Command Squad

This a gallery showcasing the current command squad for my Blades of Deliverance Chapter detachment; The 4th Order, otherwise known as "The Swords of Dorn".

At the moment, the squad stand at a Captain and 5 Astartes Verterans; the Sergeant (known as the Senior Brother), and the Order Stantard Bearer. Though I don't often shell out the points for a company champion, I made the model none the less, the idea being that he acts as a bodyguard for the Standard Bearer, who effectively bears the honour of the whole Order made manifest.

The squad will typically bear the "Furious Charge" skill and use the combination of the Captain's Leadership and Standard Re-roll to keep the main deployed of the army steady, while hiding just out of sight to the enemy, yet close enough to rush forward to a critical point and dish out a serious amount of pain on the charge. Results work out well when I tag team this unit with a larger tactical squad who support by shielding the command from assault-based counter attacks and general weight of numbers when everyone gets stuck in.
