Freak Forge's Corax

Codicier Xeones

An absolutely stunning original sculpt of the PRIMARCH CORAX by FreakForge.

This is a commission work and he decided on an American Indian theme with his client... VERY interesting concept... love how he describes it...

"* Corax live in a tribe that call him Corax ( the scientific name of the raven).

* Theres an american tribe called Apsáalooke most know as "Crow people".

* Corax and his tribe are slaves in a huge industrial complex ( that reminds me what happen with the original american people under the European colonization).

*The warfare tactics are one of the most common war tactics used by the native american.

*The crow is ussually presented as "totem" in the RG fluff.

*The hulk RG monsters that Corax made (after the heresy) remind me the legend of the Wendigo .

*And finally the well know Corax´s final phrase is a quote from the poem "the Raven" By Edgar Allan Poe... an American writer.

I just want to give a Corax´s people a cultural reference. After reading the very few lines about him (and listen the audio-book), I found more rich to visualice the people of Deliverance as native american themed.

A whole universe and all we have are gothic guys, and European myths??? Sounds boring tongue.gif .

About the pale skin, as far I know Corax have a genetic problem (the pale skin, pitch black eyes and ebony hair)... so, he can be a member of any ethnic group, and we don´t know wich one just for his skin colour.

Also, the "White Spirit" tales and the warpaint make a lot of matches on my head with being pale white.

The same genetic disorder goes for the RG marines that later got the Corax geneseed... they start as regular deliverance´s people, and with the pass of the years start to become "white as death" happy.gif .

Anyway, that´s just my interpretation of Corax.

I don´t have the last word about this, just want to tell you what ideas came to my mind about the skin manner."
