  1. Back now after a 3 year break from all games workshop. Guess I am an old timer. Joined 2008 and have played 40k since 89
  2. 4 minutes and gone. Must be a new record Glad I was fast and got one
  3. Managed to snag one of each limited after 10 minutes of crashing pages
  4. That´s not completely correct. From Inferno: "like the other proto-Legions of the trefoil, the VI was largely held back from full engagement in armed conflict during the closing stages of the Unification Wars and the re-conquest of the solar system." "It was almost a decade after the Great Crusade had broken free from the confines of the Sol System and spread out to distant stars that the VI Legion was to be unleashed openly en masse against an enemy. What occured in the previous decade remains entirely lost, even to the Space Wolves" So the VI where not held back from action during the Unification Wars and the re-conquest of the solar system, they were just sparingly used. Same with the Great Crusade; the where not inactive during the first period, just that they were not deployed openly as a whole Legion before a decade in.

  6. A really good episode. I only wish they kept on talking for a couple of hours more
  7. Not quite. From Daemonology:
  8. Chaos Gate really captured the feeling of the second edition. Both the score and voise acting is still amazing (and cheesy ) Even if can feel a bit outdated today I usually play it once a year for the nostalgia Dawn of War II is my go to space marine game. I probably have more hours in the first but the single campaign in DoW II is just perfect (in my humble opinion ) The differens betwen I and II is that you get more involved with the caracters in DoW II. Final Liberation - Epic Warhammer Total War (I & II) for classic Fantasy. Even better with mods
  9. Even though I liked Fulgrim very much (It's one of my top three primarch books), it was still the same old Fulgrim. It's the story that carries that book in my opinion even if it's a bit predictable here and there. The attention to detail with relation to the lore and earlier depictions of the EC is also really nice. Fulgrim on the other hand is just the same narcissistic showman that we all know and love, he doesn't have any character arc to speak of in this novel. In contrast, in The Great Wolf, we see a different Russ than we have seen before in the HH. From the full of energy, brash, hot headed leader in GC, we see him devastated after the siege, near suicidal with grief, and later the older, wiser and weathered wolf that misses his old brothers and comrades. Reading Wolf King before you start with this one also really enhances the understanding why both Russ and the Legion changes during the HH. I'm really glad Chris Wraight wrote this book so he could continue on the things he started in Wolf King. For me, that among other things, is what makes this novel my favorite in the series so far (I have high hopes for Jaghatai Khan, just waiting for BL to ship it)
  10. One of my favorite books of the HH series. I especially like that we see the progression from hothead, pre HH Russ, to the more wise Russ after the HH is over, and it also ties in nicely with the soul searching in "Wolf King". I really like that Russ and the Lion had a catharsis after the siege that removed the bad blood between them. The whole part of the aftermath of the siege and how Russ and the Lion handles the frustration of their failure to reach Terra is really well written. For me the last chapters of Russ and the Lion and Haldor after Russ have told his story, are my favorite in the book. My personal highpoint in the book is where Russ have his epiphany about his role in life This moment always make me laugh
  11. I just hope we get a "normal" older Russ. Please GW, no more wolf things
  12. Going from memory, Torghun was training in a Lunar Wolves recruiting center so the training was for the LW and everyone of the youths was mentally pushing to join that legion. The LW only needed a certain amount of recruits (say 20) that batch so when Torghun was on place 21 (still meeting the requirements for recruitment) he was transferred to the Whitescars.
  13. Cheers, thanks for the advise
  14. Yes, unfortunately it does look more like patterns made in wet clay than etchings in ceramite. I'm visualizing that it's a leather facing over the knee pad to make it look better in my head
  15. I can also chime in that Spellcrow have excellent quality on their resin
