Personal Characters-
So I am going to start a new Blog category for Personal Characters. What are personal characters? They are models that have been part of an army collection, are always fielded in the army, creating and developing their story along the way. These are named models in your list that are not Unique Characters, named Special Characters, but individual models that you have built and created, they develop their own back story, and your friends develop grudges against. One of the more interesting aspects of the hobby. To start off this category the model, her story and who she was named after are all important to me.
This is the story of Retributor Gunner, Sister Alana
Sister Alana started out as 2nd edition Heavy Bolter Adepta Sorortias model I purchased in 1997.
I painted her pale skinned blonde and her armor to match the OG Order of the Martyered Lady. Her first few battles were nothing of note. And 3rd edition came around with the black codex in the main rule book. This gave us the units know as Retributors. The blonde heavy bolter gunner was moved to Retributors and at this time I started naming models. She received the name of an ex-girlfriend Alana. During her first game as a retributor she face Dark Eldar and due to terrible saves she was left alive alone and then engaged a raider that eliminated most of her squad. After killing the Raider and most of the warriors on board in the resulting crash she pinned down that section of the board to halt the Dark Eldar advancement. After a few more battles I began rolling her shooting attacks separate, she was more prone to hitting and killing things compared to her squad mates. Her squad were crucial in eliminating an Eldar War Walker threat removing them due to pregame firing, thanks to the old Auspex wargear. Through out the years I would change which order (Order of Our Martyred Lady, Order of the Parthenon-Custom Order, Order of the Bloody Rose, and finally settling on the Order of the Valorous Heart) I wanted to play I would stripe and repaint her armor but not her face or hair.
Once WarComm started dropping the previews of the Plastic Sisters and a saw this head
I knew Sister Alana would once again be in my army. So when I had my first game with plastic Sisters my long time opponent/ Friend @Entropomancer asked if Alana was in the army and when I responded yes he was like let's see if her new version is just as scary as her previous version. Through the course of the game She lived up to her name, and has continued to do so. Currently she’s in my paint queue and I am making progress over the last few days :
