buzz and excitement through anticipation, otherwise it's just anxiety and nerves from the unknown.
  8. Not a fan of those 40K Thousand Sons robots... they just look so far out of step with 40K human armies and too much like an Destiny/Fortnite/some other video game rip off I just can't get behind them. Makka from Outer Circle's reaction was hilarious. I can't share here on a family friendly forum but I urge others to watch it as it's funny for it's direct and rawness!
  9. Plenty of scope for new models and life injected into the game AND updated versions of outstanding units we all know and love. Have to be optimistic on this one. I believe GW will reap the benefits of new models released and that would potentially move the game into a position where it's considered supported and thriving enough. *** On a personal level, I always like Dreads and a new one would be cool potentially.
  10. That would be a delight. Would mean the army rules and lists etc would still be valid... Just unsure where that would stand?
  11. I'm looking forward to a new set of rules that hopefully aren't too far removed from what we already have in the Age of Darkness. The energy it'll bring into the system is particularly exciting. If GW went whole hog with their main studio homogenising of the rules and make it an extension of 40K/AoS rules, it would be a massive disappointment for me so I do wait with baited breath... even if it is unlikely.
  12. I do wonder how long they'll continue on with UK based production, yes. Especially when they realise they could produce in the US for a fraction of the cost and sell up land in the UK to recoup outlay of factories etc. The Amazon deal shows a US partnership and doors may open.
  13. Indeed. I'm feeling it in my pocket, twice the price than I paid a year ago. The energy concerns of the UK must have had a severe impact on any factory growth too. However, the costs of producing items is cheap too, so be interesting to know the full costs if published. Though I doubt they'd be itemised.
  14. Came across this video and it was quite informative and interesting so felt like sharing it: In it, Macca is going over the costs and practicalities of plastic mould injection and miniature production. The important aspect of it is the discussion comes from an industry insider, Macca himself. Key points to extrapolate - energy costs are substantial, solar energy doesn't suffice and on the other hand the cost of production overall is cheap as the life span of the machinery is long and the plastic utilised is relatively low. Overall, very cool too know.
  15. I find the styling of the filigree etc... all seems a little too gentle and romantic over Astartes Horus Heresy. Like Adepta Sorioritas detail? I'm not a fan unfortunately.
