  1. Browsing this forum again and came across this tread. Having not read BL in a a year or more now I admit to hankering after a good romp through the decaying imperium! The new setting holds little appeal for me but as others have said the Badab War would be great. I have always loved the Eldar and more tales from their early days, particularly pre and leading into the fall would scratch a massive itch. Thorpes Jain Zar was marvellous and desperately needs fleshed out. One of my frustrations with GW was the dropping of the forge world black books mid series. I felt completely betrayed when they stopped. I had invested so much in the heresy era. I doubt they could ever properly be finished although it would be nice if they made an effort.
  2. That’s the first BL book I’ve bought since the last siege book. I haven’t even read it yet. These Saturday scrambles have finished me. I wasn’t even that disappointed in missing today limited ed. Whole collection going back decades. Can’t see me buying anymore. GW burnout. Lost interest. Better things to stress over I think.
  3. Sold out been in the queue for nearly an hour. Waiting time jumped all over the place, managed to get into the site at 3 minutes to 10 and all sold out. Only one I’ve missed of the series.
  4. PayPal can have problems too. If you get caught with a verification you can forget about getting anything. It will take at least a minute to get a text or email and put in the code. Even if you don’t it has to transfer you to PayPal and back again.
  5. Got it… took a while but all good, big relief. One to go folks
  6. First black library book I’ve bought in months….. the need to complete the dof series was too much to cope with! Hopefully it’s a better offering than the last instalment. Anything I have read by Marc Collins has been great. Will see if it has what it takes to reignite my interest
  7. Agreed I did enjoy both of these. His ork books I’ve found beyond grating though. Harrowmaster, Huron and wanted dead are other poor offerings.
  8. I didnt buy this when I saw it was by Brooks and I know folks will howl when I say this but I really wish Gav Thorpe had been given this. He has made the DA. I’ve been reading Cypher and I’m pretty suprised how well French has written them. So if Gav was unacceptable to the masses surely he would have been a better option than the ork comedy guy? The choice of author for what should have been a massive book is really odd. Are BL having trouble encouraging writers to write??
  9. Surprised the The Vincula Insurgency didn’t feature higher. I absolutely loved this book. A fantastic addition to the ghosts series.
  10. I’m only missing shadowsun from that series. I hear I haven’t missed much. Thraka is the highlight of them so far, hopefully Cypher will be a good read too
  11. That Inquisitor Czevak novel was superb.
  12. Point of interest. In the introduction to the new printing of Armageddon ADB says “as much as I’m desperate to write about the Aeldari……” wow! Please Aaron do so and revive my BL interest! That would be fabulous.
  13. Finally got round to reading this. What an excellent book! The Remembrancers are some of my favourite characters from the heresy series and Chris has used them masterfully here. Great book, great characters. Added value to the setting
  14. I was 28 when Horus Rising appeared, now 45….. hair has gone from a solid black to more white than anything else. I’ve had two kids, got married, became head of business on the family farm, became a Christian and put on a good stone and a half in weight. Have to say the heresy has been a massive part of the last 17 years. Been times when I’ve utterly hated it but by and large it’s been a really fun hobby, keeping up with all the books and background. Highlights for me were the early years, the forge world black books and the siege itself. Can’t say I’m sorry it’s ending but I’m very very glad to have been along for the ride. Would love to be able to say a personal big thank you to all the authors involved. Job well done.
  15. Not sure but if there was I would happily sell some. I hate eBay and would rather sell some off to genuine lovers of BL fiction. I don’t read as much BL as I used to and could do with clearing out some shelves
