Hi Folks,
6 weeks and 7 units painted. Considering almost 2 weeks hiatus due to family business and some welcomed holidays, it is not that bad.
But, wait a minute… 7 Units? Let’s check:
- One Archon (kit bashed)
- One Raider
- Two Venoms
- Ten Kabalites (Hand of the Archon)
- Ten Witches
- One Succubus
That’s a confirmed 7 counts. Which also means that my first pledge for CtA25 is now complete!
Hooka Hey!
Let’s see own it looks with the latest completed units, a.k.a. Witches and Succubus.
I am not that pleased with the final quality. I will say it is tabletop OK but within the lower range of my latest paintjob. I would say that I do not paint skin properly and it is quite visible here. The spikiness and complex shapes of the models (specifically the Succubus) neither helped. But I will get satisfied enough with that atm.
The rest of the pledged models can be found in these Blog entries:
CtA25 - Vow 1 - Week 2 progress report - Pointy and Spiky - The Bolter and Chainsword
CtA25 - Vow 1 - 3rd week progress report - Pointy and Spiky - The Bolter and Chainsword
Now, what about a second pledge? I have plenty of options such as:
- 30 kitbashed GSC into a house made IG regiment
- Some 10 Spore mines and a set of 5 GSC hybrids
- 10 CSM and a converted CSM captain from an old Dwarf Thann with Ork Rokkits as a jet pack
- Enough genuine Corsairs and left over Guardians bodies to kitbash even more Corsairs (up to 30 grand total maybe)
- More AdMech weirdoes (2 Ironstriders, some Characters (4), Sulphurhounds, Pteraxii and Sicarans boxes and the KT Servitor clade set)
- Crafworlders (Converted Autarch, Rangers and Shroudrunners boxes, 2 Warwalkers, War spiders, a Spiritseer and eventually 2 kitbashed Warlocks and 10 more Guardians)
- Half finished Scenery from bits and scratches.
- A huge amount of tiny marines and squats from ooP Epic. Too big to be numbered.
When I compare the list now and before starting the challenge I can only admit that I bought again too much stuff. My Pile of shame is therefore rebuilding itself slowly but surely as I bought more than I can paint, knowing that I have also a huge backlog in Warhammer the Old World… It is therefore time to make some decisions and select wisely. We will see if thinking it over one of two nights help me making a decision between potential Challenges objectives in terms of completed points in a faction or painting yield by doing more models more easily painted but spread over different strongholds…
Let’s talk about it again in a few days.
