Phase 3 - Game 2
The Aeldari were holding a line, defending a section of city for their own inscrutable reasons. Squads of Striking Scorpions prowled the flanks while Eldrad, Guardians, the Void Reapers, and Wraithguards were spread out among the centerline.
It mattered not to the Forgotten. Not the Xenos' defensive plans, their witcheries, or their vaunted battle skills. Galgaliem bikers formed the Fallen vanguard, capturing breachpoints and holding them while Rhinos transported reinforcing Legionaries. Havocs sent lasbeams and missiles into Aeldari aircraft and tanks, as Xaphan's Chosen warriors assaulted the piratical Corsairs. Teleporting Suriel Terminator squads pounded the venerable lord farseer into a pile of crystalline bones before falling to a righteously wrathful Phoenix Lord Asurmen. The master of Dire Avengers came too late however, as the hateful Forgotten had overwhelmed the remaining Xenos forces and caused the rest to retire from the battle.
Xaphan was pleased, his masters' plans were coming to fruition and his forces moved to the next battle.

Round 1
Fallen turn 1 - Deployment is simple, as is the plan. Rush the enemy and disrupt them as much as possible. Bike squads move out the flanking objectives, where a unit of Striking Scopions is holding each. The Predator moves to shoot the hiding Wraithguard, while Xaphan and his Chosen move to assault the Corsairs hiding behind the big building. Shooting goes alright, with a single Wraithguard going down, but otherwise most eldar are fine. In the charge the Chosen completely destroy the Corsairs, while the right side bikers take out their Scorpion foes. On the left however, the Scorpions fight first and take out a single biker, while the other two roll to hit and manage seven 1s out of eight dice. Terrible. Cypher attempts to plant a bomb, but will be killed in the enemy turn before it can complete.
Aeldari turn 1 - Eldrad and his Guardians sneak around to get shots on the Chosen squad, while the Shourd Runners fly past them and move halfway to the right side bikers. Wraithguard storm up the center, using their D-scythes to take out Cypher and bring the Predator to 4 Wounds. Shots from the Guardians, Shroud Runners, and Rangers reduce the Chosen squad by three.
Round 2
Fallen turn 2 - Rhinos with Legionaries shoot out on either side of the Fallen deployment, while Sar Ornias and Chosen deploy on the back objective to prevent any Aeldari shenanigans. Xaphan moves away from Eldrad, making the center objective his, while the bike squad on the left finally falls to the single Scorpion Exarch remaining. Mass firepower by the two Havoc squads and the Predator remove both the Wraithguard and the Shroud Runners from the board. The Legionaries squad in the right Rhino disembark and plant a bomb.
Aeldari turn 2 - A Falcon containing 5 Dire Avengers and Asurmen show up near the center objective, while a War Walker appears on the left flank. The War Walker takes out the Predator and a combination of Falcon/Asurmen shooting kill off Xaphan and his remaining Chosen.
Round 3
Fallen turn 3 - The Chosen on the back objective move into the now empty Rhino on the right. Raptors replace them on holding the back objective while the Havoc squads move forward to get better shots. Two Terminator squads drop down, one near Eldrad's Guardians and the other on the back left board edge to harass the Ranger squad there. Havocs kill off the Falcon in shooting, while the back Terminator squad kills the Rangers. A combination of shooting and melee by the other Terminators takes down Eldrad and his squad, while the Legionaries on the left move and take the left objective. The right Legionaries again plant a bomb.
Aeldari turn 3 - Swooping Hawks drop onto the back left objective, while a Crimson Hunter deploys in the middle of the Aeldari board edge, Shining Spears near the left objective, and a final War Walker stomps onto the field near the back left objective. A combination of shooting and charging kill off the Rhino and Legionaries on the left, Asurmen wipes the right terminator squad, and two Terminators die on the left squad.
Round 4
Fallen turn 4 - Despite the kills from last round, the Aeldari don't do enough damage to prevent the Forgotten from scoring 11 VP at the beginning of this turn and thus ending the game this round. Due to this the rest of the match is talked out. Ornias gets a bomb placement and Havoc squads move up to gain the benefits of Drive Deep. Aeldari manage to complete both of their Agendas by keeping the back left objective and having two squads get within 12" of battlefield corners.
Thoughts
Not a bad game. If I could have picked to be Attacker or Defender I would have chosen Defender, even with the Attacker choosing 1st turn, but it worked out for me to be the Attacker. My army is fast and mobile, so moving out quickly was the way to go. I put the Aeldari on the back foot by taking the Scorpions out of the game either entirely or at least tying them up so that they couldn't do anything useful, while my Chosen distraction squad did its job by tearing up the middle and making a mess of the eldar plans. Lots of stuff went my way, which is nice after getting my butt handed to me by the space dwarves. Onto next week!
