With the arrival of Horus Heresy 3.0 I wanted to start a new Legion force. I’d already done Blood Angels, Iron Warriors, Mechanicum, Custodes and a small contingent of White Scars and Solar Auxilia so I decided to use the gorgeous MKII marines for an entirely new Legion. 
 

I narrowed it down to Space Wolves, Dark Angels or Ultramarines. The Dark Angels ultimately prevailed due to a combination of their Knightly Aesthetic,  their Playstyle, their Lore and the amazing design of their Legion Specific units. I intend to dedicate a large portion of the Saturnine box to this new force as well as the upcoming MKII assault squad. 
 

The List:

When I’m creating lists for various Legions I always tend to start with the Legion Specific units because they tend to be cool and they also do a good job of distinguishing the Legion from its fellow Marine forces. This generally means that my lists are heavy on the unique legion units and wargear as well as named characters. My initial list that I’m working towards is as follows:

Corswain

Centurion

Chaplain

5 x Deathwing Companions

5 x Inner Circle Knights Cenobium

5 x Dreadwing Interemptors

2 x 10 Man tactical Squads

2 x Veteran Assault Squads

2 x Land Raiders 

Sicaran

Vindicator

Rhino

It will take me some time to build up to this size of force but I’m hoping this blog will help keep me motivated.
