Well a trip to my FLGS with my soon to be 11 year old (step)son did not end as I had expected. 
 

Originally it was supposed to be a quick trip in for some paint but that did not happen. I let him walk around and check out the store and soon he found some models he liked…much to my surprise. He liked the bike models in eldar and marines, liked the Guard for being the military but ultimately he saw the ridge runner, jackals and the characters of the Genestealer cult.  He decided he wanted the Jackal Alphus 

which I can see why, dirt bike sniper why not. Then he grabbed the Reductus Saboteur (can’t blame he on that one either).
 

Well I was thinking as he was eyeballing the combat patrol, which he said was as too money much, for now. Get the codex and cards so he can learn the army.

I threw in the starter tool and paint set too. 
 

We got home I added the app to his tablet and he started playing with ideas and lists. 
 

In 2 weeks I have my group hobby day so he will be attending after we pick up our combat patrols…his GSC and my Adepta Sororitas.
