Burn the witch! - a Warlock Conclave and a Clown
Hi Folks,
Today's batch is filled with my last models for this year's CtA: the 3 characters that were kitbashed from various bits and lost parts. Including a bluestuff molded one for the Harlie's torso.
Let's start with the Troupe Master (a.k.a the Clown); the result is almost as a miniature that might be mismatched (by a night without moon and eyes closed) with a real GW stuff. No, not really (or at least as a spiritual son only). But I'd like to believe it. I've painted it a tad darker than the other Harlies I have. Mainly because the Wytch legs were not that easy to set in bright colours with all that scaled armour - it ended with a darker tone or Arkhelian green highlighted with sons of horus green. But light is poor and does not bring it justice. The leather boot part is just black highlighted with dark grey.
I could have set the coat in a brighter tone and/or with checkers, but I have the feeling it would have looked both odd and strange. And I can't do proper checkers by hand. So the darker side was enforced with a dark black coat (but with red inside); other colours come throught the bright ribbons that are all but one (the arm band in yellow) in the back and out of pic focus.
Pics are very dark but the model is brighter and more colorful once in hands. It might deserve another series of pics...
And I realise I have not taken pics of the pack, so you cannot see these yellow, blue and red ribbons...
And then come the pair of Warlocks - the Conclave - to be used probably as per their names (i.e. either together or solos). Their base size is smaller than the genuine/official size of the current Warlock set, but it is not very important. All my guardians are anyway on bases as per the sets of the late 90's, so also smaller.
Dude N#1 is very close from the usual Aeldarii psyker aesthetic. The KT Corsair helm helps. And the staff too.
The second dude is not an obvious psyker, beside his hand clearly holding a blazzing blue rune depicting he is in the middle of an invokation of his patronage deity. Welcome Ynnead!
The models being without the traditionnal robes of their office, only the added old Dire Avenger tabards on their sides give the idea of a piece of clothing. Otherwise they look more like "exalted" Guardians. Which may be enough for these heralds of the Ynnaris.
These 3 models close my CtA25 season. Next post on the topic will probably be a recap on this year's production within the boundaries of the challenge. And it has been a good year. I still however have 2 units waiting to be painted - a VoidReaver squad and a Ranger squad - but it will be for 12MoH I guess.
See you
