Necromunda: The Rampage of Hive Primus

The Forgeking has been killed. The underhive is in chaos. What little order that was has now been replaced with gangs warring to obtain a piece of his smoke Blackened empire...

Hi all, I'd been thinking about getting into Necromunda for a long time, playing one game in ~2021 or so and getting mashed on a 2x2 board by some corpse grinders, when someone at my local club proposed a new campaign. About 6 of us were interested, and it took off from there.

The starting gang.

Starting Gang - The Rad Reavers:

Prime: Bodhi Sattvha, Prime - mesh armour, plasma gun, trick shot

Augmek: Johnny Utah- Plasma pistol, laspistol, mesh, hip shooting

Augmek: Warchild - Rad cannon, mesh, munitioneer

Tek Specialist: Tyler - Lasgun

Neotek: Surf Rat - laspistol

Tek: Tone Scart - Lasgun

Tek: Roach - Lasgun

With 3 of the 6 players being van saar, the territories were very van saar heavy meaning there would be plenty of loot up for grabs.

Battle Report 1:

My first battle was against another van Saar player, the Pie 'Eds. These were a small gang of tooled up nutjobs, though lacking in significant special weaponry everyone had a hotshot pack and mesh armour at least, something I could have done if I ditched the rad cannon...

Prime - lasgun, power knife, mesh, fast shot

Archeotek - mesh, torsonic alpha, power knife, lasgun with hotshot, fast shot

Archeotek -  mesh, vascular alpha, power knife, lasgun with hotshot, fast shot

tek - mesh, lasgun

Neotek - mesh, lasgun w hotshot, energy shield, las sub carbine.

I can't remember the turn by turn breakdown of this game, but with the lack of high powered weaponry in my opponents gang, an with 5 mooks to my 7, you can probably tell which way it went. He'd deployed across his board edge all in cover and I'd deployed more as a clump in the middle in cover. Lacking suspensors at the moment, my rad cannon augmek popped out and then got serially shot by half the Pie 'Eds, who focussed on him in an attempt to take him out leaving the rest of the gang to fire back - lasgun teks pinged shots their way, and then the plasma gun managed to get into position in the central board and opened up, eventually taking out or seriously injuring 2-3 gangers by himself. Johnny Utah ran up the flank with my neotek, who managed a coup de gras on an injured model Utah took another, while their neotek flew around my left flank putting some shots into my teks, but not doing much damage. My opponent stubbornly refused to bottle and all his gangers stayed on board for the entire game, until I took the last one OOA, meaning lots of XP for my gang.

This was effectively both our first games of Necromunda, and absolutely our first games of N23 and the campaign manager/tutor/rules guru present was still thinking of the older rulesets so it was a bit of a mish mash, we missed some XP for helping recover people, and also the flesh wound accumulation for multiple serious injuries, my rad cannon guy should probably  gone OOA instead of sitting with 2x serious.

With a win for the Rad Reavers, I claimed a tunnel network, and scraped together about 70 creds from winnings and settlement for the next game. I immediately added Grommet Satvha, another tek to the gang to bulk up my numbers.

More to come

@Xenith Necromuda is so much fun, I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks, I'm having great fun with it and getting my teeth into the complex ruleset. I've learned I prefer the complexity up front in terms of memorising, then a relativly simple gameplay/missions, very much the opposite of modern 40k! Seeing people set on fire and fall off ledges is just the icing on the cake.

For someone with BS2+ and two guns, you'd be surprised at how often he misses - I'm sure it's intentional by this point - I had a game this weds, at this point he has a master crafted plasma pistol alongside his normal pistol. I get within 6" of a rival ganger for +1 to hit, overcharge the MC, 2 to hit, 1 to wound, then the other plasma pistol gets a 1 to hit. So yes, he spends a lot of time firing his gun in the air and screaming!

One of my last games as a Cawdor player my bomb rats resulted in the out of actions for half of my gang…..upsetting but hilarious at the same time.

I was thinking of cawdoe as a possible gang for rat and fire fun!

I have an archaeo tech territory which allows me to make my lasguns rad and blaze, which I keep forgetting about, but I'm thinking of adding in another 2 juves with lasguns to act as rad-bearers and blow themselves up.
